I'm partial to the Adders gear. (Big surprise, right?) It's not going to suit all characters, but the way the pauldrons and gauntlets of the tank gear (clicky) are made to look like treebark and such happens to suit mine.
Here's a picture I found of a Lalafell wearing the Adders DoM robe:

So yeah. Lots of tanned leather and fur. And yellow, naturally, for all of the sets. I'm fond of 'em all, and would like to pick them up for my off-classes, but I'm so burned out on actually doing hunts lately.

 !!1These are the field uniforms that the Grand Company soldiers wear to battle. Yes, it's not heavy armour, and that's because in the time period Eorzea is analogous too, regular soldiers were not donned up in plate. Only cavalry were or what have you.
