Seeking Crafters/Gatherers Thread. - Knight Kat - 02-17-2014 Heya everyone. I created this thread to make a place that people could go to, and post requests for RP crafters and gatherers. However, this is a work in progress. I occasionally see threads where crafting is requested, but if no one immediately responds, the request gets lost in the flood of new threads that get put up everyday. Hopefully, with people posting requests here, the thread will get bumped often, and it will draw the attention of RP crafters and gatherers. Feel free to post crafting/gathering requests on this thread! Update: I wish to announce that someone has stepped forth to fulfill my request. Also, in response to everyone else. I have decided that the crafting requests don't necessarily need to be RP-related. Anyone is free to post a request to this thread. And crafters/gatherers may also create a sort-of profile on this thread to advertise their IC and OOC skills. Guidelines for requests: Is this an IC or OOC request? Perhaps both? Please specify. If you have a RP directory, link it. If not, specify your average play times and time zone. Specify if you are willing to pay actual gil, but DO NOT state how much. That is a discussion for in-game or PMs. This is not an auction thread. Specify if you are going to provide materials. Specify how crafters/gatherers may contact you. Specify weather or not you want HQ (High Quality) items. Update your post when you've found someone who will, or has fulfilled your request. I may be forgetting some things, but just make sure to try and think about what a carafter/gather should know about your request. Guidelines for Crafters and/or Gatherers. DO NOT spam this thread with ads. Make a single profile post, and update it. Specify your preferences on what the requesters should bring. In other words, if you want them to provide materials, specify. DO NOT list gil prices. Again this is not an auction thread. I ask this because I think everyone should have equal opportunity to succeed at getting requests fulfilled, and attracting people who want to use their services. Specify IC and OOC crafting/gathering professions and skills. Specify how you would like requesters to contact you. Remember, this thread is for unofficial, in-game crafting/gathering services. Anything that looks like it might be an ad for something else outside the game might summon a lvl 99 (Extreme Mode) Pissed Off Freelance Wizard with perma thread-destroying ability. Lets try to avoid that please... Be civil. This is not an Ul'dah market for cut-throat merchants and cheaters. If anyone cheats anybody, DO NOT report them on this thread. Discreetly send me a PM about it. I have no authority to do anything , but if I get too many warnings about a specific person, I will discreetly see if I can find a civil way to deal with the issue. Unfortunately, I have no real ability to do anything, so I take no responsibility for the actions of others. Just make sure to be cautious in these dealings. Final Note: This thread was made to help people. I cannot stress enough how important it is that we stay civil, polite, discreet and on topic. Lets all benefit from this thread, and NOT get it locked or deleted. Happy Hunting everyone RE: Seeking Crafters/Gatherers Thread. - Cato - 02-18-2014 Oh, I'm glad you made this thread - I'm sure it'll be very useful! I've been putting it off for far too long so I might as well throw a request out there: I'm looking for someone capable of melding materia to a Champion's Lance for my Gae Bolg relic weapon quest. I'm willing to tip and have the materials myself. I'm not sure how the process works exactly so you'll have to guide me through it, though! RE: Seeking Crafters/Gatherers Thread. - Maril - 02-18-2014 Very nice thread  Would you mind hearing from people who can simply offer their crafts? If so.. I have Leatherworker, Carpenter and Cooking at level 50 - next up to 50 is weaver. I also have Fishing at 50. I'd be happy to make items for people if they cover the cost of the mats or bring the mats themselves, no tips required or anything. Cheap items I can make for free. I can reliably HQ anything that is not a star-recipe in any craft that is at 50 (using NQ mats), and I can do melds from those as well. I figured this might help people looking for new RP gear and suchlike - I play EU times, but if you catch me online and add me to your friends-list I can simply mail you the items, in the event that timezones are a bother. Oh, and I can do dyes as well. IC'ly, my character Sastra is a trader, with connections and the will to travel to retrieve items of interest, so there can be some IC involvement there if required/desired - But pay mind to that she is not a crafter, just a trader. RE: Seeking Crafters/Gatherers Thread. - Pema - 02-18-2014 The skinny on Pema's IC crafting and trading: Right now Pema is a bit more obscure ICly because of recent events, however, she is not wholly unreachable.  There are a couple of ways that meetings with her can be facilitated ICly to meet crafting/melding needs.  As a highly practical and independent character with a wide skills set her crafting is all IC.  ICly her Armorsmithing and Blacksmithing is good and utilitarian but is not sleek, refined, overly styled or fine works.  They are solid and practical.  They are also professions which she is still taking the time to learn and refine her skills in.  You would never see a paladin running around in a superbly crafted set of armor or with a blade of incredible quality made by her.  A hedge knight from a small village though?  He would probably wear her quality of armor.  Other skills are much more highly refined and there is much more room for creativity in the rp and around the items.  Her tailoring, alchemy, culinary, leatherworking and carpentry skills are the strongest ICly and she maintains a small cult following of her work around the city-states.  Goldsmithing is a newly mastered skill and while her work is good she has not distinguished herself from other artisans at this moment in time and maintains little to no following for distinctive work right now.  *Note:  Pema is not a merchant.  She works on commission only as an artisan.  I do carry some mats on me but generally plan to bring your own mats and I don't require any tips for my work but I won't turn them down either.  For materia melding again, I don't charge. Bring your own mats and tip if you like - it is always appreciated. OOCly Crafting/Gathering profession levels are as follows: All are 50 except for: Fishing 18 Carpentry 30 Armorsmith 30 Blacksmith 30 (All of which will be rising quickly) Contact me in game or send me a message on here if you wish to set up anything ICly or OOCly for that matter. I'm in game at varying times throughout the day and I tend to pop in, in the evenings as well. So, just do a search for me if you're looking for me or (as mentioned) send me a message on here and we can figure something out RE: Seeking Crafters/Gatherers Thread. - Knight Kat - 02-19-2014 Updated original post. All interested parties, please read my first post. ^ |
