I'm 24 and I don't exactly know when I started the RP thing. What I can say is that I've always loved and been pretty good at acting and stuff like that ever since I was really little.

39 years young here. I still eat cereal, still watch cartoons, still play video games and still ride shopping carts like skateboards in parking lots to the amusement of children and disdain of adults.
I did take a creative writing class as an elective in college, but honestly that's the extent of any formal writing "training". The rest has developed over the years, starting with the detailed descriptions of areas and such while Dungeon Mastering. As for how I started, it was all with the legendary "Red Box" D&D Basic set from way, way, way back. I remember asking my father for it. He told me he'd get it if I got a hit in Little League (knowing him, he would have gotten it anyway). I got not one, but two hits that night. They would be my only two hits of the season. I almost exclusively Dungeon/Game Master. I love writing stories, something I think carries over to my journals and stories here. I've run D&D and Torg campaigns, and would love to run Pathfinder and Gamma World. I got the books, just need the time and players. So...long winded. TL: DNR? I'm old, and have been DMing since I was a kid. |

I am 23 and i started with my very first browsergame, which was some kind of fantasygame with Forum RP, at age 13/14.
What i find so great, over the internet age doesnt really matter, their appereance doesnt matter! You get to interact only with the "personality", how that person reacts etc. I can play with "old" people of age 40+ and have as much fun as playing with people my age or Teens. ^^ There can be smart and decent Teens, who are more mature than some age 35 idiot pricks... "Sometimes it is those, whom no one is willing to give a hand, that need it the most. If not us, who will? And if not now, then when?" |

Hmmm, time to put age into perspective. I'm 48 and just about to become a grandfather for the first time. I really don't care about growing up - should have done it years ago but it's much too late now. Even my wife has accepted that is never going to happen. Besides, in this day and age it's a positive asset to have a young outlook. After nearly 20 years in IT I've recently had to change career completely - keeping a young outlook helps with that too^^
In terms of creative writing I've had no formal training but have done some forum RP in the past and have just finished writing my first fantasy novel. Fingers crossed I can now find a publisher. |

Turnin' 26 this sunday. I've been roleplaying on various formats since I was about 11 or so. Mainly computer related stuff ala yahoo groups, mIRC, MSN, and occassionally neopets when it came about. Expanded into more forum related rp's and honed my skills through those, this is the first time I've done in-game rp so its been a bit challenging but also refreshing for me and I can't wait to flesh out K'tahrl more as the game progresses.

I'm twenty-two years old and I'll be turning twenty-three next month. I have been role-playing as long as I can remember but if I put an age on it probably since I was ten years old? My only friend and I would make our characters and scenarios and act them out. We even worked out how leveling up would work ans set our skills limits and power based on what our levels were. We both also wrote a lot about fantasy, science fiction, and action adventure. We would compare our stories and give each other ideas.
I never did much beyond that I would participate in text RPGs on forums and in some MMOs. I have played tabletop RPGs but not much or that many. I did take creative writing but the teacher was a joke. |

By Jove the average age here is close to the estimated age of.. I dunno, pottery from Ancient Greece.
I jest of course.. Though I do find myself below the (current) average, at 23. There is perhaps no phenomenon which contains so much destructive feeling as moral indignation, which permits envy or to be acted out under the guise of virtue. - Erich Fromm |

Hahahaha! Once again I get to be one of the youngest in a community!
I'm 18, turning 19 this September. I'm still living with my mom and stepdad, can't drive, and planning to attend community college this coming quarter. I don't have a paying job, however I volunteer at our local humane society every weekend! I socialize with cats and clean their cages all day. :D |

You know another thing occurs to me after reading this thread. With any luck the community in this game will be a real representation of what a society is really like; diverse ages, different backgrounds and cultures, different ways of looking at things - all wrapped up in a desire to have fun in what promises to be a great game.
