Sadly, I think Osric's right. I remember Yoshi mentioning that they don't really have a way for our characters to actually hug one another, but hug emotes would at least give the impression of a hug.

Positioning isn't a problem. You just try several until you get it right; and you will.
In fact, I prefer that way to auto adjusted hug, because I don't really want my characters to be actually and automatically hugged by any stranger.

And yes, I don't want to be hugged without permission asked. Hopefully the emote will have a confirmation window like Trade. I'd require one for anything emoting physical contact, from hug to slap and the like.

If highlander/highlander, or highlander/roe, or roe/roe don't bear hug when they hug each other, SE will lose points on the broscale.
