RE: Miqo'te naming - Edgar - 03-14-2015

Edgar is effectively the posterboy for a Miqo'te who was raised in a city and doesn't use a tribal name.

Though everyone knows him as Edgar Von Gandervalt, his real name is Z'sira'a Tordone, a name that borrows from both naming conventions due to his Mixed heritage.

My character being from Doma always asks when she finds out about a Miqo'te's name if they are a Tia/Nunh or what tribe they are from because her history lessons told her that Miqo'te's are usually part of large tribes or families.

With keepers she confuses up what the number count system is and generally needs to re-ask. She gets very confused when someone isn't of the same name conventions unless they explain it because - well, even NPC's have tribal names.

I personally think Miqo'te simple go with the flow. If they're from a tribal group and consider themselves as such, their name is perhaps changed over time to represent it.
Or as others have said: A tribal who's moved to the city and in an attempt to fit in has changed their name to be more Urban.
