Are the hair colours available to each race all considered natural? Or if you pick a colour that is more un-natural or out there (like a strong pink or something) is it assumed to be dyed?

For example, I'm considering making a Dusk Elven with blue hair but, it doesn't fit my character that he would dye it. If that makes sense?

I wouldn't overly concern myself with it. Nobody should be getting on your case for having pink, blue, etc. hair color. It's a fantasy game. As long as you don't have some really unnecessarily trite IC reasoning for why their hair is that color, you should be fine.

General rule is, the colors given are natural, and the only time hair is considered to be dyed is when you ICly mention or it is pointed out that your character has changed their hair from what they had originally.

As far as suggestions about hair? Play with it a little over time, start with what you like, and as time goes on, have it get longer or get cut, maybe an up style for easy times and down style for elegance, or however you see it. Just don't be afraid to keep the same color and change the style from time to time to show evolution and the change a passage of time brings.

I did that with my old RP character, Marten. Started with Thancred's hair, and then after becoming a dark knight (ICly), he grew it out.

Now he has Thancred's second hairstyle, even though I haven't RPed with him since coming back.

And here's where I'd put my variety selection of curly hairstyles... if I had one!

...for real, I am limited to like... 3 hairstyles on this dude, all around the same length, 2 of which could only be achieved if he was aggressively gelling it down throughout the day. There aren't any others that come even close to the Type 3 curly texture he's supposed to have... unless you count the four available to Roegadyn F but nobody else for some reason?

So for all the times it would have made sense for him to cut his hair super short or grow it out... I've just had to... quietly... have him not do that because of the lack of available hairstyles to represent it.

Be thankful for your variety of hairstyles, straight-haired characters! Yes, even those of you whose characters are supposed to have long hair! You have more than one your character can casually wear! Be thankful!

But for real, I think most people take their cues for whether a character's hair is dyed or not from the character/player themself. My character's hair looks unnatural/dyed, but it's actually a representation for a hair colour that also isn't available in the creator (dark auburn) that is most assuredly natural. No one's ever questioned it, in or out of character.

Seriously. Feel your pain. Why did I choose curls. WHY.

@OP, like the rest say, take cues from the RPer. If they say their bright pink hair is natural? I roll with it. Nothing strange!
