For yourselves, so you can always read up on your characters and avoid getting lost/confusing one with another (sort of a database)? For others, so they can do so? For others but actually for yourself, so you can show off, "look at me, I am such a big role playa"? Little bit of any of the above, or for something else? I am wondering whether people are doing their character's wiki pages to put their cyber stories on paper, line them up and arrange so they, the players, can easily check them up and find what they need, or is it just plain haughtiness.
I personally post it as a chronicle of prior events and a small primer should people seek her out for like-minded interactions. To that point, I do try to keep things reasonably vague with regards to current events, as I also believe that most stories should be further told in-game. Still, Steel's past and how it's shaped her today, I feel, is important to list.
Also, I just like to write about my character and enjoy fleshing her out, even if she never really gets to interact with other people's stories....so if I find myself further unenfolded I at least have an outlet for RP in my own head-canon.
If people enjoy what they read, then all the better. I hope people like what they see...hence why I should do a style re-visit to make the thing more eye-pleasing and perhaps a bit less clinical feeling.
Also, I am a total sheep and have just edited in a "Player Rumors" section, and will likely be watching that spot like a sort of owl-eyed creeper. So, to that point, some self-vilification is certainly at play. XD
