Twas to be expected.

I sometimes feel a lot of people platonically hate each other lol.

Don't feel to bad, im sure no one intentionally tried and or meant to attack you or your idea.

That puts the burden of finding a new solution to the problem on the players, whether that be building another solution or digging up an alternative orb somewhere. If you don't want the plot to be your characters fixing the problem for the people caught up in it, you will need to take the means of fixing it away from them.

If this is just going to be "my character causes and then fixes a problem for some strangers" then I retract the suggestion, but at that point why do you need the other players except as an audience?

If you want to avoid all the trouble with role-players concerned about their character's bodies being groped or misused, I think that could be a decent alternative for some light-hearted RP centered around waking up in another body. The basic idea is still there, minus the creepy factor.

Personally, I think this is also the best way to go as a safe measure. Regardless, I think we will have some creepy factor in terms of gender change related anyways. But the thing is, as Solis said - the vial of fantasia is required for real money to buy the bottle. At least two to return back to yourself. OR you can pretend to be a female without using the bottle should your budget cannot do much.

As an aside, it's really getting tiresome to jump into a thread and see people arguing over whether or not somebody should even comment in the first place. The tone policing is also pretty stale as well.

As for the event itself? I tend to favour such things being limited to OOC 'what if' situations rather than anything super serious on an IC level. More often than not, however, this sort of thing just ends up revolving around people not so subtly making a big deal out of having the opposite gender's...uh...'bits' and basing most of their interaction around that.

Hence the wariness, I'd imagine.

It honestly can just be private RP between people who sign up to do it. Some people do their own RP in terms of plot and events - and even within the FC to avoid conflicts with all other roleplayers outside the event.

If you think that kind of attitude is being excellent, then you obviously are just being a sadistic troll and is not really doing any favor for the OP to improve his ideas of events.

The potential issues have been listed. Other people have recognized them as valid issues, and even the OP has acknowledged that these issues can be a problem and, to his credit, is placing guidelines in his plot to help mitigate them.

Are you sure you're defending him the way you think you are?

I think at this point, the way I am reading it is that you are just trying to prove something here as in to aggravate me more. But I'll just stop bickering with you since it's going nowhere.

I was actually thinking it was one of the more civilized threads I've seen that went wrong.

People are discussing and arguing points of view. Not needless name calling and tearing each other down.

You pitched a concept and the community responded. If I was in your place, I'd get everything in order, rules, guidelines, event coordinators and try again.

I think if you'd of done that before hand, it may of went smoother.

If he was to put up a rule, I think he'd have done it in an event forum section than RP Discussion section. He just wanted to hear people's opinions to see if they'd be interested or not or even what can be done to be successful for this event to happen at least.

True, but there seems to be a lot of hate when the community didn't respond favorably.

If it's something that affects their character undesirably, they'll usually think about their character's impact over others, unfortunately. :/

At this point Solis, if you are planning to make it forum RP like you said, still apply rules before you make a thread and some people might jump on it. Since it seems like it'll be [Open] based RP anyways.

Soon I will update the OP with rules, and then do an opening post then allowing others to post.

Welp if I can find some way to throw Kurt in on this I would. Just so he can go "Oh hey, I can hear things from 300 yalms away. I must be a miqo'te again....well shit. Aaaand my junk is gone...again? No. Nice." Gender swap need not be required. Miqo'te swap need not be required.

Or just so he can also go "The faces, everyone's shins are now their faces, I refuse to look up."

Or maybe "Wow I feel much more...racist."

Or even "Oh look that...I'm built like a damned tower now."

Now picture Ramen and Arin switching bodies....they'd still be at each others throats...or given to Ramen's juvinle tendenicies she'd pose as Arin and get rid of the table cloth from his pants or even...

..draw a fake...beard.

Ok but you got to factor in the fact that it costs RL money for a Fantasia, and some of us might not have enough money to get one or two.

Maybe I misread or was just presumptuous; I thought this was gonna be a forum role-play since body-switching would be kind of odd to do in-game since it can't really be portrayed without Fantasias, either. Either way, if it was just going to be an imagined change anyway, Fantasias wouldn't actually be necessary regardless.

It IS forum RP. This would not be done in-game; it would be done in the Town Square and it would be like an open thread.

Then... why would people have to pay money for Fantasia potions in game...?
