Yes. - GRAVEï¼ï¼¡ï¼® - 06-15-2015 After being told about this website from someone that I came across during RP, I decided to sign up and make an account to check things out. Some of the faces here look familiar and I'm pretty sure my character Frederick is recognizable as well. I've been a longtime roleplayer starting from Neverwinter Nights and I've migrated throughout many RP communities in games such as World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, Guild Wars 2, etc. I've been solo freestyling my RP experience ever since I bought the game a month ago, meeting other characters ICly and doing my best to bring people together on a whim, friends and strangers alike. So far it's been giving me a good old vibe that I haven't felt since I first roleplayed in Neverwinter Nights. I like it. RE: Yes. - Rosamund - 06-15-2015 Hello and welcome! I also started RPing in Neverwinter Nights! Lots of good memories. I got a friend who still plays on Amia after all this time. Hope you continue to enjoy your stay on Balmung! RE: Yes. - Nebbs - 06-15-2015 Welcome, I love your open approach to RP. On the forums I would check out the [RP Linkskell & Free Company Lists for Balmung] for things that suit you. Fell free to come join us in [Hugs & Cakes Link Shell] where there is a nice positive bunch of RPers. RE: Yes. - Faye - 06-15-2015 Hello there, welcome! RE: Yes. - Bryn - 06-15-2015 Yo! Welcome to Balmizzle and the RPC. RE: Yes. - Aya - 06-15-2015 Welcome! ^_^ RE: Yes. - RiniKett - 06-15-2015 Welcome to the Madhouse! Also, welcome! Honest/weird question, what are some of your best pick-up lines/tactics for getting others to start to RP with you? RE: Yes. - Olofantur - 06-15-2015 Look at all these people! being all welcoming and stuff. Bunch of posers. Anyroad, welcome to the Show! sounds like you've got quite a bit of experience under your belt, which is always nice when making your way in a new world. Out of curiosities sake, did you only play the original NWN? I enjoyed it a great deal, but hordes of the Underdark and Shadows of the Undertide expanded my love of it quite a bit. Hope to see you in Eorzea! RE: Yes. - GRAVEï¼ï¼¡ï¼® - 06-15-2015 (06-15-2015, 02:29 PM)LiadansWhisper Wrote: Oh goodness!  Which servers did you play on in NWN?   I still miss that platform! I've been on a lot of big Persistent World servers like Amia and Arelith, but I've also RPed on a string of old Local Vault RP servers hosted by a tight-knit community. It all depends on what I can garner from first looks, really. I usually try to attract RPers who look like they're waiting for something to happen. My best tactic was to host public buffets welcome to anyone who wishes to join. Through experience, the best way for me to start RPing someone is to catch them off guard through the use of quirky interactions. Here are some of the lines that I've used in the Quicksand as an example: "You know, with all of the people trying to challenge Momodi to Triple Triad she ought to enlist in a tournament." "Don't your legs hurt from standing in the same spot all the time?" "Why are there so many miqo'te here?" "What book are you reading?" "I'm hungry. Are you hungry?" Nine times out of ten, this method works for me. Personally, I'd rather see people enjoying themselves on the tables than standing on the fence all day. That's why I've decided to bring people together to help build the tavern atmosphere. (06-15-2015, 03:20 PM)Olofantur Wrote: Out of curiosities sake, did you only play the original NWN? After beating the campaigns, I moved onto trying out the multiplayer and that's where I first developed my hobby of roleplaying. I visited both but never stayed.  I primarily played on Forgotten Realms: Cormyr and Cormyr and the Dalelands. I built for a few servers, too.  ^_^  great to see someone from NWN playing FFXIV, tho. I remember seeing those servers on the server browser before the master server went down. I've only RPed on Cormyr on and off with small characters. |
