Hey guys!

The static I was leading in XIV shut itself down, so it pretty much gave me the importunity to shift my main priority when it comes to this game to RP. While I was discussing RP with people a while back, the Dauntless was brought up as a place I think I would like.

I looked over your website as well as snippets here and there, and I'm pretty impressed. While I can't necessarily commit myself to joining a new FC (Because of my obligations to my current one right now), I would love to set things up IC to join your LS and get my foot in the door, and work on the IC stuff for it happening.

So if you guys are still recruiting for it, I'm expressing my interest.

We're still here!

There's quite a few people who've expressed interest over the past month that we've simply not had enough time to sit down with yet. That's owed largely to the aforementioned moves (some of which are done, some of which are yet to come, etc.) and other IRL circumstances that have kept us low on time to seriously invest in folks. We don't want to do a half-assed job with anyone's RP; if and when we take people onboard, we'd rather do so with our full attention and best effort. We had a few hiccups the past couple of months due to HW release and such; not something we want to repeat.

We'll be getting to everyone ASAP. Currently pending an officer discussion re: state of the FC/LS and where to go from where we're at.

Been a while since we posted, so here we go!

First and foremost: the Dauntless have. due to in-character circumstances, transitioned away from being a Grand Company unit of irregulars towards being their own free company.

While this might translate into less of a presence in Ul'dah and out 'n' about Thanalan, what it also translates into is more opportunity for all-inclusive roleplay. Membership is no longer limited to Immortal Flames and civilians; members of the Maelstrom and the Twin Adders are now welcome. Less time in Thanalan also means more time elsewhere - La Noscea, the Shroud, Coerthas, etc. The shift away from an organization of career soldiers also means we're far more open to other lines of work than we were: mercenary contracts, alchemical works, fieldcraft and tradecraft, and so on. Finally, since we are no longer beholden to the orders of a military organization, our entire membership is now free to travel and associate as they please (with some minor caveats owing to in-character histories and consequences).

Second: while we are still accepting applications, the FC membership is currently frozen, meaning that we will not be adding to our ranks for the foreseeable future.

Our plans are to consolidate and develop what members, allies, acquaintances, and contacts we already have before resuming growth. Furthermore, we prefer to be a smaller, more personal company than most. We find that this strengthens ties and keeps roleplay plots and story arcs far more accessible and inclusive than if we were otherwise. That said, our LS membership is not frozen and we will be adding individuals to our growing collection of contacts. Which leads me to...

Third: we are open to and welcome new contacts!

Perhaps your character or company has need of our services. Perhaps you run into us in a social setting, such as a tavern somewhere, and we get to chit-chatting for the night. Unless we are otherwise occupied in one of our private FC events, we'd be more than happy to roleplay with you, so keep an eye out for us!

Had a bit of a slow-down due to more RL shenanigans! Half our officer base moved recently. Going to be ramping back up to FC RP events starting this week!

Not much else to report... other than we now have Diadem (Hard) access. Thumbsup

Recruitment is currently closed. We are still accepting applications are still happy to discuss interest in roleplaying with the Dauntless and/or joining our IC linkshell, but for now the Free Company itself is not taking on new members.

We've got two narrative arcs firing up. Two storylines, two arcs, two plots, however you like to phrase such things. We're also looking into social events at least twice a month, which we might open up to non-members in the near future depending on relative success and whether we have steady-enough attendance.
