RE: Your character and the MSQ - Mae - 04-01-2015 *contemplates the can labeled 'Worms' in her hand, then shrugs and goes for the can-opener* Being part of a group that RP's MSQ, it's not that difficult for me to imagine >_> Kara doesn't like it. She doesn't have the disposition to be a hero-type... or be overly helpful to strangers. She actually tried to buck it a few times and run away (there were other, perhaps more pressing, reasons for her running away but the whole "destiny" and "fate" thing did factor in), but she kept getting dragged back. In the end, her involvement in events is both reluctant and selfish -- she doesn't want to do it, but she realizes that if the world goes to hell there'll likely be a lack of people for her to steal from. She's also gone and answered the question of "Why me?"... there's not really anyone else she'd trust to do this stuff in her place. It's another reason why she hasn't totally buried herself under a pile of rocks somewhere to avoid being involved in events. Being immune to being Tempered/Touched/Thrall'd/Drowned/whatever is only useful when it comes to being on a team that's being sent to fight a Primal. Considering that it's a trait that the Scions look for when they're looking to put down a Primal, Kara isn't fond of it. Her Echo powers seem to be more of a hassle to her than a gift; she can understand languages only about half the time, and the occasional random glimpse into other's memories tends to literally knock her on her ass. Beyond that, she has no special gifts -- she's just as frail as the next person and has taken her fair share of lumps, bumps, sprains, and wounds. She's just so far been lucky enough to avoid more serious injuries. RE: Your character and the MSQ - Verad - 04-02-2015 Verad as Warrior of Light would have made the whole thing an elaborate farce. Every major fight would be an exercise in him failing forward: splashing dehydrated water on Ifrit, tricking Titan into selling his mineral rights, accidentally surfing on Leviathan, defeats Ultima weapon by having swapped out one replacement magitek gyro with a piece of imitation fool's gold at a critical moment, etc. The Royal Feast would be marred by a pie-fight. In short it would be Final Funtasy XIV. RE: Your character and the MSQ - Leanne - 04-02-2015 To my shame, Leanne would do most of the things the Warrior of Light. Yes, that includes being sent on meaningless quests left and right... One thing that she'd do different though is about the authorities that tries to stop her. She'd give them a heeeeell of a hard time. RE: Your character and the MSQ - Dis - 04-02-2015 Glioca would probably take to being the Warrior of Light really well.  And then immediately discarded every bit of destiny and rewritten things herself.  Most things, she finds, can be handled with a spell-bolt between the eyes.  Teledji?  Not an issue.  Lolorito? Also not an issue.  And she sure wouldn't have had to wait for Raubahn to free her hands, as she's incredibly strong.  Being framed wouldn't have mattered to her, as in RP she operates outside all of the different City-States anyway.  The biggest thing would have been the Sultana being poisoned.  She'd have immediately started applying first aid, as Glioca is, first and foremost, a healer, and wouldn't have let a woman she respected just die in front of her without trying to lift a hand.  That vial?  Yeah, that wouldn't have been on her person.  It would have been stowed away elsewhere in the city until she could go back for it.  She never keeps what could possibly be foreign substances on her until she identifies it thoroughly - she's an alchemy practitioner, and knows the dangers that can pose. Unfortunately, Glio's too genre savvy to make a good WoL.  Too much wouldn't make it past her radar, and blow some badguys plans out of the water.  She's definitely not the most trusting individual, and that helps greatly. RE: Your character and the MSQ - Caspar - 04-02-2015 Virara is actually fearless, naive and thickheaded enough, as well as a foreigner, to fill the role of quiet brute force type who just gets pointed in the direction of trouble by other people and fired like a guided lalafell cruise missile. She is industrious and obedient, unless angered, and thus would totally do random odd jobs for people, not really valuing prestige and never considering any kind of work beneath her. However, some personality traits of hers would probably get in the way. She has no connections to any of the Grand Companies or their city states and thus wouldn't feel obligated to join one of them. A lot of scenes in which villains talk or otherwise grandstand, like Lahabrea, would probably end prematurely due to Virara bum rushing them. So it'd actually be kinda like those guys who start the last fight in Praetorium before you're done watching the cutscene. "Ahahaha! You are strong, Warrior of Light. Yet know that if I should- wait, what are you doing!? Don't you care what happens to him! Stop that! Stop punching you minuscule imbecile, I'm trying to talk!" She would have probably attempted to fight every Scion at least once, which really doesn't endear someone to you unless you're Hoary Boulder or Yda. She would horribly bungle the quest where you have to disguise yourself. For one, there's like one other Imp Lala around and she's not him. It's unlikely she'd be able to act and would be found out immediately. Virara lacks diplomatic acumen and would worsen relations with Ishgard if sent to represent Eorzea, despite her seeming politeness. At least taking her words at face value, Virara comes off as placating and modest, but really, she's just doing what she was trained to do and it shows. Though, the WoL was able to build bridges with only a few enigmatic nods and some help from her friends, so actually Virara might be the perfect girl for the job... She tends to avoid attention, so using her as a heroic type or sending her to give others morale, which happens a lot in the MSQ after your win over the primals, would probably not work. On the other hand, it would explain why so many people initially don't recognize WoL or can't believe they killed primals or defeated countless imperial men and materiel. Virara is phobic of typhoons and so would either fail to defeat Leviathan or would have to undergo considerable training and counseling to do it. I suppose she could blindfold herself... In addition, for various reasons, it's possible key Doman NPCs would refuse her help entirely, unless Yugiri put in a good word for her, highly unlikely. So some MSQ content would have to be carried out by other Scions. Virara also is one of the least likely candidates to receive echo, despite being written as being extremely strong, maybe even a different level of power entirely from a lot of the characters she's interacted with, by my perception anyway. It's a bad habit of mine; I like my heroes to be "Heroic" in the old sense, and can't really resist snowflaking, and yet the way I snowflaked *in* actually hamstrings Virara greatly as a WoL. It might say too much for me to explain why, though. That being said, taking into account her *potential* strength ICly, Virara with the Echo would probably be able to accomplish a lot of the things that take place in the story, if maybe not as easily. RE: Your character and the MSQ - Qhora Bajihri - 04-02-2015 Qhora would spend too much time laughing her ass off to get anything done, at least with this latest installment. Probably most of the earlier story, she would've been better at acting as the relatively dutiful mercenary, if a little yawning over the fawning accusations of her being a superhero. But this latest batch... she'd be out of breath from the laughing, and being like, "No, please, give me the credit. This is too good. All my fault. Yes, indeed. Been machinating it for months. What are you going to do about it?" Then probably go "request" payment from some Syndicate people for not at least giving her warning, or collecting payment because actually they gave her warning. And all the after-events, she'd be hiding giggles behind her hands while all her rescuers acted all serious. Then straight up aetheryte back to Ul'dah for more laughs. I like to assume that the MSQ stuff happens to somebody else, but there's no way Qhora could do it, really. She'd either be "eff this" once it got into the realm of please help we need help, rather than for her own benefit. Or, you know, she'd straight up offer to poison the Raisin Queen. For gil, of course. RE: Your character and the MSQ - Kellach Woods - 04-02-2015 Kellach would have turned the MSQ into the equivalent of Hildibrand, only he's actually competent. The tone would certainly be much lighter, with each confrontation with the primals ending more on a positive note than "dismissed". Also, Kellach would have had an antidote on hand, or be able to synthesize one. And no one else would have left the room alive. RE: Your character and the MSQ - SM Nick - 04-02-2015 If Solis was the Warrior of Light, he would gladly take up the role alongside his friends (my other characters serving as his party members), also with the members of Solaris Ventus backing them up. Solis would be the hot-blooded leader. Niklas is the second-in-command and big brother mentor to Solis. Rena is the big guy, or little girl lol that is the brawn and bruiser of the team. Max is the smart guy, using his magicks to attack, destroy, and heal. Finally, Sakura is the chick/other damage dealer that does recon and stealth. I wish I could have a party of 5 with my own characters lol. RE: Your character and the MSQ - Aaron - 04-02-2015 OK, guess its my turn. Aaron would probably be a terrible WoL, he's too non chalant, blatantly sarcastic, and has a habit of outright forgetting and or abandoning stuff time he loses interest. Probably would have everyone think Thancred was his brother, he would treat Minfilia like badly. Oh, you got captured again? I'll save you after my nap. He wouldn't be too fond of taking on Primals either, he hates having to try. Aleria would probably just say no right off the bat as being some uber chosen one doesn't impress her. RE: Your character and the MSQ - Kurt S. - 04-02-2015 Ramona being the WoL huh? Well then, Eorzea is screwed also that'll increase her current ego from just being the size of Dalamud to being the size of Dalamud 10^whateverI'mtheWoL. She knows she can kill you with just a spoon because 'plot armor.' Well she'd abuse the recognition that comes with it and use it to her own ends. Charging exorbitant amounts of cash for trivial stuff because WoL power could be used elsewhere after all. She'd like it if people made it worth her while. She'd have some personalized taunt for all the primals too. Ifrit? 'Oh you mean my stove?'. Titan? 'I can stop the rock.' Garuda? 'Blow harder, maybe it'll tickle.' Ultima? 'I am the Ultimate Weapon.' Good King Mog XII? 'That crown, I like that crown, it's mine.' Leviathan? 'Guess who's having fish tonight?' Ramuh? 'I'll turn that beard of yours into my carpet.' Shiva? 'I'm cooler than you'll ever be.' Enkidu? 'Your chicken form was harder.' For the right price she will do the MSQ jobs if and only if she stands to profit from it. So basically Eorzea is screwed unless they can compensate her properly for taking on the threats to it. What's she gonna do with all that cash? No idea. Money, money and more moneeeeeyyyyy! RE: Your character and the MSQ - Jana - 04-03-2015 Jana's too willing to spill blood to make a good WoL. Even for the bad guys she wouldn't be able to kill, like Ascians, she'd be cutting of their speeches with attempts. RE: Your character and the MSQ - Kou - 04-03-2015 K'washi would be facepalming SO MANY TIMES IN THE MSQ, YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I'd certainly have enjoyed it more. K'washi with his antics and his animated personality, there would be a lot of "Ohcrap!" moments on his face. And all the speeches and the formality and what not? He'd fall asleep during most, if not all, of them. It's too young to be the saviour of the world. Doesn't mean it wouldn't be funny to watch. RE: Your character and the MSQ - S'imba - 04-03-2015 It would take S'imba a long time to actually accept it. But he'd still do as they wanted anyways He'd probably do all the stupid fetch quests to since he's literally that suggestible. Like oh S'imba the Garleans are about to attack but I need my dry cleaning picked up. S'imba: Ok. The ending pretty much ended on the typical note for him...just missing the asshat mage that sits and tells him all the ways he screwed up and should have been able to prevent that. RE: Your character and the MSQ - Kalooeh - 04-05-2015 "I'm sorry, ya think I'M a warrior o' light? I'm sure that was bloody marvelous fer them then considering if a battle looks like it's for sure goin' ta shit I'm headed out. Sacrificin' my life fer others? What's that gonna get me? Dead is what. Don't get me wrong I'm all fer helping with fightin' but if I'm gonna die or it's a lost cause I'm sure as shit out" Kal wouldn't make a bad WOL, much of a brat that she is, and probably love any extra boosts to power. She maybe sits in the chaotic good alignment territory but she will fight tooth and nail for whatever cause she lines herself up with. but the thing is if it looks like she may die she very likely would up and hightail it out of there, unless there was some kind of guaranteed thing that she wouldn't be permanently dead or suffer any long term major problems from being dead. She won't give a shit if there's even an guaranteed chance she'll die if it's guaranteed she'd be able to come back. But if not, she's out. She wouldn't be very good at handling relations with Ishgard though. She already has a negative opinion about them from Coerthas. Major villains rambling on and on about whatever? Most likely end up being shot in the face because she got bored. "Yes, yes; I get it, yer a frickin' ass'ole. Shut yer gob an' fight me!" Dheina would cry because she's a puffball healer with no physical strength, hates fighting, and is easily scared. Her nickname is Panic Cat for a very good reason. Oh she'd still try her hardest and help as best she could, but there'd be a lot of crying and panicked spells during fights and trying to be diplomatic would fail since she'd be too timid to get anywhere... or at least for her side. Sam would likely just be like "..... Well fuck. That explains a lot though. I suppose I'll have a go at it". They're more used to blending in though and using that for being a rogue. Being in the spotlight would be very uncomfortable but they'd at least try it and for fighting probably try to avoid it unless they feel they have some good backup for good odds at beating whatever it is that's being fought, or just to take the attention while they work on taking shit down. RE: Your character and the MSQ - CrimsonMars - 04-05-2015 Chiyo can be pretty arrogant and obligated espeically when she's giving such power so she'll probably go through fighting the primals and garleans even if she could die. She'll probably be like, "I'm teh Juggernaut Warrior o' ligh', bitch!" Though because of her personality and ignorance, she might get into trouble in current situations. As long as she isn't by herself in most boss fights and instances, she should have a chance. Overtime though, she'll grow to hate Ishgard and even be feed up with the Scions for making her go through so much. Chiyo doesn't mind hard-work to a degree but even she has her limits. |
