Ooh man, it's been probably a decade or more since I've joined a forum, so this is kind of an adventure. Hello, hi! Name's Jack. I'm both new to FFXIV and RPing in an MMO (I've done various types of RP for years outside of MMOs), so I'm a little .. I guess unsure of how that all works.
I'm primarily on Sargatanas, but I have a character on Mateus as well (as I heard it was a good RP server, and Balmung is closed). My character's name is Atticus Knight, and he is an Au ra pugilist. He punches real good, but can only communicate using gestures and impressions (or emotes) as he is mute due to an injury to his throat.Â
As for Me. Uh.. I like to do writing things and arty things, I'm shy with social anxiety all over the place. I may not be very good at being active on a forum, but I am happy to be here! Thank you for reading!

Hiya there and welcome to the RPC!
MMO RP works pretty similar to the other kinds, minus having a DM who generally oversees things and keeps everyone in check. That responsibility is shifted onto the players outside of maybe events or planned scenes where someone takes on a DMed role.

If you're still making your way through the game or think you might've missed some critical lore somewhere along the way, there's a good chance that Sounsyy's written a post on it here or over on tumblr. The Lore board on the Official Forums also generally has some pretty writeups by Anony Moose. If you need some primers, here's what I usually recommend browsing through.

Other than that...I think most of our sections are pretty self-explanatory! If RPing on Mateus, I would recommend joining the the Mateus RP Hub Discord server. They've got some similar sections as the RPC, but more focused on just Mateus. https://discord.gg/HPbYNFU It's also got some additional links to other Mateus resources that may not always be found on the RPC. (FFXIV doesn't have any single place to find everything, just like how there's no official RP server. The RPC's intention is to be the main hub site for it all though!)
And if you run into any issues on the forums in terms or features, BBCode, wiki editing, etc, don't hesitate to contact me! There are some forum software quirks due to all the plugins we've got installed! There's also a chat feature enabled on the bottom of the page. By default, you'll need to join one of the rooms to see any activity there.

 I will definitely read through them. I have some vague knowledge of the world or history. A bunch of co-workers play and would gush at me about the lore and story which is what convinced me to join up (I usually don't play MMO's since I'm so shy, but I've really fallen in love with this one lol)And thank you for the welcome!! ;;v;; <33
