RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Asyria - 08-02-2013 I got myself Recettear and it's fun and cute. Still fooling around Shadowrun Returns Still playing some SWTOR, cause I've been pretty slow with it and decided I wanted to see ALL the stories now. Going out seeing friends and stuff. RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Magellan - 08-02-2013 Honestly, our FC's Skype RP has been as addicting as crack o.o I haven't needed any other distraction RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Felix Sideris - 08-02-2013 (08-02-2013, 12:29 PM)Magellan Wrote: Honestly, our FC's Skype RP has been as addicting as crack o.oxD I'm relatively new to the community so I haven't gotten into any Free Companies or Linkshells yet. So we'll see! I kinda wanted to find one ICly instead of just joining one that seems good and making an IC reason for my character to join, you know? It shoots myself in the foot at the same time, though. I'm in RP withdrawl. Would be nice to see more FC's/LS's recruit ICly, rather than OOCly world shouts. In the meantime, you could always start a bunch of Open RP threads here on the RPC! I think there is an RPC RP Skype channel too, but I could be wrong RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Felix Sideris - 08-02-2013 (08-02-2013, 12:48 PM)Magellan Wrote:I'm used to IC guild recruitment because of World of Warcraft. A lot of guides there advertised OOCly, but the recruitment was largely done ICly and usually you would have to do some kind of application on their guide website. It was pretty fun, I used to be a recruiter for my friend's guild and I would spend some days just sitting in a tavern interviewing people like crazy. xD(08-02-2013, 12:40 PM)Felix Wrote:(08-02-2013, 12:29 PM)Magellan Wrote: Honestly, our FC's Skype RP has been as addicting as crack o.oxD I'm relatively new to the community so I haven't gotten into any Free Companies or Linkshells yet. Maybe I should start an open RP thread. Hmmm... RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - sanguineFenrir - 08-02-2013 I'd like to comment on FC's and Skype: I'm used to seeing IC recruitment as well, though I've seen both. I've joined several  RP guilds on an OOC first basis, because that was how they operated. (i.e., they were game first, RP later.) But, once I was invited to the guild, the other members would presume to already know my character and things about them (even without me telling them while in character.) It was very mild and never referenced anything specific to my character's backstory, but I always felt off-kilter whenever a guild tried to do that, as I don't play characters that are well-known or overly open. It was very difficult for me to interact with them because of the stylistic difference. As you can tell by my user info, I already have one LS, which seems like it will be a small group. That's good, and I expect to have more LS's for different purposes. However, I'd really like to find an FC that isn't too large and fits my character, and build up a good foundation with them on IC (and perhaps OOC) levels. I have seen Skype RP referenced multiple times and I believe Gerik has a thread with the details. A general RP chat does sound like it could be entertaining, but I'm not sure how well I would mesh with the group, particularly an established one. (I bring Skype up because I'm pining for the game a bit, and tend to laze in front of my computer rather than playing my PS3 as I had intended.) RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Kellen whitewolf - 08-02-2013 ive been playing grandia 1 and checking post on hear but its still hard especially when trying to sleep lol RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Raccoon - 08-03-2013 Let's see... Anime is keeping me distracted even though there's not a whole lot that's captivating me this season (Majestic Prince, Free!, A Certain Scientific Railgun, etc). I've been puttering about on Marvel Heroes since it's f2p and it's got Rocket Raccoon. Honestly, it's about like Minesweeper in my mind. Something to fiddle with between other things or when those other things are getting boring. I've been half-heartedly puttering around in the Shadowrun Returns editor. Pretty much just seeing what it can do right now rather than actively trying to make anything. Oh, and still puttering around on Champions Online, though it keeps driving me off to do other things on account of being all stale and uneventful. Hm... a lot of puttering in hindsight. RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Selsix - 08-03-2013 Staring at my character on the benchmark... ... ...I think I have a problem. Is it phase 4 yet? RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Chance - 08-05-2013 I just randomly picked FFVII back up and it proving to be a good distraction along with Dissidia 012, Birth by sleep, and Crisis Core. I beat most of them already, but there is nothing like picking up Kain and laying waste. ![]() RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Zyrusticae - 08-05-2013 I already have far too many distractions as it is, between Phantasy Star Online 2 (goddamn, that game's a timesink), Skullgirls, a whole crapton of other random games, a bunch of anime from this season (I'm following like 7 shows right now), and a whole bunch of internet stuff... it is simply impossible for me to fathom someone who is unable to find ways to keep busy while waiting for phase 4 to start. Speaking of PSO2, have some character shots: RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Merri - 08-10-2013 Set out with a goal to complete the Chains of Promathia expansion from start to finish the other week when I started playing XI. Today, I've finished that journey. Was even more amazing than I remembered it. Still takes the #1 spot in storyline for me as far as video games are concerned. Hell, almost in general. Unfortunately, far sooner than open beta. Now I gotta find something to occupy me until then. : < ![]() ![]() RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - S'demyx Tia - 08-12-2013 I browse these forums like a mad man. And draw peoples characters for fun, at least when I'm not working. RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Adolar - 08-12-2013 I've been trying to get through my list of Steam games. Playing through Ys: The Oath in Felghana and Sleeping Dogs at the moment. RE: The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4 - Rinh Hallani - 08-13-2013 Playing WoW and watching Gavin & Stacey for the fourth time. |
