Common Knowledge about Carteneau - Erah'sae - 12-09-2015 his came up while discussing some backstory issues our little Keeper family... How much about the Battle of Carteneau,  Louisoix, and Bahamut is common knowledge? Everyone pretty much knows about the Dalamud and Bahamut coming out of it, but what of the details?  Is Bahamut generally believed by the populous to be dead / defeated?  Anything about the 'Flames of Truth' video as well? How common (if at all) would knowledge of the Coils of Bahamut raid's story be at this point as well? The Coils of Bahamut story is completely unknown if your character did not complete the storyline. The last cutscene after T13 goes over how Alphinaud, Alisae, and Urianger seal the coils and agree never to record or divulge the truth behind the Calamity. For fear someone would attempt to summon Phoenix or Bahamut again as a Primal. As far as the world is concerned, Louisoix died in the Calamity. I don't think even Minfillia or the other Scions are aware of the truth. Now, in so far as the Battle of Carteneau, there were plenty of survivors to tell the tales. I'd actually recommend reading the Tales from the Calamity short stories for a better understanding of what's common knowledge. In short, it is common knowledge that the Eorzean Alliance battled Garlemald's VIIth Legion. The battle was going in the Alliance's favor until Dalamud descended and broke apart releasing the monstrous primal upon the world. In these final moments, Eorzea's linkpearls and aetherytes broke and the Alliance fell into disarray. Orders to retreat were given through thr ranks on foot, but a band of adventurers called the Twelvesblades advanced to allow the Eorzean Alliance to retreat. These Twelvesblades guarded Archon Louisoix while he attempted to summon the Twelve. He was unable to completely and him and the Twelvesblades were lost. Because of Louisoix's time spell, these adventurers were forgotten for a time. When one tried to recall their faces, they would only see a silhouette surrounded by light, hence the name: warriors of light. In the storyline, this memory loss f as des and gets lifted now that the so-called "warriors of light" have returned. Somehow I had missed those short stories in my web searching.  I'm reading them now.  (here goes my lunch break.) Thanks for the information!  I hadn't done the binding coils yet and had only seen the cut-scenes from the first set. |
