((This thread is for all storys I write for Rhashi and will tell more about his background and thoughts. I know that my english could be a lot better and my writing could always need improvement too so feel free to contact me via pm for constructive criticism or other comments.))
((The following text is at the time before the massive battle of the Allied Eorzean forces and the Empire in Mor Dhona. I am currently writing on Rhashi's view of the battle itself so that will probably follow up in the next few days/weeks))
The last farewell
He didn't sleep at all within the last 24 hours. Everything became so hectic and how should anyone find sleep with the impending doom over their heads? He just came back home after he stashed his backpack at a hopefully save place where it would prevail and afterwards be found again. Within was nearly all of his work. His collection of history and lore of Eorzea, paintings of the land and the beauty of the city states and it's people, writings about the Galean invasion, the Beast Tribes, the Primals and the thread from Dalamud. The only thing from it he was carrying now was a small empty book, it's cover was bristled with crystals that eminated a faint glow. That would be the final chapter of his work. He sighed and put it into a small bag when the door to his room suddenly burst open.
"I WON'T ALLOW YOU TO LEAVE!" She was furious. The kind of rage a mother can fall into when she is protecting her child. "You will join us in the sanctuary with all the others! You mustn't go! You are everything I have left!"
He turned arround slowly with his head hanging. It took him over a minute to finally meet her eyes. His voice was weak and close to a whisper but he was still calm at least. "I.....I have to go. I have to aid our forces, I need to know what happens and record it. And I made a promise to someone....you always taught me to keep my promises."
She trembled and he feared that she would shout at him again but she sank down and was on the verge of tears. "Then promise me to come back!"
He dropped his gaze, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "I...no...I can't. We don't even know if our chances here are any better. We don't know if anyone survives this. But I can promise you to try everything I can that Eorzea can bloom once again after this is over."
She was crying now but she took a step aside to let him pass. "That is not enough for me Rhashi!" Her voice was staggering and it was hard to understand her.
He wanted to comfort her and made a quick step forward but came to a sudden stop. His lips were trembling now. He just couldn't bear it any longer. "Farewell mom!" He blubbered out and ran without looking back. He didn't want to do it that way but he couldn't stop himself. He didn't suppress his tears any longer and could hardly see but his feet knew the path perfectly and before long he was standing in front of Gridanias Gates. He leaned heavily on a nearby tree to catch his breath and calm himself down again.
A few minutes later he was on his way to Mor Dhona where the allied forces would make their last stand.
