I would definitely say there's some wiggle room. The Empire controls a lot of very different places, so I'm sure you can get away with any kind of name really. Otherwise, a lot of native Garleans have roman names. There's a couple threads on Garlean naming conventions, but I don't think anything is set in stone

1. You could be a basic foot soldier, naturally. But if you want something a bit higher up, the Garlean Empire uses the rankings of the Roman Legion. To be honest, since there are thirteen different Legions and we only really see one of them in-game, anything below Legatus is viable.

2. Not all of them do; you're welcome to name your character whatever you please! Though the Garleans of course have Latin names, a lot of the NPC's do still follow some aspects of their respective race's naming conventions.

3. I'd be glad to if we could work something out!

My Garleans name is Isera Fennias, which just sounds vaguely Garlean and it works out pretty well. It' doesn't have to be perfect or you could say its a fake name and be undercover. She also barely has anything to do with the military, since I didn't want to go that route, but is part of a rich and influential Garlean family - because I assume every culture everywhere has those.

Hmmm. Faye I'll have to get an invite to your LS on Isera. I'm in Denns already, let's pool resources, start an army, take over Eorzea

I've got my character ready, I still need to name him (and wait or the server to open fr new characters) Does any character want a sibling or child who is "Up Himself" I'm planning to have him part of a high class family .. first name will probably be Azureus or  Caeruleus :3 he will probably be 18/19 and is quite short for his age aswell. but thats all I got at the moment

Also, myself and some others on Balmung are running a episodic Garlean event and is a good chance for you to meet some fellow Garlean agents in an attempt to bring down Ul'dah.  We have already had the first episode but there is plenty of time to join in before next Wednesday's episode.  Feel free to check the link below.

I'd love to entwine my story with anyone else that would like. My character is actually Elezen, so obviously not born Garlean. There was an incident with an artifact that placed my character in a precarious position and now she is siding with the Garleans. If anyone is interested in learning more, just let me know. Otherwise, just having some other Garlean's to rp with is a bonus. And I'd love to learn more about the episodic Garlean event.

I'd definitely take an invite to the LS. Character's name is Alyanissa Devereux. Smile
