Ishgardian Festival - Interest check! - Virella - 07-14-2015

After HW release, and the amazing lore we've gotten, I found that Ishgardians have a lot of festivals, next to the holiday ones we already know!

However, I would need some volunteers for people to help me out with brainstorming some ideas, and as sadly enough Garland Tools is not working for me currently, I cannot look up the fine details.

From the top of my head I do know they celebrate the new Dragoons/Knights being taken into their orders, have a festival were they relive the Autumn War and another with putting flower crown's onto children's head. The fine details are missing currently, but either of those three could possibly make for a server wide event!

Let me know if you would be interested in visiting such an event, and if you would like to help out IC/OOC!

Alueaux would definitely show face. Despite being a gloomy dragoon he would be loathe to miss a celebration that involves drink, food and perhaps a bit of combat thrown in. (As a spectator of course.)

I am super in! It's funny, I was just talking to a friend about something like this so it is awesome to see there is other interest in getting us Ishgardians together. I would be more than happy to help brainstorm some ideas, get stuff together or even just do some lore fact checking Tongue. I am now abnormally excited about this XD!

Well, Dropping the Mhigan line here, I would be happy to help organize the aggressors side of the Autumn war reenactment if you'd like. I am hoping to do Early Autumn war reenactment for my own Mhigan festival coming soon enough so it'll really help get a good breadth of the war going. We should try and contact Sounssy for some help on this too.

Reiner ICly would be interested as well as Mhigan nobility and former military. He's all about outreach and building ties. So I'm doubly in.

That was exactly what I was thinking!

The Autumn War celebrations in Ishgard seems to be all about 're-enacting' the whole thing; in fact, it is all but re-enacting, and just a reason to celebrate and let knights punch eachother in the dirt to strike their ego, even the knight who were playing the Ala Mhigans win at times because Ishgardians are hard about tossing their pride aside, and do not stick to how history goes. Some leve lore on the festival!

However turning it into an Ishgard vs Ala Mhigo event type of thing, of course all very friendly (a little bit at least!) festival would be very fun to Smile

If you want shoot me a message ingame or in PM; but for now I am going to lay down because I slept terribly and I need a nap!

Reiner... You need to be Gylbarde and I will be Vainchelon, and we can do a FFIX inspired fight. We can even play "Feel My Blade" and chuckle like dorks.

Well, if that's how it's got to be...

I'd like to see some "serious" ceremonies being held, such as ones related to titles and knighthoods. But "happy" celebrations feel a bit out of place in Ishgard as of now, dunno. Might be just me. Eorzea's got plenty of happy cities where to celebrate, I thought it was nice to have a city set up for more serious and gloomy atmospheres, personally.

It's my opinion to think that while things have taken a few turns. This war has been going on for quite some time. The Citizenry and such is quite removed, as for the need to continue to maintain moral during a war that has become the largest part of Ishgardian life for generations. Such things would be incredibly important even if while festive, they continue the somber tone of the ishgardian society.

The inclusion of adventurers and the alliance presence seems to give some of the NPC's especially the disenfranchised ones cause to be hopeful.

RE: Ishgardian Festival - Interest check! - Martiallais - 07-14-2015

I'd be willing to toss Martiallais in for participating/helping out with some festivals, of course. Cool

i would like to Join too.

RE: Ishgardian Festival - Interest check! - V'aleera - 07-14-2015

Sounds like a fantastic idea.

RE: Ishgardian Festival - Interest check! - Virella - 07-14-2015

Personally I think the reason why Ishgard has so many festivals is to keep the citizens happy; to make it all gloomy would have quite the opposite effect after all!

Thank you all for the input so far, if you have any questions and stuff, please post them here, or throw them to me ingame or message on the forum.

Now off to some brainstorming, and some tea /had just woken up
