I'm writing up a character entry for the wiki but it's actually the technical aspect not the writing that's proving to be the problem. I found a wiki page layout that I likeÂ

He said that the template was byÂ http://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/Deirdre_Ta%27ea who said it was byÂ http://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/Bancroft_Gairn

And neither of those two are using the same layout! Who would I ask to get permission to copy that layout?

The layout was actually one of mine, which was formerly based on the Deidre Taea character template. (Her wiki no longer uses the basic template she had made). I've also since moved from that particular template but feel free to use it and to ask any questions about it.

Wiki code isn't too bad, but I made a pretty nightmarish nested wikitable with wikitables for the relationships section that can be a bit daunting. (It's not bad once you get the hang of it!)

Thank you, the reason I wanted to use that was because I wanted to open with a short dialogue quote and then follow up with a short (few hundred words) character story before moving on to the nitty gritty and none of the other layouts that I found really felt like they left room for that.Â

...I do have one question actually, see at the top where there's the little tabs for Character, Combat etc. could I change what the tabs say just by copying the text from the edit page and changing it or would I have to do something else? If I wanted to add one could I just copy in what's on one of the previous heading like where it says on that profile.

Could I just change and insert things?

- Just as an example mind there's not going to be anything in there about coats.

The tabs are actually just =Headers= . So you can add/remove them as you see fit. Just make sure you close any HTML tags or weird things can happen. Wikicode is really just a bunch of shortcuts, so it renders strangely if things go wrong.

I'll keep an eye on the thread, so feel free to post any questions you may have and we'll get you sorted out.
