But what does it do?!? - Magnus - 10-16-2010

So I've been looking around and of course I can't find the answer to I ask. Being "Well fed" what does it do? Does eating different foods give different bonuses? I'm sure it's a good thing, so I keep eating. I mean who doesn't like eating.

I've searched the Data bases and I've looked at all the recipes (OK maybe not all)and they just don't tell me what it does.

Square-Enix was never much for telling people what foods in FFXI did, either. Laugh We were forced to just gulp down anything and everything, and figure out the status effects on our own.

Of course now that certain foods are better or worse for certain races, things have only become more complicated. A Lalafel's delectable meal giving +100 everything is potentially a -10 Vitality to an Elezen. Of course I'm exaggerating those stats, but it more or less describes the complications in finding out what food does what, since it may have five totally different results for each race.

Your best bet is to just keep browsing around, or if you feel ambitious enough and want to do some studying of your own, eat whatever you get your hands on and keep tabs on all of your stats to see if anything changes.

Sounds like a great study for the Scholars over at AETHER. "To study the benefits of eating" It might be hard to find an Elezen willing to eat a raw Dodo tenderloin, but I'm sure they can do it.

Grilled Carp: +5 to Control (?) for 30 minutes.
