I named my regular chocobo after a friend's GW2 character Baldr that because I have the maturity level of a 12 year old. I waited almost a year for our FFXIV RP to finally present me with an opportunity where I could realistically emote out "Tiergan mounts Baldr."

I haven't gotten to name my racing bird yet because drowning in work. Not sure when I'll get to log in.

The warbird is Tan'to.

The racer is Vermeille Vortex. Yeah.

I wasn't expecting the option to name my chocobo either. When I realized that I needed to think up a name, I denied the quest and ran around for a day or two, seriously thinking it over. I came up with "Warmth" which ended up being perfect for Flickering Ember. It helps though that most names Ember comes up with aren't going to be serious.

She called her chocobo "Warmth" because, well, the chocobo was warm and cuddly. Additionally, "warmth" is a trait she greatly values in general.


Her race chocobo is "Good Biscuit." She has a love for food and often thought it was okay to eat chocobos just like any other animal. While she's stopped associating all animals as potential meals, she is secretly hoping that it won't be taboo for her to eventually eat the chocobo. >.>
Although, even if that is not the case, the name "Good Biscuit" summons happy thoughts of when she might possibly consume her next meal.

Lurial's is named Diamond Whirlwind. o/ Tiergan's might be Final Eclipse until I pick out something less tryhard.

Away from the track, Kilid and Steelbeak are the bestest of travelling/adventuring buddies.

just unlocked all gold saucer stuff on my main. Racing bird is Quantum Swift, because I've always been interested in quantum physics and such so when I saw that option I had to go for it. I was going to make the second word as related to quantum physics as possible, but then it would be too clunky sounding and obvious.

So yeah, Quantum Swift's gonna win some races (hopefully). Calling her Quinn for short.

So I take a lot of Hindu/Buddist lore into consideration on my character's names and stories and I like SMT, so I thought it would be funny to name my Chocobo Mara, because it is basically a dick chariot and I am 12. That, and it is from that lore. 

My racing one is Lord Lavende for obvious reasons, however. 

(Hint: I'm LAVENDER)

Kiht's personal Chocobo is a blue male named Windrunner. He is unruly, so he and Kiht together are often like a comedy routine.

Kiht's racing Chocobo is not IC, but I chose a female named Flying Spear.

I always name them what I think my character would name them ICly, and so I have:

-Sebastian
-Butterscotch
and
-Starlight

Jana's IC company chocobo is named Khenta, meant to be a male version of her NPC-sister's name. Her (probably OOC?) racing chocobo is currently named Elegant Clipper. I'm saving Wild Challenger for a few breedings down...

I ruminated on this for a very long time. Many candidates were put forward to a council of mine own choosing.

I went with Restless Leg.
