When I first made my character, Naih I expected him to be more timid, much like a heroine from Clannad.

While I try to create my own concepts or at the very least give a popular concept my own unique spin on it, there is no doubt some similarities can be found no matter how someone tries to make something unique.Â
In the case of Phae'ra, 2 characters come to mind when it comes to the masked shady character type.
The first being Vega from one of my favorite games growing up. The moment I saw Monk/Pugilist I couldn't help but be reminded of him.Â

 The other character I'm somewhat reminded of would be Hei from the Anime Darker then Black.

Well, Aedan is mostly influenced by his backstory, which dictates how he responds to each situation. But his backstory in turn was influenced by Supernatural. So I've noticed that his personality resembles two different characters. Dean Winchester, in his devotion to his family and that kind of 'daddy's boy' thing he's got going; and Naruto, with his stubborn determination and general hot-headedness.

...Well. As far as Val's looks and personality is concerned, I never really considered anyone to inspire him. I'd just been playing a lot of super good characters and wanted a change. The personality stuck and I really liked him. If I had to pick who he closely resembled, however, it'd be these guys:

I think he has a bit of Spike in him simply because he's incredibly cocky and likes to talk trash during fights/whatever.Â

I choose young Ezio because Val prides himself on the number of ladies he's able to get, even if it's only a mild interest. Young Ezio is also quite fond of talking trash during fights. Especially when he was confronted with "What's wrong? Afraid to handle things yourself?" and responded with, "Your sister seemed quite satisfied with the handling I gave her earlier."
I also think there's a point where, before a fight, he calls out something along the lines of "Let's make this quick. I've got a lady friend to meet after this."

I was influenced by both Hulk Hogan and El Santo when I created Still Mountain.
The concept is simple: A Gladiator who wants to be an example to kids.
Recently he decided he wanted to become a mercenary, so he could travel Eorzea teaching the kids to respect the elders and to not skip meals while battling beasts and doing poses.

I'm drawing some big blanks here thinking about this but I think Jajara's got a bit of John Aversin from Barbara Hambly's Dragonsbane in her. He was a bit of a bumpkin that ended up being given lordship of the desolate north after doing something nobody else could do just because he had to. While Jajara isn't about to go doing any of that, parts of her personality echo Aversin's: both are humble, salt of the earth types who are often dismissed as bumbling bumpkins. Both strive for goodness but are still very much aware of their own weaknesses and shortcomings. Both have dealt with abusive or neglectful parents/guardians, but both strive to better themselves because of it.

I often meld two or more characters that inspire me for background then build up their personality from there. With FFXIV, I like to take certain Square properties and real world personalities.
Suisei'to Ohki: Is my intense character. He has a very specific goal in mind and works tirelessly for it. He's also sarcastic, rude and straight to the point. He has little care for others as long as he gets what he wants.
For inspiration I pulled from Kain Highwind (FFIV) and CM Punk (WWE)
Armin Whiteblade: A fun loving gambler, accomplished bard and a decent merchant. Armin gets buy with a silver tongue and luck, giving him a much more care free personality.
For inspiration I pulled from Setzer Gabbiani (FFVI) and Nathan Fillion
Alwind Ryder: A young Paladin from a long line of Sultansworn, Alwind is trying to find his place in the world. He takes immense pride in his father and mother's accomplishments and has taken to the new way of the Sultansworn: Going freelance. He roams the countryside trying to come to terms his responsibilities, his hormones and the nagging intelligent sword of his father's blade.
For inspiration I pulled from Frog (CT) and Harry Dresden (The Dresden Files)
