Races and NPC Conversations - KitKat - 08-26-2013

So I'm a little disappointed that the developers didn't bother to alter certain NPC conversations based on disposition. The Wildwood Elezen archer, Silvairre, doesn't change his conversations if you are also a Wildwood. He just acts like you aren't one, saying things like:

"Archery is the proud tradition of the Wildwood Elezen. The essence of this art-to read one's enemy-has been instilled in us over centuries. In that time, we have defended this great nation against every imaginable foe, granting us insight which you will never possess."

BUT I AM ALSO A WILDWOOD ELEZEN, SILVAIRRE!

Does this bug anyone else?

Oh my GOD YES!!!! I thought I was the only one!!

He also claimed I wasn't forest-born, and Iwas like 'uh... yes I am...'. I felt like he was invalidating my entire existence ;__;

Don't take it too personal, he was probably drunk. ^^;

(Meaning yeah it's a bit annoying and I loved SWTOR for changing NPC convo based on race/class at times, but hey, you can always ignore it or make up a reason why they don't notice)

It's disappointing that they don't take notice of stuff like that. It really adds to the immersion.

That has always bugged me in any game like that. Seriously... acknowledge me for what I am.

RE: Races and NPC Conversations - Asyria - 08-26-2013

It reminds me of that derp Kelgar in NWN2... dwarf wanna be a monk. I tried playing a dwarf monk just for the lols... and... he never noticed. >.>

On a positive note, it's really cool that NPCs, even chocobos actually look at you when you walk up to them.

Makes you feel that you're character actually exists in the world.
