First of all, another thank you to those who have applied.

With that we wish to inform we’ve cleaned up our Linkshell.

Discord invites can be either asked over the Resistance Tumblr trough messaging, or contact Avelyn Firestone in-game while you still can.

Applications will be reopened sometime after Stormblood’s release. So please don’t stress about this.

Thank you all for your help and support once more, and may the log in queues be a swift as Rhalgr’s levin in the upcoming days!

Resistance Chocobo Cosplay

Do you want your own Resistance look-alike chocobo? Are you willing to invest time, gil and effort into it? But you simply have no clue how to achieve this?

Worry not! With these two simple steps, you too can have your very own Ala Mhigan chocobo!

  • Dye your chocobo Plum Purple by feeding it at a stable.

    If you did not unlock chocobo raising yet, you will need do the Questline ‘Bird in Hand’ in order to do such.

    The ‘FFXIV Chocobo’ site is an excellent resource to help you out with this. Make sure to click on the ‘View Feeding Order’ button as well, so you do not end up with a completely different coloured chocobo! Keep in mind while the site cannot guarantee that your chocobo will have the perfect colour on the first try.

  • Acquire the Ala Mhigan barding by participating in the ‘Rattle And Humbaba’ (68) Fate in the Peaks.

    ‘Mouth for Water’ is the Fate which starts the chain! Thankfully the chain only exists out of two parts. While we cannot state for certain, you probably need a gold participation medal in order to be rewarded with the Ala Mhigan barding. It spawns near Ala Ghiri.

Despite all this your chocobo will still have the height of what Square Enix assigned to your character. So unless you’re a Roegadyn, there’s a good chance your chocobo will still be (somewhat) shorter compared to the NPC ones.

With Stormblood being released for a little while now, and with most people in the linkshell having finished up their MSQ, we are happy to see roleplay is slowly picking up in Gyr Abania!

With that we like to announce that we will be opening our recruitment within the coming couple of days!

So please stay tuned for a couple of days longer, and we will provide you with all the information onto how to join our merry band of Ala Mhigans and friends.

  • Who: Anyone who wishes to pay their respects to the Ala Mhigans who perished beyond the borders of Gyr Abania. You don’t have to be Ala Mhigan to join us!!

It is custom for a person to bring an object who formerly belonged to the deceased, such as a sword, with them and leave them at the cenotaph. Food also seems to be placed at graves, tombs and the like, so this is certainly an option as well if your character does not have an item left belonging formerly to their loved one. Or if they simply wish to show their respect to those who have died abroad. But! Just observing is completely acceptable as well.

It’s worth of note that there’s vaguely being hinted at that the Ala Mhigans believe that the deceased can hear what is being said there.

If your character wishes to say some words publicly regarding their loved one who perished abroad, please contact Avelyn Firestone, or contact us through Tumblr. We’d love to see people helping us out promoting Ala Mhigan culture, tradition and religion after all!

After applying, please continue to try to reach out to Avelyn Firestone in game, or even message us through our Tumblr if this is not an option (she can hardly be online 24/7 after all)! We’ve been trying to contact several people in regards to their application and IC interviews, but either people do not reply to us in game despite being messaged several times (we do check for AFK tags), or just don’t seem to be online all that much.

Our community is ran by a handful of individuals, and we simply don’t have the time to constantly chase after people when we’re online (we too like to roleplay and play the game after all).

So please try to contact us after applying!

Either contact Avelyn Firestone in game, or poke our Tumblr. We don’t mind it if people feel the need to contact us several times either, we rather keep people well-informed instead of no communication at all!

Resistance Exclusive Events - A Brief Explanation
 
Every two weeks we hand out task for people’s characters to complete. These will be presented in a Google Docs and linked in our Discord. Members do have the option to point out which tasks they prefer so we can keep them in mind as we assign them. If we cannot assign a person the first time to a preferred task, we will try to do such the next time!

We will ensure every group gets a DM assigned to them and we will shuffle people around in case no fitting time and date can be found. On top of that, we try to keep our groups relatively small so it does not become too hectic for DMs and participants both.

If you look at the little legend in the screenshots above, it’s easy to make out that our task aren’t just combat focused. We want to offer a variety of tasks after all.

We too have solo quests for people who know they will be busy in the upcoming weeks and rather write something out instead.

Last but not least, if understand some people have to work in the weekends. If they can’t make it that day, we will try to pry them into a group if we can.

Hope that explains a bit about the inner workings of the Linkshell’s events!
