That whole sequence was very potent. Gawd, I feel mindfucked by the lot of it. Everything you were comfortable with! SE aren't afraid to go as far as they want.

Potentially with new character designs and a new outlook from their experience that makes them less bland. I'm really satisfied with how he turned out!Riol, from what I understand, isn't dead but I wouldn't be surprised if they sacrifice him stupidly down the line. He too good for this world. Also, for those of you who are looking for more light-hearted stuff, I urge you to do postmoogle. First, you have Wymond's backstory as an informant and... well, a ginormous explosion. Second, to wash the bad taste of betrayal out of your mouth, a short tale of the Company of Heroes, and then, MORE MOOGLES and the Postmoogle cap! |

Why is everyone jumping to the conclusion that Urianger is evil?

I'm not sure, accepting an invitation to parlay is not that same as being a traitor, but people are jumping to all sorts of conclusions about Urianger for some reason.

Not to say it's impossible or anything but I certainly didn't get such an impression from that meeting(though even if I had, I could well believe the potential for it to be a total ploy after yesterday's events).

I only said traitor because I was relaying one of the first posts on reddit. That was before I even got home from work, etc.
Did anyone else catch the person mentioned by Y'shtola at the end? It's her sister or lover ( ;p but I'm pretty sure it's sister.) She's from the summoner quests! |

I figured that out when Mr. Evil Lala got brutally murdered. Like, brutally-eye-moving-kind-of-weird-because-he's-dead-as-hell murdered. I mean like the-shoes-came-off completely and utterly ultra dead. And then Raubahn got his FRIGGIN' ARM CUT OFF! My face just went completely And I was like "Welp, this game is now rated M." And that was before the castration insult... |

Finished last night, sitting with my jaw hanging agape and my mind just absolutely reeling. Tropes notwithstanding, I still found this story sequences some of the best of the MSQ.
Now, my own thoughts... ...which will be led off by saying how MUCH I WANTED TO SLAP the leaders of each of the nations of the Alliance. A small group of random blades offered to help Ishgard, but full and absolute credit taken at the banquet. Even my beloved Admiral...all of you can line up and eat my ass. Srsly. Watching Nanamo die (sorry I have a very hard time believing she's not dead) was probably one of the hardest things I've had to witness. Seeing a Lalafell woman in tears instantly incurs in me a need to murder the cause of those tears....mercifully, Raubhan's response was completely appropriate. Most satisfying villain death in this game, bar none. No, srsly Rauby, you scary. I don't see the Scions as being killed. I've watched more than enough anime or cartoons to know that when your mains get a fade to white, they almost are always able to miraculously avoid the powderkeg they set off around themselves. I mean, it'd be amazing if they stayed dead, but someone as patently useless as Minfilia just doesn't die that easily, even if those that went before her went out like absolute bosses. Pipin is sexiest Laladude now. Sorry, Chachan. :< I'm almost positive that Urianger is meeting with the Ascians as a form of parley or as their guest than anything else. Nothing in the conversation between the two--however short--seemed to indicate anything more than the cordial greetings of two negotiating sides. I'm most excited about what will happen next. Ishgard is an awesome place to hide away while Ul'dah loses its shit, and the apparent lack of immediate Ascian machination in everything going on was refreshing, though I'm sure at some point or another we'll have some deux ex machine nonsense that paints them as being behind ALL THE THINGS MWAHAHAHA. Seriously, I hate the Ascians, and not for the reasons Squee would like. Ultimately, though, I was completely wrapped up in the whole thing, tropes, silliness and all. I enjoyed the hell out of it, I can't wait to see more, and I can NOT WAIT to get into Ishgard proper. I want more. I NEED MOAR. And I've got two months' wait to get it. Hnngggh.... |

I don't understand the Alphinaud hate. I'm naturally glad he lived, as he's one of my favourite NPCs. I found his emotional reaction and development both great and necessary, and they only made me like him more. He's a character whose views have been changing as the story went on, so I'm looking forward to see how he keeps developing in Heavensward!
I'd also like to mention the eternal forgotten NPC, Wilred. I've always liked and paid attention to him. When he reappeared in the story to join the Crystal Braves, I was excited, even if a small voice inside of me warned me of the possible risk. I was shocked to suddenly find him dead, especially because he was the first death of 2.55 and I didn't expect that. However, after seeing the betrayal of the whole Crystal Braves group (which was a pretty hardcore scene for me), I must say I'm glad he died. At least I know he was clean until the very end, so he didn't have to step over my poor fan heart ;_; As for Crystal Braves... Ugh... I'd been wondering who the traitors were, but I didn't expect almost the whole group to be stained. The whole video was full of shocking moments for me. Things exploded and broke pretty fast.
