Highest defense in game, paired with DoTs like toxic, or gimmicky things like swapping his defenses for offenses. Don't underestimate the rock mold. RE: The Pokémon Thread! - mongi291 - 02-13-2016 On an unrelated note, even X and Y, the easiest games in the series, can become hard if: 1) You play them with nuzlocke rules. 2) No EXP share. 3) No grinding. 4) You can use only normal Pokèballs. The Team Flare arc left me only with Greninja and Yveltal, and I'm conflicted if I should use the latter or not. A Shuckle holding leftovers that knows toxic, double team and rest (fourth move doesn't matter, but I went with Sandstorm) can basically outlast anything that isn't a straight one-hit kill. Oh, and he can have Sturdy, which prevents OHKOs from killing him. Enjoy your STAB super effective moves doing like, 30-40 damage, provided they can even hit him. Admittedly, that set-up couldn't do much against anything immune to poison, but it was incredibly resilient. RE: The Pokémon Thread! - Alderique - 02-13-2016 This is probably a good time to ask: I thought I had a Contrary shuckle, but I don't! Does anyone have one they'd be willing to breed for me, or let me borrow one to breed? There's more to Pokemon than pseudolegendaries. RE: The Pokémon Thread! - Aaron - 02-13-2016 It was just a example. That isn't the only steel type to know iron defense RE: The Pokémon Thread! - Alderique - 02-13-2016 (02-13-2016, 02:16 PM)Aaron Wrote: It was just a example. That isn't the only steel type to know iron defense I want to experiment using binding moves and/or poison. A Contrary ability shuckle raises its defense and special defense when using Shell Smash, at the expense of greatly reducing its offenses and speed. But its damage would come from the damage over time, not it's offensive stats. It may not work out, but I'm curious to see how it plays out, and I thought it might round out a team I'm toying with. RE: The Pokémon Thread! - mongi291 - 02-13-2016 I don't really do competitive battling mostly because I just don't want to use the strongest Pokèmon or be berated for my choice otherwise. All my favourites aren't even close to being viable for competitive, mostly because there are other Pokèmon that are better at their job (example: Dunsparce is outclassed by Togekiss and Jirachi). Dunsparse is a personal favorite of mine. Along with Smeargle and Shedinja. I tried going online battling and the only pseudolegendary or higher I had was Tyranitar. -> proceeds to battle nothing but teams full of legendary Pokemon non stop. I haven't met one person online who battled with less than 5 legendary Pokemon yet. It's funny though because I can just imagine their rage when my Aggron ohko's they're Zekrom with a dragon rush lol. But on the other hand, I'd be hard pressed to find a Pokèmon I DON'T like. I think the only ones I hate are Rhyperior and Hawlucha. |
