RE: ex primals groups - Celeste - 02-20-2014 So I've been lurking around this post because this is definitely relevant to what I'm currently trying to do. :3; So I'm an i90 (just got it yesterday, woo to a successful coil run) and like all of you I've been having a HELL of a time getting groups that are willing to put up with *gasp* LEARNING. This was even more especially frustrating as I picked up the content from scratch and I got bludgeoned, landslided, deadly wheeled, and I'm pretty sure a plane hit me once. Even Mr. Happy's guides do not go over the sheer amount of carnage these fights bring to other people. And they are meant to. And that is fine. But what makes it more frustrating and if anything becomes almost as daunting with these fights is dealing with the PEOPLE that run them. I remember when I would used to brag about people being open, honest, and friendly when doing dungeon runs, FATEs and asking questions about progression. Where the heck did all those people go? Now I know and I understand that these things are hard. I know that people just want to get them done. And it does suck when a person is in the process of learning and they make mistakes: with the run that I am on, Titan EX, one failed DPS pretty much makes the entire run unwinnable... never mind a failed healer or tank. Getting caught in groups with people that consistently causes wipes is frustrating and I don't blame people for not wanting to do them. But at the same time these three strikes you're out rule (which I will agree with synaesthetic about this) is really disruptive to the learning process and if anything maintains a group of people that want to succeed ignorant and the ones that know how to fight together in their own little niches. It's this sort of behavior that I find really disgusting and makes me really disappointed in the members that make high-end PvE their thing. RE: ex primals groups - synaesthetic - 02-20-2014 Currently in XIV due to this being the tail-end of the current content, I don't have a whole lot to do outside of myth capping, Twintania (restricted to certain days and people) and Titan EX. My FC is largely focusing on TT as she's the "final boss" of this particular content tier, but I wouldn't mind doing some Titan EX learning runs with people here who might be interested. If there's enough interest we can form a semi-permanent "non-lockout content learning group" to try and get the extreme primals, etc down and dead without interrupting FC Coil stuff. RE: ex primals groups - Evie - 02-20-2014 I'd be interested in joining such a linkshell if anyone is planning on setting it up. RE: ex primals groups - lia yia - 02-20-2014 Now primals might get to be more of a pain with ready check trolling. This is happening in CT. RE: ex primals groups - Kage - 02-20-2014 Ugh I heard about that. As soon as I get home I'm changing the HUD to try and minimize it as much as possible. I'll gladly join an LS. Would... people want to make it? RE: ex primals groups - Elyscia - 02-20-2014 Butting-in also: Balmung's Finest (#1 - no, seriously,  there are 2 of them. ) LS are also very interested in starting a static Learning Coil group as well from what's bbeen talked about.  I believe there will be posts made by 'teachers' of their available times and people reply if they can make it. Though if a Coil LS is also starting please let me know - I aabsolutely love PVE end-game content but I don't have the people to do it with. And Lia: terribly sorry we couldn't get past Gaurda EX. I think a few times were my fault, but hey, we now have target markers for the ground! I am not in it but I encourage others to join. I may consider making a LS only for the use for dungeons that do not have a lockout but I feel like it would be a little to much effort.. Like getting teachers for learning runs heh. RE: ex primals groups - D R E N - 02-21-2014 Tonight my FC/LS will be running Garuda EX at 8:00 EST time. At this particular time we have an off tank and 3 DPS. If anyone would like to join us please feel free to reply to this thread or send me a PM. We do these runs every Friday and the team consists of RPers from Maid In Heaven and Amity Fields. RE: ex primals groups - Kage - 02-21-2014 (02-20-2014, 05:57 PM)Elyscia Wrote: Butting-in also: Balmung's Finest (#1 - no, seriously,  there are 2 of them. ) LS are also very interested in starting a static Learning Coil group as well from what's bbeen talked about.  I believe there will be posts made by 'teachers' of their available times and people reply if they can make it.Any idea when they might actually be starting one or both? I'd love to join a Learning Coil group or LS for it, or even especially incorporating it with the ex primals stuff. I know that statics won't mean -too- much once 2.2 hits but at the moment my FC's coil static is well... full and static so I'm left trying to PuG T1-2 by myself if I try it. RE: ex primals groups - Illira - 02-21-2014 I'd like to offer some Coil help to people next week if they want it. I'm out of town that Tuesday & Wednesday on business, and will thusly be missing my static's T1-4 run. And if all is according to usual scheduling, won't be running T5 until that Sunday. But I would like to get T1 & T2 cleared for my weekly shot at BiS items (... I had to miss this weeks T1-4 as well, so... yeah, lol). This theoretically leaves me open to help some folks that week, if anyone is interested in setting something up. Let me know here or in a pm and we'll see what we can work out! P.S. I currently am running as an i88 PLD. Statics are gonna still be important.  Even with nerfs I still see current content still being difficult. Just wanted to say that, as her raid leader, Illira is a solid tank and knows her stuff.  I'd love it if she could find a group for the first few turns so she doesn't have to miss out this coming week! If you're in need of a tank, she's definitely worth grabbing for a run! (I'm keeping her though. ;p) RE: ex primals groups - KitKat - 02-21-2014 (02-21-2014, 01:01 PM)ExKage Wrote:(02-20-2014, 05:57 PM)Elyscia Wrote: Butting-in also: Balmung's Finest (#1 - no, seriously,  there are 2 of them. ) LS are also very interested in starting a static Learning Coil group as well from what's bbeen talked about.  I believe there will be posts made by 'teachers' of their available times and people reply if they can make it.Any idea when they might actually be starting one or both? The Coil stuff is not going to be organized (aside from people trying to put their own together) until 2.2 hits and the once a week lockout is lifted for 1-5. Many of us are in statics and can't lock ourselves out for learning parties. But when 2.2 hits, a lot of us are going to be reaching out to get some people through the early turns in Coil. So, for the primal group teaching stuff? "Please look forward to it." All of my Coil-ready friends are in established groups already so I'm mostly just waiting for 2.2 to hit. Bolded for best line :3 RE: ex primals groups - lia yia - 02-23-2014 I put up a group that said "no rage quit" and took a long time to fill up. I am about ready to use myth for the new craftable weapons coming in 2.2. |
