Icon: Twin swords crossing to form an X on a backdrop of an Ivory tower.. 5 other blades surrounding, pointing outwards like rays from the sun in the BoN icon.

This opens up a RP element that you could have 7 overseers (or swords) for the grand company leaders, two representatives from each company, and one grand overseer to consolidate power. If you so wish..

edit: reading through the descriptions the LS sound really interesting, wondering if I could join in perhaps..? My toon is a Duskwight archer so might fit with the Blades...

When I saw this thread, I instantly thought of the Fates from Greek mythology.Â

There'sÂ Clotho, the spinner, who spins the thread of life... Lachesis, the measurer, who chooses the lot in life one will have and measures off how long it is to be... And finally Atropos, she who cannot be turned, who cuts the thread of life with her shears. I think the Fates are like XI:7, the Mysterium, and the Blades respectively. I can't come up with an actual name based on this allusion, but perhaps it will be nice creative fuel to add to the flames for someone else!

I really like the symbolism behind Magic Sword, but the name itself is too corny for my tastes. Eorzean/Hydaelyn Hearts is also rather waist-deep in cheese sauce territory... Sorry, but that's just my two cents. :S

Thats actually a pretty cool concept...now if only we had a name born of that...

The only name I could come up with is wayÂ too long. The Consortium of Merchants, Mercenaries, and Mages. CoMÂ³

It's even longer when it's typed out then when it was in my head...

I think it looks well, even if long. It seems people shorten a lot of things regardless of length.Â Thumbsup

The Eorzean Free Company Alliance - T.E.F.C.A.

Underground Research And Defense - U.R.A.D.

The Eorzean Discovery and Protection Ops - T.E.D.A.P.O

And just for the sake of it one more:

Modern Research, Serve and Defend Operations- M.R. Â S.A.D Operations

The last one I think is kinda cool, I mean nobody would have any idea what your talking about if you referred to your alliance as "Mr sad" in conversation so you could keep it secret if you didnt particulerly want it to become common knowledge, they may assume your talking about a charity or something! Though I still like my earlier idea of D.A.R.C. better
