Favorite alcoholic beverages? - Parvacake - 01-01-2015

I've had my share of alcoholic goodies off and on for the last few years. Growing up in a family that let my cousins and I drink at 17 or 18 as long as we were in the house and not going anywhere provided us with an opportunity to figure out what our poisons were before we hit the official 21st birthday bash.

Question is: what's your poison of choice?

I like Jameson's, Sex on the Beach's, Doctor Apples (Apple Pucker with Dr. Pepper. SO GOOD), and my favorite: Irish Carbombs drunk to the tune of 'What's Left of the Flag' where when the verse of 'rosary beads count them one, two three' comes on, on 'three' you drop in the shot and start chugging away.

Might have been better to post on New Years Eve but meh, I was drinking fruit juice like a good girl and watching everyone else get sloshed.Wink

I like my Cider (preferbly on the dry side, though a sweet cider can be nice.), and then there is always my true love, Agwa De Bolivia.... its like heaven in a cup trust me....

Hmm. I have a friend who makes really good strawberry daiquiris, but every other time I have tried them somewhere else, I didn't like them. 

Occasionally after a rough day at work or needing to let off some steam I will get a 6 pack of beer, it's always 211 Steel Reserve. It's cheap, it gets the job done and I'll crush a deep deep dish supreme pizza from little Caesars with my boyfriend while watching anime or whatever shenanigans we get into. After about 4 of that 6 pack (BF doesn't drink), I will usually toss my bra off and fall face first on the bed for about 6 hours.

I don't know much about mixing drinks. We don't even really keep liquor around in the house. When I go out with friends I'll usually get what the person next to me gets if it looks good lol. 

Today is that special day of the year so I have around 12 beers left. Got nice and done last night at midnight. XD lol Woke up this morning feeling great, probably because I also raided the fridge right before I passed out so it soaked up some of the alcohol. Gotta visit grammy in a few hours (get some new years lasanga) but afterwards when I get back home, I shall finish off all the new years beer then I plan to RP a drunk pirate with my boyfriend. Huzzzah!

Some Patron tequila or a few vodka tonics (especially Vokda+soda, I've only tried it with orange soda, tastes good if mixed right and hits like a truck out of nowhere since it doesn't feel like you're drinking alcohol) or straight vodka if I can't find beer. Otherwise beer. It's what I see almost every day.

I don't really like alcohol so I don't drink a whole lot. When I do drink, it's usually a single can of beer (from Thor or Carlsberg. Danish brands.) along with a meal. I've never been drunk before and so far I can still not really see the appeal in it.
What bothers me about a lot of alcohol like wine and such is that is leaves like a burning sensation down my throat, I find that a lot of the "Adult" drinks tend to. I absolutely hate the burning sensation. Of the most fancy I've ever tried is mead from a medieval festival market type thing (It was alright but I'm not a fan) 
Might be slightly odd that I've chosen to RP an alcoholic but.. Oh well! ^^

Living in Central New York has opened my eyes to whole new worlds of cider. As such, my favorite is a local--1911, though I've also gotten a taste for Strongbow if I can't find some 1911 or Johnny Appleseed if I'd like something a little sweeter.

I also absolutely adore Lindeman's Lambic of any flavor, though Framboise is always a personal favorite. I love the smell when you first pour it out, and it's that beautiful mix of sweet and savory that delights my senses.

As far as beers go, I'm all over the place. IPAs, hefeweisens, chocolate stouts, reds, blondes--I'll pretty much drink and enjoy just about anything about 'em all. Though I do draw the line at most light beers (Land Shark or Ichiban is about the lightest I'll go before it tastes flavorless) or some of the super-strong hoppy stuff (Total Bastard Ale was a harsh drink). Samuel Adams and Shock Top are my favorite labels, but I'll more often than not try something based on what it's made of and style than a specific brand.

I'm the type of person who hates the taste/smell of alcohol, so my favorite kind of drinks are the ones where it seems non-existent (but it definitely exists!).

After a stressful day at work, I like to pick up a pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade or Smirnoff Ice (I'm a baby, I know, shut up!) and have one or two while making dinner. A friend of mine makes AMAZING mixed drinks whenever she throws a party. One in particular is called Grasshoppers and it tastes just like the cookie. It's all frothy and light and oh so yummy.

For you and Sastra both, try some Dr. Apples Smile Just get some Green Apple Pucker and Dr. Pepper (or even Cola) and mix it together. You get the sweetness of the drink with no burn and just the warmth of the alcohol. Though its easy to put them away since you can't taste anything wrong with it lol

I'm not a huge fan of alcohol on its own and I'm a bit of a health freak so I only have it during special occasions and as part of a dessert/specialist cup of coffee. So, uh, I guess the latter counts!

I'm mostly a drinker of sweet wines, like Rieslings and late harvest/ice wines, but I'm also a sucker for a good cocktail -- especially a mojito. Smile
