Balmung In Character Twitter Project - Sego - 01-05-2014 I have decided to start up an in character Final Fantasy XIV Twitter project! Other MMOs have done it for roleplay with wonderful success and I haven't seen one around for FFXIV. I've worked through some kinks on how to make it lorewise and have instructions if you want to participate! So I'm going to use just a bit of the WoW ideas with this, which should incorporate just fine into FFXIV. Upon first glance, these books seem plain, their leather covers and vellum pages only slightly worn and musty. However, if you were to ask, no one could say when these books first appeared around random places in Gridania, Ul'dah, and Limsa Lominsa, marking them as anything but ordinary. With further inspection of these books a person would find writing, doodles, or scribbles that appear magically in the pages after names or alias'. Should one want to write in these pages, they simply have to write a name they wish to be addressed as, real or not, and either express themselves alone or write replies to those that have done the same. Due to it's magic, perhaps being discarded or defective codex, the book will shine with a faint glow should a new message appear. Unfortunately, perhaps because of that magic being faulty, only short messages can be written on a given page. OOC stuff! So there are some shortcuts and little things to add in when you're roleplaying over twitter with your 'magic book.'
Twitter RP is a super easy way to RP from anywhere with twitter mobile. I just keep an eye on my follower list and follow back people that are also part of the project. Keep in mind some spam blogs may follow you, so making your description about being an IC twitter to keep track of each other. Your character can only see the writing and the name after the @, they can't see the twitter description, the icon, your listed name, or profiles. For an example of what an established IC twitter looks like, take a peek at my old and now inactive warcraft one. My new one for my miqo'te, Manji, is here. Follow me, I'll follow you, and perhaps look through my follower list for others part of the project. I'll also sometimes go through other people's follower/ing lists to find more members of the projects. If you've never used twitter, give it a shot! No pressure to keep up with it if you don't like it, but some of my best RPs have happened over twitter. If you give it a try, reply with your twitter name! I'd love to RP with you! RE: Balmung In Character Twitter Project - Ander - 01-07-2014 A screenshot of how the RP tends to work! Basically you just dig through someone's follower list and add everyone that has themselves tagged as a roleplayer, and jump on in! People will follow you back when they notice you've followed them. c: It's a lot of fun and an interesting way to RP! It's also good for meeting new roleplayers out of the game and later arranging some in-game meetings. RE: Balmung In Character Twitter Project - Bryn - 01-07-2014 Fun! I'm in: @BrynhildeWulf. Add me! RE: Balmung In Character Twitter Project - Frederique - 01-07-2014 Ah, the good ol' days. The template you used was made by a co-worker of mine back in the day. He started a thread on his WoW server, I did on mine. Good times, good times. Lots of fun to be had! Sign up for it! RE: Balmung In Character Twitter Project - Lutra - 01-16-2014 Heyas~ I saw this thread a while ago, but I forgot to post on it. My IC twitter for Rhesh'ir is @abardslife. Feel free to add me! Beware of silliness, though. C: Edit: I went through and added everyone that other people were following. Hope that's okay! RE: Balmung In Character Twitter Project - Valke - 01-25-2014 I have no idea what I'm doing \o/Â @CielLazuli |
