If you ever have an opinion you're basically the worst person. This is the internet we must be calm and rational at all times and that means never making value judgement statements or ever becoming frustrated or ever even posting a thing that challenges something the majority says. It's a more dignified time.

I'm viewing numerous locked threads on it, with one of the biggest reasons being comparing real-world situations to FFXIV, and how it spirals out of control from there to erupting emotions.

In fact, most of these threads locked by a moderator post, specifically ask people to stop doing this due to how volatile it turns the conversation. You may have been suspended for not obliging this.

I'm still reading them all, though.

So if I understand right because gay marriage and discrimination are real world issues, you just can't talk about how you don't like FFXIV not having gay options for marriage?

No and yes.. you can talk about it all you want there until they ban you. THEN you are right, you literally can't talk about it on their forums.
