Alrighty! I'm at work too lol. I'll be on for a very short time around 6:00 EST, but then I'll be out again until around 10 PM EST. At least that's how my night is looking at the moment >.>

The Grindstone Fights, outside of Ul'dah. Have been known to have betting, amongst the audience. We could use a little more of it, to add to the flavor. If you're unaware. It is held In Central Thanalan, near the gates. Around the encampment where the fate "Cowardly Challenger" appears. Saturday Evenings at 9/10 EST. Cap'n Von, would obvious be interested in better; when he isn't cracking skulls himself. Thumbsup

Sounds good! Rae particpated in her first one last weekend xD but she usually observes. I don't know if I'll be making it this weekend, but next weekend I might see about having a more organized betting for it if enough people would be interested ^-^

Do bookies generally dislike it (threats may or may not come into play) when people make bets that aren't done through them?

Good question. I think if they were regulars and then suddenly switched to someone else they might not be too happy. I suppose it would depend on if it was like an independant or if there was 'mob' like connections involved :o

It was just something I was thinking about to cause early drama if wanted XD

Like a new better getting in between rival bookies or making bets in an area that one bookie tends to use most often but uses an unknown person, etc.

Or maybe someone makes a very very fortunate bet against the favorite and wins lots of gil that the bookies are -very- unhappy with.

Don't be sorry for thinking XD. It's certainly a good idea for some drama! And there's certainly room for more bookies. Independants and more 'connected' ones alike.
