For anyone interested, I've posted a similar plot review on my FC site to Merri's fantastic COMPREHENSIVE LOOK AT THE SEVENTH UMBRAL ERA STORY ARC [1.0]Â thread in this forum.Â There's a lot of overlap with Merri's thread, but perhaps the perspectives of two authors will give greater clarity to any wanting a firmer grounding in the lore. I've also included a embedded links to FFXIV wiki and other resources for anyone wishing further reading.

Great post..I think you gave new players a nice condensed view of the lore from the previous version of FFXIV. One suggestion, though, I think you should use the word "calamity" rather than "cataclysm" since a lot of the NPCs refer to it as such. But, its just a choice of words really and doesnt matter. I have a question for you! When exactly does the Battle of Castrum Novum fit into the timeline here? Are all the events surrounding the descent of Dalamud occuring in the same year? Thanks!Â Big Grin

Thanks for the heads up! Synonyms always get me, especially when they start with the same letter, lol. I've made changes accordingly, and edited some of the rougher spots. Thanks a lot!
