Evening, or morning I suppose; whatever time it happens to be when you read this. I'm in Japan and it's almost midnight so... Evening!!
I have been playing 14 for a few months now with my husband over on Gungnir and had a blast. I said had because, well, I've hit a wall because raids are not my thing and with a lull in the main story I was a little lost at what to do. Until I thought of RP. So here I am with an alt on Balmung ready to jump in. Or at least that's what I am telling myself , but I'm super shy and leaving hubs and all my friends on Gungnir has left me feeling a little lonely. Help!!

--MMORPG background
  • lol, no. ARR is my first, and only with some teeth pulling by my husband to get me to play. But since I actually sat down and started playing I've actually enjoyed it. Oh, I should probably note I am playing on the PS3 which is laggy to begin with, and connecting to a NA server, geez.
--RP experience
  • I have casually RP'd with friends on and off for years, but never something serious. I hope to possibly change that.
--Character ideas/info
  • Ha, yes, well. /clears throat Um, all it took was for me to even think about the possibility of RPing and the writer in me dove way ahead. I started the wiki for Phecda but I don't even know if I am doing this right. What's too much backstory, what's too little? Have I tied her down too much or not. Advice would be greatly appreciated. 
--How did you learn about the coalition?
  • Reddit, probably.
--What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy?
  • Medium? Does that mean like middle ground? Or heavy since this is an alt and all I plan to do with her is RP? Or light because I am a new mom and who knows how much time I'll have realistically between my daughter and my main? A little of everything I guess.
--Anything from real life you'€™re comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) 
  • I'm still on maternity leave from work until the end of the month so my days are very open right now. (So night over in the States) I live in Japan and um... I like anime and RPGs in general. I'm a stupidly huge baseball fan. I hate talking about myself, I'm not that good at it. Er, I enjoy writing like I said before. Yeah, that's about it.
[ I've been watching my main do the bomb dance in Limsa for the past hour. Help me get to 15 so I can get this adorable dance on my alt too!! ]

Everybody's wiki page is different, there is no right or wrong answer there. Some people like to pour their entire story there, others like to hold back to prevent people from knowing too much information without earning it. Try to think of it as more of a cheat-sheet for yourself so its easier to keep track of how your character progresses over time.

As for being shy, most of us are or were at first! One of the easiest things you can do is try to interject your own comments to other people's conversations if you happen to be listening in. Overall we're a friendly bunch, and I have yet to see anyone bite someone in-game!

Yeah, there is no correct or recommended formats for wiki's. its best to use what you like.  Big Grin
