I'm trying to get my mother to read it because my parents have SO MUCH STUFF. RE: Last book you read - Telluride - 02-08-2016 My last read was First and Only by Dan Abnett, one of the Gaunt's Ghosts novels. Been trying to go through the Gaunt's Ghost books so I can then pick up the Ciaphas Cain novels next. RE: Last book you read - Juromaro - 02-08-2016 I just finished reading the Eon and Eona series by Allison Goodman http://www.alisongoodman.com.au/darkdaysclub.com/eon-and-eona/ - About a group of Boys/Men chosen by Elemental Dragons that are basically the care takers of the world, and this girl Eona pretends to be a boy so she can take the trial to see if she's chosen by the Dragon who's power is currently up for the year. Good story so I won't spoil the rest. Also last week I finished a real good gamer book called "Ready Player One" by Ernest Cline https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ready_Player_One alot of 80's pop culture that any nerd would love. RE: Last book you read - Kage - 02-08-2016 I got a signed copy of Games Wizards Play by Diane Duane. I only read it today sadly because she ended up sending it from Ireland to my billing address and not the shipping address ; ; RE: Last book you read - Edgar - 02-08-2016 ![]() Not necessarily the full thing, just yet. Being a compilation of stories...Does one of them count? The last story I read in it was The Hound, which is famously the first story of Lovecraft's to mention the "Necronomicon". It was inspired by a visit Lovecraft made to the Flatbush Reformed Church in Brooklyn. RE: Last book you read - Warren Castille - 02-08-2016 I'm currently halfway through Memory of Light, the last book in the Wheel of Time series. I've been mainlining the whole series at work since about July and it's been wonderful. Prior to that, I reread Rainbow Six. Prior to THAT, I read a fantastic book called Superposition, which deals with quantum entanglement and string theory, kind of. It's sort of a horror book, but it's really neat. RE: Last book you read - Martiallais - 02-08-2016 The last book I read was Transformers: Retribution and prior to that was Gears of War: The Slab. Ssssh stop judging me. Currently working my way through House of Leaves now that I've got a renewed interest in it after being hung up on a puzzle for a bit. RE: Last book you read - Dogberry - 02-08-2016 In the Dust of This Planet by Eugene Thacker. I liked it. Horror and philosophy, etc. Probably going to read the next book in the series, but I'm going to probably read something lighter first. Probably book from the Culture series next. RE: Last book you read - Rowe - 02-08-2016 I read The Martian. Then I went to see the movie. I'm pretty hardcore. RE: Last book you read - McBeef™ - 02-08-2016 The last book I read was 'The Arsenal of Democracy' which was about the American rearmament effort during WWII and the3 Ford company in particular. It was really good! The last book I listened to (on audible) was the 'Bands of Mourning' which is one of the Mistborn sequels. It was also really good. RE: Last book you read - Arrelaine - 02-08-2016 The last book I read was Yellowtail's Secret, part of the Warriors universe. Sadly I think it's going to be a year or two before the kiddo can read them (some parts are just a bit -too- graphically violent for an 8 year old). I'm currently reading Legends of Dimmingwood through my amazon kindle sub. My favorite series is still the Belgariad series. RE: Last book you read - C'kayah Polaali - 02-08-2016 Merchanter's Luck, by C.J. Cherryh. It's a fairly quick read, but entertaining. RE: Last book you read - Roe Dad - 02-09-2016 Rereading the Darth Bane series by Drew Karpyshyn RE: Last book you read - Aquila - 02-09-2016 Currently working on The Bees, by Laline Paull. It's so nifty so far; I'm really feeling it. RE: Last book you read - Burd - 02-09-2016 I'm soooo close to finishing Berlin Dance of Death by Helmut Altner. It's a great read if you like to feel bad about stuff. |
