Is this the gear we'll be able to get using the Poetic Tomes? I'm sort of confused with all the terms flying around. It fits more the style of coil and if I can't earn this just with tomes, I think I'm going to cry.

Yes, those are the Ironwork pieces you'll be purchasing with Allagan tomestones of poetics. Just as you purchased Masterwork pieces with Allagan tomestones of soldiery.

I'm not a fan of the Magitek stuff at all. Mostly because it looks too sci-fi; I'd feel like I belonged in FFXIII's Cocoon. Awesome for the Garlean RPers and those who'd like to go for that aesthetic, though!

I believe the coil gear is the Dreadwyrm set which would be this...

Wyrm as in a dragon. And certainly the staffs have a 'dragon wing' sort of style going on.

So do we just not know what the pvp gear will look like? Because the picture they put in the patch notes had new weapons, but the same 30-40 armor.

That is the new armour. It's basically a recolour of the last set.
If you look at the gear list it's gone from, say, 'Bearsmaw' gear to 'Bearliege' gear.
