Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 07-17-2015 Pinned to the noticeboards in the adventurers guild, and tacked to those within the crafting guilds of the realm, a multitude of blue and yellow fliers entreat onlookers to a contest of hammer and awl. ---- Amateur Artisans
The Heartwood Trading Company is full glad to present an opportunity for novices and artisans alike to both learn and further their skills in the crafting of the realms required goods. Each week, the crafts mistress Korah Nellemond will be hosting a contest for those less inclined to the disciplines of the Hand to compete in small teams of three or less to test their mettle against their fellow inexperienced initiates. The most adept with unfamiliar tools will receive a generous sum to further their new-found trade. The discipline of focus for the first of these competitions is the working of hard metals into arms and armor. Those more inclined to the procurement of materials should inquire with Heartwood for employment opportunities to supply the event with required materials. Those skilled in a trade are urged to contact the event organizer if they've an interest in overseeing an event related to their trade. Rules: 1.This event is open to those characters who are unfamiliar with Tradecraft IN CHARACTER, as a means to further interest in the less martial paths throughout Eorzea. Anyone is welcome to attend, but characters that are experienced blacksmiths will not be able to compete in an event focused on their trade. If anyone is interested in a competition for characters -with- skill in a trade, keep an eye out for a future event. 2. Until I have the event more established, or get some volunteers to help observe our aspiring artisans, I'll only be accepting up to four teams of three characters or less. Preference will be given to those who contact ahead of time. 3. Sabotage of opposing teams is strictly forbidden. Anyone caught doing so will be immediately disqualified. 4. You cannot work alone, a partner or team is required to participate. How it works: Each team will get a total of six 'synthesis rolls', to be done with the /random in game feature after a post about what it is they are trying to do with their creation. For a team of three, each member gets two each, for a partnership, three. Working without a team or partner will not be allowed. After all 'actions' for that team are completed, the total will be tallied. The team with the highest average (Not the highest total) will be the winner. Time and Place: Fridays at 9pm EST! Location for the next event will be posted a few days before it. RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 07-22-2015 The first event will held at the Moraby Drydocks in Lower La Noscea, this friday (The 24/7) RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - M'isha - 07-23-2015 This is wonderful! Would anyone like to partner up with me? My character is an alchemist ICly inexperienced with smithing but has seen it around her most of her life because she is from La Noscea. Are there any La Noscea/Limsa-based character who would team up? : D RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Sylastair - 07-24-2015 (07-23-2015, 01:22 AM)M Wrote: This is wonderful! Also, M'isha Flynt was originally born in Limsa so maybe we can work something out beforehand to get these two on a team if you are still looking for an inexperienced partner in crime! crafting! RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Zanther - 07-24-2015 Hum...sounds intresting. Zazanther has been debaiting about Goldsmithing for a while now and this might be a good thing for him to participate in. RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - abnormalnomad - 07-24-2015 I'm really interested in attending this on my Roegadyn, Dhemitar! Although, I have to ask, when is this going to be held? It's today (7/24), Moraby Drydocks in La Noscea, but at what time? Would probably be very useful to have that in the main post! RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - banndsand - 07-24-2015 My Jakatolui might make an appearance. She thinks she's an expert blacksmith, but... eh, she really isn't. I might have to coerce her into going. ![]() EDIT: (07-24-2015, 08:36 AM)abnormalnomad Wrote: I'm really interested in attending this on my Roegadyn, Dhemitar! Aye, the time for all these events every week will be 9pm EST. Though I'll modify the main post to show the time in more than just the title, just in case folks miss it. The events will run in different locations, depending on the craft we're focusing on that week. Next week is the Bismarck in Limsa, for example. Three guesses what the theme of that one will be. Anyone who wants to participate but doesn't have a partner organized, fret not! I'll be pairing/teaming any lone wolves together on the day, just turn up a bit early! It's great to see some interest in this! I was starting to get a -mite- bit disheartened. If it's food next time, can people spectate and then eat the food? :D RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 07-24-2015 Starting up now! Ever so slightly late! RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Korinth - 07-24-2015 Our winner this week is Flynt Knoltros, with his mostly well made spearhead! He won 100k gil, to learn how to do details a bit better! Thanks to Zazanther Rerenther and Jakatolui Noyakir for their slightly misshapen ring, and over-weighted sword, respectively! The event this week had no teams, due to a lack of participants, so I may consider dropping the requirement altogether. Next week, we will have a competition of Culinarians and their (hopefully) only slightly charred works, at the Bismarck in Limsa Lominsa. RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - abnormalnomad - 07-24-2015 Ack! I missed this! I wish I could have been there! My apologies! ;_; I won't be able to attend the next one, but I'll definitely try to be there for the one on 8/7! RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - banndsand - 07-24-2015 Jakatolui had a lot of fun, as did I. I look forward to spectating next week. :) Thanks for organising it! :D RE: Amateur Artisans (Fridays 9pm EST) - Reiner Dorn - 07-25-2015 I cannot wait for Carpentry week, totes excited! |
