RE: Roleplaying an Ishgardian - TheLastCandle - 01-21-2014 Sounds awesome, Wizard! ![]() RE: Roleplaying an Ishgardian - Asgarn - 01-21-2014 Sounds like a cool idea, Wizard. It opens both the "Brooding" and "Adventurous" character windows quite easily. Many possibilities... ![]() Seeing as this seems to be the place to talk all things Ishgardian right now, I wonder if I could get some opinions on a character concept I have in mind. This is VERY long for a single reply, so I shall spoiler tag it: So yeah. What d'yah think? I will likely only play him if Asgarn meets an unfortunate end or I put him on a break for a while, but still. RE: Roleplaying an Ishgardian - Erik Mynhier - 01-22-2014 My now deceased character's mother ran away from Ishgard in the dead of night. She was a minor member of the House of Fortemps. Her father was the youngest son of whoever the head of the house was(an elezen), and a maid (a midlander). I ran her as a hated girl in a fanatical world. RE: Roleplaying an Ishgardian - TheWizard - 01-22-2014 I really like that idea Asgarn, Byron could relate to some of his woes. I'm basically going to model Byron after the literary trope of the Byronic Hero. His decision to become a Dragoon came from hearing stories that these knights specialized in fighting and destroying dragons so the believes those skills will aid him greatly in his quest.  As for becoming a dragoon he ended up being trained by an old Hyur who was the last remaining member of House Rivendare(a minor house of Ishgard, or if there are no minor houses they'd be a vassal house of one of the four major ones.)  The old man taught him everything he could about being a dragoon before passing away form a wasting disease caused by his dragon soul.  He was also made Lord of the said house with the promise to keep the Rivendare legacy alive as his mentor had no children left alive who shared his bloodline. The thing is Artorias has no real interest in being an Ishgardian, to him gaining the power of a dragoon and title of Lord of House Rivendare is a means to an end, which is to find and destroy Bahamut.  If anything he uses his Ishgardian title to hide his Garlean origins. (What, I have two Garleans who are not really Garleans)  I would love to meet other Ishgardians!  Not sure if *Rae* would want to meet other Ishgardians.  She would despise most of them.  ![]() ![]() RE: Roleplaying an Ishgardian - Asgarn - 01-22-2014 Belmont is made. ^.^ All in all, I am very happy with his appearance and can't wait to play him! It is important to note I shall only be roleplaying him when (and IF) I put Asgarn in to discontinuation. Here are some screenshots I took during the Gridania opening sequence to try and give you a good look at him: (The Spoiler tag system seems to hate me. Every screenshot after "Basic Shot" is a screenshot within a screenshot. They're there still, so feel free to look! ![]() RE: Roleplaying an Ishgardian - Swashbuckler - 01-22-2014 I should probably mention that I've also created an Ishgardian named Cedric Riordan. The name links to his RPC Wiki. Any Ishgardians who'd like to recognize him, please let me know beforehand. Also if you happen to read the wiki, let me know if there are any inconsistencies with the lore. To summarize: Cedric was once a dragoon knight (In which, if they had ranks, he'd likely be the lowest ranking knight. Squire?) but did not like his confined life within the Holy See so he... kinda just left. During The Calamity, might I add. So for all intents and purposes, he has likely been branded a heretic. Anyhoo, I'm glad I ran into this thread, for I didn't know many people who RP'd Ishgardians and there is not much lore we know about them. Again, if you have a character who would like to recognize him, let me know. (What, I have two Garleans who are not really Garleans)  Yup that's no problem, I actually made a bit of lore about them as I made them a Crusader House with a small history of their own.  Just let me know and I'll send it to you. ![]() RE: Roleplaying an Ishgardian - TheWizard - 01-23-2014 I think we could all really get an Ishgard thing going. RE: Roleplaying an Ishgardian - Rosekitten - 01-24-2014 I am not volunteering to set it up.. I'm terrible with planning rp events it seems ^^; RE: Roleplaying an Ishgardian - Xydane - 01-24-2014 My brother (OOCly and IC) and I always had an interest in Ishgardians. If you guys ever want to meet up and RP, please let me know. RE: Roleplaying an Ishgardian - TheWizard - 01-25-2014 Looks like I need to level mine then xD |
