Strongest of the scions created by the gods, they feared his growth, and so kept him a child. So indomitable is his strength that all things are by him twisted and pressed into oblivion. He alone fashions the laws governing all things, and administers punishment in place of the gods. So is he Keeper of Precepts, and his authority is absolute. The Esper of Dark, he represents the Zodiac sign of Ophiuchus, the Serpent Holder. Zodiark is indeed a serpent, in the form that Ophiuchus is most commonly associated with, a snake. From his power of Dark, his color sign is black. Zodiark is also referred to as the Ashlesha Ascendant, which is the Sanskrit name of its Zodiac sign as used in Jyotish (Hindu) astrology. It's not accurate. Yet but it's a start. I'm not super strict on lore adherence, so bend the lore however you feel like. That said, some of my notes will be directed to lore adherence or the lack thereof, and that certain players may avoid you depending on how plausible your character is. If that bothers you, feel free to ignore these pointers as you wish. I mean, we all know Immortal Flame Raubahn was corrupt guard of the Empress, and also a blue mage, and also multiple part demons and generally a corrupt, scheming villain, right? Do what you want, but be prepared for XIV to retcon you. Consider this: None of the Primals in the game currently share backstory with any other instance of the same name in any Final Fantasy game, ever. The small exception could be made for Ramuh, who is always written as a Judge-like character, but his role in XIV is specifically to protect the Twelveswood (a place that doesn't exist in other games). You're hedging huge parts of your already-immense backstory on the fact that this one guy will resemble his XII counterpart. It's just "risky" because we know we're going to see more of Zodiark in the future. If your interpretation is wrong, then you're kind of hosed. Makes me wonder, though: Zodiark is only now ascendant in the storyline, culminating in the reveal at the end of the 2.0 main story. How strong would it have been during Carteneau, when the power of the Twelve was on full-blast? If the mother crystal was blessing her champions what if Zardiark was strengthening his own? Or at least atempting to lure/corrupt those to his cause. It woldnt be canon ,but it'd be an aspect that might pop up later in the story.(05-08-2015, 03:09 PM)ZacharyVolfire Wrote:(05-08-2015, 03:06 PM)Warren Castille Wrote:Hmm true...  Iguess i got caught up in the notiondue to the lore also tying in previous games thanks various easy plot devices *the allhgan empire being respoinble for FF3 etc.(05-08-2015, 02:57 PM)ZacharyVolfire Wrote: Zodiark EDIT: also the twleve powers were focused on the Elder Primal Bahamut so there was a chance Zar-Zar could slipp through the Keeper's Cracks |
