Possible Interest in FCs - Nyx Ashkala - 08-08-2014

Well, I never thought I'd actually be doing this, but I think my fiance and I have decided to put our FC on hold. We have three active members, are only level 6, and we're having a really hard time finding RP outside of a few people since it seems like a lot of folks only stick to their FCs and circle of friends.

That being said, I want to see what's out there. We're both RPers, but my fiance is wanting to do some raiding since we were both endgamers in WoW. We'll need a bit to decide, but if any of you are interested in two veteran RPers, let me know what your FCs are about below.

We're in the Central timezone (Texas, to be exact), so that may impact us on what we can and can't do.

Hope this is in the right section!

Thanks!

Can't help, but can wish well! I'm long out of the raiding game and am content to be casual with a Novus weapon.

Good luck, godspeed. You strike me as pretty cool and I hope you find what you're looking for.

Hello there! Harbingers of Dawn is a good-aligned, med-heavy RP FC dedicated to protecting and aiding the citizens of Eorzea. We'd be happy to have you! You can learn more about us here and apply on our website if you're interested.

Thanks you two Smile. And Faye, I'll check out the site. I've been coming to your bar events on Nyx and having a lot of fun.

My pleasure and great! Big Grin It was fun watching you RP on Nyx last night (and consume the Essence of Jack, apparently).

If you haven't yet, check through the list of companies on the site, here.

I'll happily plug our FC with the link to our page. Our site has plenty of information too.

We're small and growing, but don't have plans to get too large. Our PvE team is made up of two couples and we're looking for the other four to fill in so that we can get back into endgame without hopping into PuGs.

Good luck in your search!

You should definitely check out the FC listings. I've been keeping them cleaned up using the policy in the Headlines forum, so you can be sure anything you find there is still active.

Since we're plugging FCs... Mysterium has just started doing IC runs of endgame content, focusing on Coil and EX Primals, once a week. This is in addition to our usual ad-hoc endgame light party dungeons. If your characters fit the concept (a society of quirky adventuring spellcasters and their retainers and allies), you might consider giving us a look. We're definitely RP centric, but our last Friday Night Fight Club was a great success, and we'd love to have more people available to participate. Smile

Conversely, if you're an FC interested in doing IC PvE and you need some people to fill out your group on a semi-regular basis, we'd love to chat.

My FC is four players and yes finding others is not that great. So i started an Open LS for smaller RP. We are just getting going but please feel free to join.

I was considering Mysterium myself for my lalafell THM that I made recently once I got her up in level, but it led me to wondering if it was smart to dedicate an alt to an FC before I had even figured out what I wanted for the character that I refer to as my main...

How do you guys handle FCs/LSs and alts? Do you prefer to only join one with your main character and keep your other alts pretty FC-free? Or do you usually put each of your characters towards one group so that you aren't all spread out? I've been contemplating all of this for awhile and haven't really figured out what would be the best route to take, so any opinions would be welcome. >^.^<

RE: Possible Interest in FCs - FreelanceWizard - 08-10-2014

In XIV, at least, I only play one character. I have some alts, but they're mostly just NPCs for plots and such. They're in Mysterium's OOC channel, but otherwise (except for Aurelie) are unaffiliated with the FC because they just exist to serve plot roles. That said, in other games where I played more alts, I typically affiliated them all with the same guild if they'd fit, since I liked playing and RPing with those people. Smile

Policy-wise, a lot of LSs and FCs have rules on inactivity, so an alt that's rarely played might end up getting the boot. Mysterium has such a rule, but it's not really enforced. I imagine some of the larger groups are more aggressive about enforcing any inactivity rules they have.
