Looking for friends - Pyrecrow - 04-19-2015
So I'm brand new to FFXIV, just picked the game up the other week. Needless to say I've been spending that time acquainting myself with the in's and out's of the game, but.......... I'm also an RPer and the two biggest RP servers are locked. While I've not discounted the idea of transferring to either of those servers, I would like to find some fellow RPers elsewhere in the mean time. I haven't really settled on one server just yet because I'm trying to find my niche.
I'd appreciate it if some friendly RPers here might help me find my community.

There are small RP communities elsewhere, but they are few and far between.. you may find one if you poke around here.
I know you can create characters on Balmung at late hours, so it is not hopeless if you decide to try, but it is far from convenient :/

That's what I've gathered so far, its a bit disheartening. I've tried rolling a character on Balmung late at night and its always closed.

Between 2-5am PST or immediately after maintenance has been the best window in my experience.

Yes, after maintenance is the easiest way to get in. It tends to be open for a few hours after maintenance finishes at 9 or 10 am GMT (4 or 5 am EST). You can also subscribe to this thread as people bump it when creation is open. Edit: Next maintenance is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
Oooor you can create on another server and pay to transfer three days later. Not a popular option but still an option.
