You can always try now. Â It's in the "wee hours" and they have been lifting the character creation restrictions during periods of low population.

Balmung still not accepting new characters. Beta extended til 8 am PDT (4 pm BST) but not much point in my playing if I still can't create on Balmung. Sigh.

Well it's more of a gesture than anything. They can't really do any major extension since they need time to work on everything between OB and EA.

Yes it looks like they're keeping the Legacy servers closed, though they had Gilgamesh open. Â Maintenance happening now so I hope people can still make characters for a time after that.
