Hey everybody Smile

I'll just keep this short in order to avoid boring all you lovely people ^^
My name's Vael, a fan of final fantasy since the SNES days, and one of those people who got excited about FFXIV back when it hadn't launched yet. Sadly, I got a bit disappointed and am ashamed to say I didn't stick with the game to wait for better days..

With A Realm Reborn around the corner, though, I just might want to give FFXIV another chance. For me, roleplay is a pretty important aspect of my gaming experience, so I joined up to kind of scout out what's going to happen in the roleplay community now that 2.0 is drawing closer.

For all you knowledable people; are there still any active EU linkshells/guilds? If and when I do give FFXIV another shot, I'd really like to join up with other European folks, as the timezone differences are quite troublesome Sad

I'm really hoping there's still bunch of Europeans around and hopefully a guild or two as well.. and if not, I'm always interested in brainstorming some ideas ^^ I always play with my other half aswell, so consider that two people who're interested Smile

Anyway, I'll be keeping my eye on this website and the community, so I'll probably see you around :cheer: I'll be especially glad to hear from roleplayers who play during EU prime time, as those can hard to find in some games :joker:

As for the EU shells, I don't think so. Personally I'd wait until a few weeks after ARR launch to find a more established EU shell. There are a few NA shells still kicking around here, but everything might change come 2.0~

I really only know of one other RPer who was EU, but she's all busy with Uni and all that, at the very least until ARR. Though, I'm sure with the number of people old and new who are coming back, there'll be plenty of EU players, likely enough to form an RP shell.

Heya! So you know there's a good few of us EU types on still. But yeah, most of us are waiting for ARR and are in (or out of game) RPing stuff to lead up to the formation of shells when 2.0 launches. I'm ingame... Most of the time, because I currently have no social life 8D so feel free to friend me (Sienna Skye) and we cna hang out or something.

I do suspect there will be enough Europeans to form a nice guild with :3 I guess for now we'll just have to wait and see who will come (back) to the game after ARR hits ^^

I'm not currently playing FFXIV yet, but I wouldn't mind exchanging skypes or some such to keep in touch and chat sometimes Big Grin

Glad to have you. I think most people have already covered it, but there was a small but healthy EU community at launch and a handful that are still currently playing. I'm certain come ARR that community will be even larger and more active, and you shouldn't have much issue finding RP in-game. Even with a majority of the community being NA, there's usually people on at all hours even to this day.

Actually, I did :3 However, I never used the name Vael all that much, so it might just be coincidence Wink

I spent most of my time in a guild named Journey, but thats been a few years now, and last time I played I was more or less guildless. I take it you played on AB, as well? Big Grin

EQ2 is still one of the greatest games ever, and I'd totally play if there was a roleplay community on Splitpaw (EU server) Smile

Sadly the only RP guild on that server has gone inactive.. as far as I know, anyway.

Nice! I was in Cladire Vortae (or something) for RP, then Raven Guard. After those I tried to raid with Ancient Prophecy, then finally Bloodthorn. Bloodthorn by then was growing pretty low on activity, including Wind Runners (the good-guy side) and I think people started leaving for Sigil.

Me and some lower officers of Bloodthorn formed Intrigued and we tried to run some business but ultimately, my toon ended up getting kicked out (on good terms oocly!) and short after the same lower officers went inactive.

Journey...let's see....IIRC, there was a girl in there named Etude? Might have been a different guild >.<.

It's a shame to hear that about Splitpaw, but as far as I noticed AB is getting to be just as inactive RP-wise. The F2P system, and several other issues, in my opinion, killed the game and really the decline in the RPC has certainly been a long time coming. The game was absolutely fantastic, and still probably is. There is no company that can compete with the lore of Norrath, and even SOE can't kill that. It's just a shame it seems like there isn't enough RP citizens in any game!

I'm also EU RPer and planning to return to the game soonish maybe!

I quit the game earlier mostly because all RP events were after midnight in my timezone and I felt alone. Been back now and then but been off again for moooonths. But as said, I really wanna come back again, so maybe we will see online some day!
