I noticed at an event that some people shared my surname.

Having been in since Beta and not noticing any others before, I have come to the conclusion that the game is caching names for use in the random name generator.Â

However, the point to this, Given there are indeed roleplayers that have picked my delightful surname, I would very much like to find a way to meet them in game XD. see the differences in branches of the family as it were.

so yeah, if you are a Chalahko Miqo'te, get in touch Big Grin

The First Astral Era was over 5,000 years ago. If some names are -that- old then two Keepers with the same surname wouldn't have to necessarily be closely related by blood. The shared Surname can simply point to a common ancestry that could date as far back as the First Astral Era. In other words, you could meet another Chalahko and they could likely be as unrelated to you as any other Keeper Miqo'te.

That said, if you wish to meet with other player characters who have the same surname, and set up a back-story with them that makes them family, have fun Smile

Oh i know the lore, sorry, I put this post up because I ran into some people at an event, and just wanted to see what they did with the history Smile

The game isn't "caching" names as far as I know. The name generator does use many NPC names and surnames, however. Here's an example of a Chalahko NPC from the original 1.0 release:

The above is correct. I've seen several other Liautroix since I made my main. There's even an npc with the name in Coerthas. If you used the name generator then you're bound to meet people with the same name once in a while.Â
