Indeed. :3 Though I worry about the new materia slots on raid-tier gear. Very likely we'll see teams dissolve before our very eyes because we're not running The Right Materia. A meta on top of a meta.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy....

I typically follow this route as well, myself.  Seeing as I'm "only" iL178, it might be best to get the dungeons outta the way and see if it nets me some pretties before entering the Raid.

Ideally, some guide vids will be out there at that point so I can tank things without being completely blind.  Used to be fun, learning a thing.  Now I'm required to be an expert before even clicking "Accept".

Ah well.  C'est la community.
Gwen's Guide to New Content.

"Hey guys I've never done this before any tips are appreciated"

Then A or B happens

A: Someone Gives pointers, we go on and rock content.

B: No one gives pointers I shrug and try to do the thing, we wipe - someone complains - I remind them of my opening line, and then reinforce no one gave any pointers. At this point it either stays silent and we repeat B until I see the patterns myself, or someone speaks up then see A.

I try not to let it discourage me, but it can be intimidating since it's always our faults as the tank for some reason.

ON TOPIC!

FUCK YEAH! We get to fight a Brachiosaurus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A friend of Fyrilsunn's a friend of mine! I'm looking forward to running blindly through some new dungeons with friends. :'D I was kind of disappointed by how straightforward the last batch of hardmodes was, to be honest. I'm really looking forward to these.

No one has really commented on the Brachiosaur. COME ON the thing is one of the fucking strongest mobs in the game of FF6 outside of bosses. It casts Disaster and Meteor and sometimes even Ultima.

Or you are overleveled as I do almost all the time, grind on it for items and points and do not worry TOO much about 1-shot deaths. >.>;

Edit: I do not accept vanish-doom as an answer.

Quick + Master Scroll + Fixed Dice and a good dose of luck.

But I don't like luck Sad I actually never really used Setzer when I play. Setzer, Umaro, Relm or Strago. Also Gogo.

RE: Patch 3.1 trailer from the Live Letter. - Steel Wolf - 10-26-2015

I both am eager and terrified of facing the Brachiosaur. Much like seeing a Tonberry for the first time, it will hold the strange mixture of both nostalgic delight and nostalgic horror.

First step is to see how reclamation will turn things out. Ishgard housing won't happen until the issues in Ishgard are resolved (maybe after 3.1's MSQ it will be a possibility?)

All they're gonna talk about is reclamation anyway

I just want more wards.  Sad

I am a bit concerned about this too. Honestly, it feels like the way they are saying is "Since we can't seem to fix this issue, don't have better ideas to resolve this and we can't really add more wards, the best thing we can ever do is by kicking off inactive players to claim an empty plot."

I am not sure if they are at this focused on housing at all except adding more furnishing items, and there are too many furnishings that even 200 slots for large mansion can't really fit them all to decorate nicely.

The housing system is just all disastrous and at this point, and it feels like they just don't even want to touch it.

It's the worst part of the game, as far as I'm concerned, and a major point of ambivalence for me.

I have the money for a house, but I can't GET one because there are no unclaimed houses. It sucks.

RE: Patch 3.1 trailer from the Live Letter. - Kage - 10-26-2015

You've not been paying enough attention to their responses about it, then, imo.

They've mentioned that they're doing this in phases. This is just the first phase. Then they're looking at relocations, etc. This isn't the end all be all but the same team that does X content is usually the team that does Y content. If I remember correctly the housing team is also the gold saucer team? So the team is doing > gold saucer stuff, furnishings limit, looking into plots, looking into how to relocate them, and looking at whatever else they have planned.

I've been paying attention.  I'm still not happy.

Just because I am not happy to wait doesn't mean that I'm not paying attention.  You know what they say about assumptions, Kage.

Then don't be upset that something they've addressed with "this will be first and we also plan these things before this happens." You set yourself up for your own unhappiness.

Edit: The point is they've laid it out in the last live letters.

July: Q63. I really love the scenery in the new areas. Do you have plans to introduce a housing ward in Ishgard?

A63. We’re currently working to solve the inconvenience in the extended wards, so we believe it’ll be after this. This is because we think we first need to create a transfer system for players who wish to move to an Ishgard area.

August: Removal of Inactive Houses: We'll be adding a system that removes houses that are not in use. We’ll be announcing the criteria for removal in the future.

August same live letter: Plans for Land for Housing. We’re thinking of ways to make empty lands. First, we would like players to create houses on these empty lands, then once the moving feature is implemented, we’re looking into either adding more land into existing housing areas, or to create new housing areas in Ishgard.

The stuff they told us for 3.1 is happening and that was the first of their plans. Maybe, oh maybe, once they see how 3.1 reclamations go they're going to see about adding more land. Like they said.

Echo Screen/Pause Buffering/Joker Doom?

Like, sorry but vanish-doom is barely even the tip of the iceberg that is how broken FF6 vanilla is.

I admit to not playing with Setzer pretty much ever so I never would have used it. For the most part I don't break FF6. For the most part.

RE: Patch 3.1 trailer from the Live Letter. - Kellach Woods - 10-26-2015

The reason for the echo screen is simply value manipulation, as that smoke animation guarantees that 7 7 7 is a possible result. The pause buffering is to ensure you get it 100% of the time.
