ok what i want to know is are you able use gloves/bare hands ? or is it just hand weapons ?

Unfortunately, we only have access to hand-to-hand weapons right now. No bare hands. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually added an item because of the vanity system that would hide your hand-to-hand, but I wouldn't count on it.
Suffice it to say, lore-wise the class of Pugilist and job of Monk traditionally use weapons, so it'd probably be stranger to see some one not using anything, than to see some one using something.

I'd love the option to use basic bladed fisticuffs- not those massive hand eating suckers. Or just Brass Knuckles...
You'd think an Asian game would really give a solid nod to the traditional forms of martial arts more... use of the tonfa, sai, nunchuku, bo... bare hands.
Maybe in an expansion... *grins*
In the meantime, I'll just RP and model my Monk into whom I want by fiddling with the relevant different classes.
