Tribe locations known? - Izmina - 07-26-2013 Random question, and sorry if this is covered some place. Is there any thing stating what area each of the known Miqo'te tribes are from? I don't want to place my cat in the wrong area since her name dictates her tribe.lol RE: Tribe locations known? - Desmond Aryll - 07-26-2013 (07-26-2013, 11:49 PM)Izmina Wrote: Random question, and sorry if this is covered some place. Also there are are many Miqo'te from the Gridania area as they rival the Elezen in Archery philosophy so there must be a few tribes from there. RE: Tribe locations known? - FreelanceWizard - 07-26-2013 Originally from? There's not, no. According to the dev posts, they came across frozen seas during the Fifth Umbral Era, following prey. Currently from? Other than tribes that appear in game (and the only example that I personally know of is the one already mentioned), there's not, no. We do know that Seekers predominantly make their homes around Limsa Lominsa and in the Sagolii Desert in southern Thanalan. Of course, it's not really important narratively since Seeker tribes readily branch off as they acquire territory, so you can plausibly be from wherever you want. Keepers are a different story. They don't really have tribes per se, so much as small family groups, and they predominantly live in the Black Shroud. RE: Tribe locations known? - Izmina - 07-27-2013 My Miqo'te is a seeker, and will call Gridania home, but I didn't want to break lore so am thinking she was born in the desert, being from I tribe, Does that sound logical? RE: Tribe locations known? - FreelanceWizard - 07-27-2013 That's totally fine. I would expect tribal Seekers would be from either La Noscea or the Sagolii desert. Beyond that, you pretty much have complete freedom to place your character as you see fit. Of course, you'll want to have some reasons why and how you got to Gridania, but coming up with that is part of the fun of writing your backstory. RE: Tribe locations known? - Xha'li Moui - 07-27-2013 I pretty much had to do the opposite with my Keeper, give him a reason to go from Gridania(or the edge of the Black Shroud at least) and wind up in Limsa Lolimsa so he could be an arcanist. See either his wiki or back story which is linked from his wiki to see how he got from there to here. RE: Tribe locations known? - Sounsyy - 07-28-2013 Hey Izmina! We actually have some info about this from ARR. The predominant tribe that has made their home in the Sagolii Desert is the Drake tribe, which is represented by the letter "U". However, as there are many Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te who wander the desert and eventually wind up in camps around Thanalan and sometimes Ul'dah, you can feel free to have your tribe origins come from anywhere really. But as was already mentioned in this thread, the predominant homes for the tribes are La Noscea and the Sagolii Desert. This does not mean however that Miqo'te from these tribes don't frequently travel outside of these areas.
