So I recently got the game, as of a few weeks ago. In terms of Final Fantasy games, this has been the first one that I've managed to play for more than a few hours without getting frustrated or annoyed. Maaaybe that has something to do with the fact the only FF game I've ever played was FFXII and the kid drove me insane... WELL anyways;
I have barely any idea, if any, of the general lore of any FF game. I'm not sure how big of a deal that is in the community.. but yeah I wouldn't mind learning the ropes. The advantage is I come from a long RP background so it's more of a "what am I working with?.." question lol.Â
That being said, I have no idea how I'd get the ball rolling generally since I have no idea where people hang out or things like that or what the community is like on the server since I usually play on a server closer to me. Which brings me to the 'Weird Timezone' point.
I'm actually playing from Japan (luckily you choose the language the game is in haha.) So, basically I'm 14-16 hours ahead of the standard timezone. On top of that I have a pretty busy work schedule, so my windows of playtime usually operate during the late or wee hours of the night/morning. So basically, is there some volume of RPers that hang around at that time, or even someone who is looking for someone to just hang out with and maybe RP around that time?Â
I haven't decided on a character yet or anything, but was seriously considering the idea since the japanese server I currently play on is pretty Japanese-y even though it's an 'english' server so any hope of RP is gone there,Â
TLDR version: Is anyone up at weird hours that correspond to 5-10PM GST+9:00 on weekdays that is looking for an rp minion/apprentice/friend/someone? Weekends are more flexible in general for me. x.x

-MMORPG background: Runescape, Guild wars, World of Warcraft, The Secret World, some others, MUDs.
--RP experience: MUDs, tabletops, DM/Storyteller for games in D&D and whitewolf series. RP in WoW, secret world.. etc
--Character ideas/info: I dunno much about the lore so I'll probably cut/paste whatever the lore is about the hyur or whatever the human midlanders are haha.
--How did you learn about the coalition?: Google. Google knows all.
--What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy?: I probably lean towards heavy in style but do some things that are considered light/medium.
--Anything from real life you'€™re comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc): I work in Japan, I teach in Japan, I can speak conversational Japanese, I have a math related major, I play videogames. That last one was kind of obvious though..
