Whilst I didn't manage to finish one.. it made me realize how I should -really- think of a backstory to my character.

Many, many questions were answered, eventually realizing how boring and bland she was. Thank ye!

(It's mostly me, though! If I try to RP, my mind converts to that of a 4 year old, unable to form sentences with words that have more than 2 syllables. Ah well, we'll get the swing of it sometime Big Grin)

Took me some time to complete it! Mention it if I forgot to answer one or two questions.

Myrrhine's 100
Show Content
Myrrhine's 100
Part 1: The Basics

1.What is your full name?
"Myrrhine Midna. Wait a minute, where is this and who the hell are you?"

2.Where and when were you born?
"No idea, all I know is that when I woke up, some kind of monk told me that I had
been asleep for years... Why did I even answer?!"

3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

"Don't know. Again I answered... What did you do to me?"

4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?

"Don't know either. You son of a- you made me drink some kind of truth potion?"

5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.

"I usually stay at the adventurers' guild's inn, quite the cozy place if you ask me... I swear I'm gonna put a fireball in your face if you don't release me right now."

6.What is your occupation?

"Mercenary, adventurer, however people will call me. I take up requests, kill things and earn money. Why I can't use my magic to blast your face off"

7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.

"...You're really getting on my nerves."
((This is a work in progress as my english sucks and since it's getting late and I don't know everything of clothes in this game I'm going to make this brief: upper body: Black robe/dress whatever, white gloves, sharp glasses with white borders, white hat, very white skin, black makeup thing taking half of the face right part, white tatoo under left eye, skin is normal white I guess, pink eyes, red hair and I have no idea on how to describe it, first hairstyle I think for fem lalafells. Lowerbody white cotton thighs, black shoes, rings yadayada stuffofftosleep.))

8.To which social class do you belong?
"Middle. Can we stop now?"

9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
"I'm extremely weak physically, everything takes a lot of effort to do, getting hit by anything feels like dying and... And I just blurted out my greatest weakness to somebody I barely know. Great."

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
"Right-handed. How many useless questions are left?"

11. What does your voice sound like?
"......................"

((I'd say Kokonoe's english voice from Blazblue.))

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
"For the love of- Do you ever shut up?"

13. What do you have in your pockets?
"A pouch with my money, a few accessories like rings... I can't carry anything too heavy. If you try to mug me I'll make sure your hands transform into ashes."

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
"Oh yes, I have this very nasty habit of setting bothersome people on fire, half of the time I end up burning their clothes, sometimes worse depending on how annoying they prove to be. You're lucky I can't use my magic, otherwise you'd wish you were facing Ifrit."

Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
"I've never had a "proper" childhood, so to speak. Why are you still talking to me?"

16. What is your earliest memory?
"Opening my eyes and desperately trying to breath, like I had been drowning all this time."

17. How much schooling have you had?
"Do you consider staying at the library all day and reading every possible book schooling? If yes then that's what I was doing for many years. Of course, that's until the calamity happened."

18. Did you enjoy school?
"I did, I still enjoy learning anything I can through books."

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
"Black books I wasn't allowed to read, that monk said that it would corrupt me because of my physical condition. I'm so glad I read them all, training in secret was the tougher part but I managed."

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
"No... Well maybe. You know those fictional characters in books? There's that one character that's a really powerful mage, but he's a villain. What was his name... Golbez? Something like that. He looked so strong with that armor and his powers... I never finished reading that book though, whether he dies killed by the heroes like every villain or emerges victorious will remain a mystery to me."
"..."
"...That was really embarassing, I hope I'll be able to turn you to dust once we're done."

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
"I don't have a family, I've told you a hundred times, this question is stupid. You're stupid."

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
"Something powerful. Anything would have been fine, I just wanted to become stronger, no matter the price."

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
"Reading, not like I had a choice."

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
"Curiosity. Lots and lots of it. I'm also very curious to how you would react if I pierced you with ice."

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
"I was extremely popular among books. How many times do I have to repeat that aside from the monk and me we were alone in that... foggy library place thing. Everytime I think about that place I get a terrible headache so can we just stop talking about it?"

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
"I've never been interested in love. What a waste of time it is."

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
"I am, my weak body wouldn't be able to handle something like that... How did we go from childhood and family questions to talking about my sex life? You're a creep."

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
"Let's see... From what I've heard the thaumaturges say, I was born with an important amount of aether in my body, much higher than most mages. Apparently it's what makes my spells so strong, but also what makes my body so weak, it should also affect my mind but so far I've never felt better. I would definitely feel even better if I could burn you though."

Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
"The Calamity. At the time I had no idea why the place started breaking down. The monk died, the place where I lived had been destroyed yet I somehow managed to survive. It was also the start of my freedom. I decided to gather as much money as I could from the broken down place and set off. Lucky me, the village next door hadn't been hit yet and still had chocobos to rent. Needless to say I stole the most comfortable one and went from village to village.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?

"Books. What did you expect me to say?"

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
"Learning black magic."

32. What is your greatest regret?
"I don't have one. Not yet at least."

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?

"More than once I had to take care of certain persons when I took up missions for money. I didn't really care if they were innocent or not, I needed the money to be able to eat, drink and sleep. I made sure they all died while asleep, painlessly. Except that a$#!% that laughed at me for being tired after walking less than a mile, I made sure he died painfully."

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?

"I'm smart enough not to leave any evidences when I take these kind of requests. I make sure there are no witnesses either."

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
"When I met my first monster, I wasn't able to completely control even basic magic. Once I killed it though, everything was clearer in my head."

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
"The thaumaturge guild checking out my physical abilities. It was awkward after I showcased my magical abilities."

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
"I don't know."

38. What is your best memory?
"My first kill. Imagine little weak me burning to the ground a monster."

39. What is your worst memory?
"Learning how to somewhat walk. You don't know how frustrating that was. Your endless stream of questions is nearly as frustrating right now."

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
"I optimistically want to burn you."

41. What is your greatest fear?
"Losing my magical abilities. I'd be useless, completely useless."

42. What are your religious views?

"Don't care."

43. What are your political views?

"Don't care either."

44. What are your views on sex?

"Not possible, I've already explained that, I hate you."

45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?

"Yes I'm able to kill. As long as it's not in public, unless the situation calls for it. Bonus points if I'm paid enough."

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?

"There are so many evil things one can do, I'm not sure what to answer."

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?

"How many times do I have to answer those kind of love questions?"

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?

"Power."

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?

"Very honest, especially when you're burning."

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?

"Anything weaker than me isn't worth my time, I'm jealous of anything stronger than me and knowledge is everything."

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?

"Anything too physical, self-explanatory."

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?

"I'd go to extreme lengths to obtain more power. Dying is out of the question, that means I'd lose everything I worked for."

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance,
etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?

"Rudely. If they're really helpful then I'll start being less rude."

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?

"I don't have one."

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?

"Isn't this question exactly the same as the "who's your role model" question? You're just having fun wasting my time aren't you?"

56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.

"I don't have any."

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.

"..........."

61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why
or why not?

"..........................."

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?

"Anybody would gladly help you if you have enough money."

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?

"Those bulky guys that can take over a hundred hits to the face are very useful meatshields when I'm in a group, but I can't constantly rely on them."

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?

"Not a lot of people."

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?

"Right now it's you."

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?

"Avoiding conflicts leads to an amazing amount of time saved, but I'll have to admit that arguing can be pretty fun."

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?

"No."

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?

"During battles I don't mind but outside them? Not really."

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?  If so, why?  Do you want to quit?

"No, those things would probably kill me."

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?

"Either I have a mission to complete or a book to read, and this doesn't just apply to Saturday."

78. What makes you laugh?

"I enjoy well thought jokes once in a while. You thought I was going to say something along the lines of "the desperate face monsters make when close to death"? Thanks for thinking of me as a complete monster I don't feel offended at all."

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?

"If you see something burning then that means it probably irritated me."

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse
yourself?

"Books. Again."

81. How do you deal with stress?

"Casting spells on training dummies is a great way to relieve some stress."

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?

"Having a plan is always good, but not everything always follow your plan, being able to make the right decision in those moments is even more important."

83. What are your pet peeves?

"I've thought of getting a pet, but for now they seem to be more of a burden than anything else. Maybe I'll get one when I think I'm strong enough, maybe..."

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
"Wake up, eat, get missions, plan missions, kill monsters on the way, finish mission, kill monsters on the way back, report, get money, eat, get books, read books, sleep. This routine is rarely disturbed."

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?

"My magical abilities. My magic is very strong, albeit a bit slower than most thaumaturges. When it comes to rampage and destruction, I'm your woman. It seems that my resistance to magic is also very good."

86. What is your greatest weakness?

"Defending, dodging, parrying, taking hits. The teleport spell takes care of one of those issues."

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

"Having above average physical abilities, only if I get to keep my magical powers."

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?

"Introverted. It's not that I'm shy, it's just that half of the time I don't care about everything next to me."

89. Are you generally organized or messy?

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you
consider yourself to be very bad at.

"Magic offense, magic defense, memory games. Anything physical, anger management, luck."

91. Do you like yourself?

"I could be better."

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)

"To become stronger, get more power. It also lets me read books from everywhere in Eorzea."

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?

"As a powerful black mage, hopefully."

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?

"Find a way to not die times three."

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?

"My power. What's up with the death themed questions anyway?"

98. What three words best describe your personality?

"Low Tolerance Thaumaturge."

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?

"Angry Psycho Bitch, somebody actually called me that once. Once."

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even
want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)

A squirrel drops from the sky landing in front of Myrrhine, holding a huge sign with "MAKE SOME FRIENDS YOU THICK HEADED GIRL!" written on it.

"...........Can I just go now?"

Part 1: The Basics
Show Content
Spoiler
1.What is your full name?
I am X'sol Tia. But Tia is not my name, it is a title denoting my station in the tribe.

2.Where and when were you born?
I was born in the village of the Lynx tribe at the western foot of the Coerthas mountain range, in the year 1555 of the Sixth Umbral Era.

3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My father is X'loka Nunh, my mother is X'eos Nivis.
My father is a kind man with an even temper. Quick to laugh, slow to anger, and fair in all matters. I am quite fond of my father. He takes a particular interest in his sons, taking it upon himself to teach us how to become strong and clever, and he always takes great pleasure in regaling us with tales of his own youthful misfortunes and indiscretions.

My mother is a strong willed woman, with piercing eyes and a sharp tongue, but a gentle heart. She always puts the well-being of her children before anything else, but can at times be a bit idealistic in her opinion of us.
She loves coming up with witty insults, which are more often than not aimed at my father, and his seemingly carefree attitude.

4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?
I have two younger brothers. And as they are my younger brothers, naturally I can't stand them most of the time.

5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.
Currently, I reside in Limsa Lominsa. I recently left the village to learn about the world, and seek out new knowledge to bring back to the tribe.

6.What is your occupation?
I do whatever people pay me to do. Currently, the most lucrative work I've found is as a sell-sword, but I'm not what you would call married to any particular vocation.

7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Race: Miqo'te
Sex: Male
Height: 5 fulms and 7 ilm (170cm)
Weight: 155 ponz (70kg)
Hair Colour: Blue (Grey)
Eye Colour: Pale green
Style of Dress: Loose and casual

8.To which social class do you belong?
I am a Tia of the Lynx tribe. The oldest of only three Tia in my generation, the other two being my brothers.

9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Having grown up in the northern mountains, I am quite tolerant of cold. However, that also means I'm less tolerant of heat than most.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Right-handed.

11. What does your voice sound like?
Baritone.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
To be honest, I haven't a clue. I can't exactly profess to having spent copious amounts of time analyzing my own speech patterns. Although I guess I do say "Fair enough" quite frequently.

13. What do you have in your pockets?
Some gil, a notebook, a waterskin, a couple of apples, and a bottle of apple brandy... I like apples, what of it?

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I often treat serious matters with some degree of levity.
People sometimes misconstrue it as a lack of tact or delicacy, but that implies a lack of ability, rather than a choice.
If I'm being brutally honest, it is not because I do not know how to spare people's feelings. It is because I do not care about sparing their feelings. There's a subtle but significant difference.

Part 2: Growing Up
Show Content
Spoiler
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Relaxed, carefree, indulgent.
There were no real expectations place on me. And I was free to learn and explore at my leisure. Good times...

16. What is your earliest memory?

When I was 4 cycles old my father had taken me upstream to see the wild chocobos living in the foothills to the north. My first memory is standing on a small hill, holding my father's hand, seeing the chocobos flee back into the dense mountain forest as a swarm of dragons came down from the western mountains, sweeping across the valley towards Ishgard.
It was an amazing sight.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Naturally, all the children in the village were taught how to hunt, and skin, and cook their prey.
My mother also taught me how to read and write, using the books that the others had brought back to the village from their trading voyages to Limsa Lominsa.
My father taught me how to fight, and how to listen to what people were actually saying, and not just what the words meant.
But I have not had any formal schooling.

18. Did you enjoy school?
I enjoyed learning. I enjoyed my parents complimenting me when I accomplished something I had previously failed at.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
My parents, mostly. Some things I figured out on my own, or from books. And some things I learned from the others in the tribe.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
It sounds a bit cliché saying it, but my father was my role model. He was strong and confident. Everyone in the tribe liked and respected him, even the Tia who occasionally challenged him harboured no ill will against him.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
We got along much like you'd expect.
We fought, we had fun together, we cried together, we laughed together. You know... A normal tribe.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
It's a bit embarassing, but I wanted to be a dragon.
Seeing the massive creatures flying so high above the ground, they looked invincible. And I wanted to be like that.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
I used to love to go fishing, playing hide and seek with the other children, and catching arbor squirrels and insects in the forest.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
That's a difficult question. Do children even have personality traits? Over-reliance on adults? Unquestioning trust in their parents? They're all pretty much the same. Except the evil ones who torture small animals, of course.

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I suppose I wasn't not popular. All the children in the tribe played together.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
It was with one of the girls sired by the Nunh prior to my father. I was 14 and she was 16 cycles old.

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Uhm, well... *Laughs* I don't kiss and tell.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
*Looks confused* What the bloody hell is a vampire?

Part 3: Past Influences

Spoiler
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Right now. Leaving the tribe to explore the world. Most of the year in the village is spent either trying to make it through the winter, or preparing for the next one.
Being granted the opportunity to go out into the world to learn new things and find new tools or techniques that I can then bring back to the tribe, is something that could ease that burden significantly, and something that is an immensely important to me.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
Hard to say, a person is the sum of everyone they've met, and every experience they've ever had.
So, I guess Hydaelyn has had the greatest influence on me.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I once stared down a coeurl. That's pretty impressive, right?

32. What is your greatest regret?
That's a stupid question. I try not to regret anything. Because if nothing else, I learned something from my mistakes. So I've lost something, and gained something else.
It's not like I can take it back, so what's the point in wasting my energy regretting it?

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Evil is relative.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Not yet. *Chuckles*

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
The coeurl incident I mentioned before. It happened when I was 10 cycles old. Me and my brothers were out playing and a coeurl came down from the mountain.
I was off spearfishing in a river when I heard my brother scream. So I ran over, and the coeurl was closing in on them. There wasn't enough time to think, so I just jumped in between them and tried to look fierce, yelling and hissing at it.
The coeurl didn't seem very afraid, roaring at us, but I stood my ground. And when I took a step forward, roaring right back at it, it decided to back up and run away.
I guess it wasn't used to things that didn't flee from it, and didn't want to take any chances.
At the time though, I honestly thought we were all going to die.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
Hmm, I'm debating whether or not I should tell you this... I guess it's fine.
I told you before about my first kiss. Well, truth is I really liked that girl, and this happened some time after that.
A bunch of us were sitting around talking, and I was trying to be suave and impress her. And I got up to leave, still very much trying my hardest, when I slipped and fell face first right into a big puddle of mud. Everyone was laughing at me. And I think she was laughing even harder than the others. It was humiliating.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
Maybe that one. Or maybe not. It was humiliating, sure, but because of it I did get to see her smile. And she was extraordinarily beautiful when she smiled.

38. What is your best memory?
*Smiles* That memory is for me alone.

39. What is your worst memory?
It's difficult to say. Bad memories make for great stories, so doesn't that make them pretty okay memories?

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Probably optimistic, but I try to also be realistic.

41. What is your greatest fear?
Being left behind.

42. What are your religious views?
Like most of my kin I worship Azeyma, the Goddess of inquiry.

43. What are your political views?
I think the best system is if everyone can be part of the decision making process.

44. What are your views on sex?
I'm all for it.

45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
Of course. You kill when you have to. That's life.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any person could do?
Again, it's relative. To me, it's betraying those who trust and rely on you.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
I can't say I do. It would be quite unfair if it did exist.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Define success. To me, it means strengthening one's tribe.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
In general I'm fairly honest. But I don't really volunteer information about my self without reason, or if it might impact me negatively.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Honestly, I think Lalafell are ridiculous creatures. They're weak. Without their magic they wouldn't last a day. And weakness should not be viewed with pity, but contempt.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against magic per se. It is a very useful art, and it makes life so much simpler for everyone. But at it's heart it is still only a crutch, and not true strength.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?
I refuse to shave off my mane. You will have to kill me first. A Miqo'te without a mane is no Miqo'te at all.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
My tribe, obviously.

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I try to remain neutral. I will not antagonize anyone without reason, nor will I go out of my way to accomodate them.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
How would you even go about measuring something like that? I don't know. There are a lot of people who are important to me.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
We already went over this earlier. What are you doing?

56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I have many friends, I'm not going to sit here naming them all.
And no, I don't have a "best" friend. What kind of person ranks their friends?

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.
No. Next question.

58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.
Yes - No - Next question.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Love, I suppose.

60. How close are you to your family?
I know everyone in my tribe.

61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?
No - Yes - Why? Biological imperative.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
I would try to deal with it on my own. But if it was absolutely impossible, my tribe would help me out.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?
I can protect myself. I would still trust anyone in my tribe though, but especially my mother. She is crazy fierce. I think she could possibly take down a dragon with her bare hands.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
My tribe would.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
You. You ask too many questions.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I enjoy conflict. How else do you prove yourself? *Smirks*

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
It happens, but I'm more comfortable sitting back and observing.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?
I'm quite ambivalent to the scenario.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
Of course. Owning a reputation is one of the most important things in life.

70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
I like fishing, and reading.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
My life. Best gift ever.

72. What is your favorite color?
The blood of my enemies!
No, I don't have one. I'm not too fond of yellow or purple. I guess that's something.

73. What is your favorite food?
I love all kinds of seafood. My father taught me how to make a delicious smoked northern pike.

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
A bit of everything. Right now I'm reading a book about armour smithing. I might have to try out a few of these techniques actually...

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Music, theatre, reading.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?  If so, why?  Do you want to quit?
Of course I drink, doesn't everyone? Why would I want to quit?

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
There is no typical day for me. Routine isn't my forte.

78. What makes you laugh?
Not puns, that much is certain.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Cowardice offends me. Also, crossbreeding.

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
I would stalk something for fun. Keeping your instincts sharp is never a waste of time.

81. How do you deal with stress?
I don't have to, I'm not stressed.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I'm often spontaneous.

83. What are your pet peeves?
People who waste food, Miqo'te who don't groom properly, and men who begin a sentence with "but". "But of course." being the only acceptable exception. Beginning a sentence with "but" makes it sound like you're making excuses.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
*Sighs* Like I said, I don't have routines. So there's nothing to disrupt.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
Adaptability.

86. What is your greatest weakness?
*Snorts* I'd have to be some manner of idiot to tell you that.

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I'd make myself 20% less awesome. It feels like I'm overdoing it at the moment.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I am whatever best suits the situation... Adaptable, remember?

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
Messy. Life isn't neat, so why pretend?

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
I'm good at fighting, hunting, and cooking.
I'm less good at being tolerant, swallowing my pride, and alchemy.

91. Do you like yourself?
What's not to like?

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
I tell people I became an adventurer to find ways to further benefit my tribe. And that's not a lie. Although it isn't the whole truth. More than anything else I wanted to get out and see the world and learn new things for myself.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
Who even knows? I'll let you know once I find out myself.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Walking around, being 5 years older.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Anything but fire.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Find a courier to carry my notebook with all of my findings back to my tribe, drink a whole bunch of the most expensive rum I could find, and bed the prettiest Miqo'te girl around. Or quite literally die trying.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
Greatly increasing the prosperity of the tribe. Also increasing the size of the tribe by siring lots of kittens.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
That's quite an insult, insinuating that my personality is so shallow it could be summed up in three words. I'll let it slide this time, but don't let it happen again.

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
"What the fuck?"

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
*Gives two thumbs up* Keep up the good work, bro!

Part 1: The Basics

Show Content
Spoiler1. What is your full name?
"Ah...a pleasure to meet you. My name...er, my -full- name is Khyros Lucan Oroban."

2. Where and when were you born?
"I was born on the ninth day of the third umbral moon, in the prosperous city of Ul'dah, fourteen years before the Battle of Carteneau, and the ensuing calamity."

3. Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
"I'm told by family acquaintances that I take more heavily after my father. He was a prosperous merchant who operated out of Ul'dah. Gwyn Artus Oroban was his name, and mighty proud of his talents with the economy. He met my mother during an attack on one of his caravans, a Highlander Flame Corporal by the name of Esyllt Fangbreaker. He was smitten, you know, the poor sap. She wouldn't give a pampered merchant the time of day, even if she'd fight to protect the citizenry of Ul'dah. What was a man to do for love at first sight? I don't understand it myself, but he threw away his savings to enroll in the Arzaneth Ossuary, and later join the Immortal Flames himself. I suppose it worked, now didn't it?"

4. Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?
"Alas, would that I did. I wasn't gifted with any siblings, though that means I garnered the lion's share of the affection from my parents. That which wasn't given to each other or the people for whom they fought and...well, that's not pertinent to the question. I do ramble, my apologies."

5. Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.
"My current permanent residence is in Ul'dah. Small, clean, and rarely used, since I tend to travel. A bed, a bookshelf, armoire, and bathing area. Not much else is needed for one who rarely has company at home."

6. What is your occupation?
"I'm currently unemployed. It would be a dream to join the Immortal Flames in the footsteps of my parents, mind you, but before I can do that I feel that I need to find myself. If I can't know and understand myself, it will be impossible to have the implacable confidence in duty that I would require."

7. Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
Height: 70 Ilm
Weight: 184 pounds
Race: Hyur
Hair: White/Green
Eye Color: Yellow
Style of Dress: Comfortable and protective, without being restrictive.
Tattoos/Distinguishing Marks: None

8. To which social class do you belong?
"Comfortably lower middle class thanks to money left by my parents and their military pension. It won't last forever, though."

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
"No, no I do not."

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
"I'm ambidextrous, but only write with the right."

11. What does your voice sound like?
"Why, gossamer, dulcet tones that sound smoother than silk, of course." A smirk. His voice was quiet and smooth, though possessed of a slight gravelly undertone that he quite plainly did his best to keep understated.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
"Interesting. It's a very malleable word."

13. What do you have in your pockets?
"A small amount of spending money, a list of local restaurants, and a few dried insects. Don't ask."

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
"Some find my temper to be bothersome. Well, that or the results of it..."

Part 2: Growing Up

Show Content
Spoiler15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
"Idyllic, in my own opinion. I had two parents who made sure I was taken care of, educated, and loved. I have no regrets, even for the mistakes I know I made."

16. What is your earliest memory?
"My first day of schooling, leaving my home. My father's nervous face, and my mother towering behind him, giving me her best...well, least frightening encouraging smile. It's a wonderful memory, and set the stage for my childhood." He smiled softly, eyes wrinkling slightly around the edges in remembrance.

17. How much schooling have you had?
"I was taught literature, philosophy, and natural science, as many people are when given the opportunity for schooling. But thanks to my family's military service, my education focused more on the practical. Physical education, military theory, battlefield knowledge. Even last ditch triage."

18. Did you enjoy school?
"Of course I did. It made me a better person, and I used to...still do, idolize my parents. I was becoming more like them every day."

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
"I inherited a healthy physique from my mother, you could say. My appearance more heavily favors my father, as do my deft hands. I hadn't the faith in sword and shield my mother did, so instead I've forged myself. The pugilist's guild was gladly willing to aid me in that endeavor."

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
"We've been over this, of course. My parents, both of them."

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
"My father had a few siblings who he never spoke to, and my mother was a fish out of water in Ul'dah. We were all that each other had, but we were never wanting."

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
"Honestly? My mother. She was big, and strong, and solid, and everything that was permanent and right with the world."

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
"Running about outdoors when not studying. Occasionally prompting scuffles with other children for the usual puerile reasons."

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
"Wildness, curiosity, eagerness to learn, and rambunctious, sometimes violent temperament."

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
"I had a few close friends, but I was on relatively good terms with many of the children in my classes, and those belonging to other members of the Immortal Flames. My closest friend was a small Lalafell boy named Kokomura. He was, for lack of a more polite term, my lackey more often than not."

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
"A gentleman does not kiss and tell."

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
Arms crossed. Brow raised. Oh, that expression of bemused annoyance.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
"Another question we had covered earlier on in this interview, no? Though I suppose you might consider the sense of life's energy, or 'chakra' as the Fists of Rhalgr call it, supernatural? That story itself is...personal. My apologies."

Part 3: Past Influences

Show Content
Spoiler29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
"The battle of Carteneau. That's all I will say."

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
"My mother, followed closely by my father."

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
"Letting go of hatred. I have long had an issue with that."

32. What is your greatest regret?
"That everyone has to die. It's not a personal regret, I know, but I don't regret my personal actions."

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
"Made a boy eat a few handfuls of sand from the Chocobo enclosure after he said something rude about my parents."

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
"I could likely give up my aspirations if I did, so no."

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
"The short period of time after the calamity. Funny how fear is preferable to having that fear confirmed."

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
"Hum. The first girl I ever brought home was scared of my mother. I was more embarrassed by the girl's actions, obviously."

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
"...nothing. The one thing I wish I could change is something that I never could, nor would those involved wish me to."

38. What is your best memory?
"My fourteenth birthday. There was a small party, my friends, my family, and they let me stay up late and get into the spiced wine. They saw me as a young man for the first time instead of their little boy."

39. What is your worst memory?
"Having their medals returned me."

Part 4: Beliefs and Opinions

Show Content
Spoiler40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
"I would have to say an optimist. A man may be able to only do what he can, but that much is often enough."

41. What is your greatest fear?
"To give in to hate and lose what I've spent my entire life working for."

42. What are your religious views?
"I would consider myself devout, though my practice has fallen by the wayside in lieu of working and traveling too much."

43. What are your political views?
"I am loyal to the Sultana, and to those who live in Hydaelyn as a whole."

44. What are your views on sex?
"Well, you see, when a man and a woman love each other veeeery much..." A quirked lip in a small, teasing smirk.

45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
"I can and have. Circumstances are just that. Circumstantial."

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
"Evil is subjective...but to harm those who have no recourse is disgusting."

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
"Oh yes, yes I do. I haven't seen any evidence of one for myself, but I know for a fact that it exists."

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
"Contentment. It isn't about what, or how much you do, but whether or not in your heart you are happy with it. A man with a heart full of greed can be ill content even with a fortune, while a man who lives for those he loves can die happily as a pauper."

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
"Why would I ever lie? Everyone has secrets, but honesty in dealing with those who matter to you is paramount."

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
"The Garle...no. No, I'm past that. Judgment should be on one's actions, not who or what they are."

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?
"I will not betray someone who has placed their trust in me. If I willingly break my word, what will it be worth in the future?"

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
"I...don't know. Perhaps one day I'll find something I feel that intensely about."

Part 5: Relationships with Others

Show Content
Spoiler53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
"Polite is a perfect word to describe my interactions with strangers. Those I know better, perhaps I would be a bit more coarse, or open. Those who rub me the wrong way will likely find themselves on the receiving end of my temper."

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
"Currently in? Myself."

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
"My parents, Hamon Holyfist, and lord Raubahn Aldynn."

56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.
"As a current itinerant, I haven't formed any lasting attachments. A man can dream, can he not?"

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.
"Unfortunately, no."

58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.
"I've thought so, many times. But somehow, I don't believe it took."

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?

60. How close are you to your family?
"You could say that I carry them with me always."

61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?
"Hm? Oh, no, no."

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
"The colleagues of my parents, most like. The Immortal Flames are as stolid as could be."

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?
"I've had transient companions, but nothing of more than passing note."

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
"I choose not to answer this question."

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
"There are only two people I would despise, at most. Most likely they have already died, so I hold no grudges."

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
"Arguments imply that there are two sides to it. I only make a fuss when I know that I am right."

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
"In a social situation? It varies, depending on the makeup of the group and its purpose."

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?
"It's a good way to meet people. Just like being assigned to a new regiment, without the early wake-up calls and grueling training."

69. Do you care what others think of you?
"Depending on whom the opinion belongs to."

Part 6: Likes and Dislikes

73. What is your favorite food?

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
"A rousing dance. Music, lively or sedate. Sport fighting."

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?  If so, why?  Do you want to quit?
"I fear not. That would be detrimental to myself."

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
"The same thing I do most every night. Read by candlelight or work off excess energy before sleeping."

78. What makes you laugh?
"Watching someone get just comeuppance. That may be a bit cruel, I'm aware."

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
"The way the citizens of my home treat refugees from the Calamity. It nearly turns my stomach."

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
"Work myself until physical exhaustion crushed the insomnia in its grasp, of course."

81. How do you deal with stress?
"Let it go. Take a deep breath. Center myself and move on."

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
"Plan for the long term, adapt for the moment."

83. What are your pet peeves?
"People who don't appreciate what they have before seeking to grasp more."

Part 7: Self Images and Etc.

Show Content
Spoiler84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
"I wake early and go for a run. I eat breakfast, either at a reasonable restaurant or stand, or something dried and available. I spend the day walking, riding, or exploring for the next landmark as I go from place to place. If it's disrupted, then I thank the Twelve for the chance to experience something new."

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
"Determination."

86. What is your greatest weakness?
"Living entirely in the moment. Always weighing consequences."

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
"Long periods of solitude have left me an introvert, for the moment."

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
"Organized. It was beaten...er, not literally, mind you, into me as a child. Things go where they belong, just in case an inspection is coming."

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
"I am determined. My visual acuity and dextrous hands make for a significant talent for hand to hand combat, especially that requiring limber movements or relying on the physical rather than protective gear or weaponry. And I have a knack for learning, eager to devour new lore and information."

91. Do you like yourself?
"I do."

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
"Adventurer? I suppose that's a good way to describe what I do. I travel until I find myself, what I want to be. What I will be. I believed I mentioned that earlier, actually."

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
"To create a legacy that will inspire someone the same way that I myself have been inspired."

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
"Make my peace. Pay off any debts which I had incurred, so as not to inconvenience those whom I owe, and wait for the inevitable."

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
"I was a man, who for good or ill, believed in people, and in the future."

98. What three words best describe your personality?
"Stolid. Sharp-tongued. Determined."

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
"It's that guy."

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
Lighten up! Let loose! Make some friends and stop being so completely goal driven! You're determined enough to get there, so what's a small wait here and there to make good on your belief that you want happiness!

I figured since I'm new and I saw this thing, it might be sorta fun to do for my character. It really helped me build him better and I liked the topic so much I did it too.

2.Where and when were you born?
"I couldn't tell you, I was found abandoned on a road near the Southern Shroud"
3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

"The closest thing I've had to siblings is the others kids at the orphanage."
5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.
"I don't actually have a permanent place of residency. I travel to often to have an actual home. I live where ever I decide to set up camp, occasionally I spring some gil for a nice bed at an inn. As for roommates, I guess who ever I'm traveling with at the time. Boy do I have some stories about some of those guys."
6.What is your occupation?
"I'm sort of a jack of all trades, but if you read my fliers it clearly states, 'Talak Marcuz: Mercenary, Culnarian, Lancer, Handsome Adventurer"
7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.

Spoiler"Man I'm not good with these things. Leave the pretty words and descriptions to the scholars and mages okay."
8.To which social class do you belong?
"Well I'm not rich, but I'm not poor either. I guess I'm somewhere in the middle ground now."
9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
"I'm highly allergic to yogurt, just a teaspoon and I'm down."
10. Are you right- or left-handed?
 "Right-handed why?"
11. What does your voice sound like?
"Hmmm, never been asked that question before? I sound like well...me."
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
*brings his hand to scratch his head as he ponders this* "I don't know. I guess I talk about my tail a lot."
13. What do you have in your pockets?
" Right now!?"  *wrestles through pockets pulling out items as he names them* "I got some gil, some materia, and some candy"
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
*Seeming lost in thought* "I guess I have a bad habit of making jokes in serious moments. I call almost all my Lalafel friends 'Shortstack', I sunbathe a lot, and again I talk about my tail often I guess."
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
"It was normal Orphan story, I was found on a road in the Southern Shroud, taken in by the Matron, never got selected by any of foster families, grew up working at the orphanage until I left to become an adventurer."
16. What is your earliest memory?
"You promise you won't make fun of me?" *stares untrustingly* "Alright, I remember when I was little laying with this other kid at the orphanage in a field of flowers, looking up at the sky."
17. How much schooling have you had?
"We were taught basic schooling at the orphanage. I never really went on to do anything past that though."
18. Did you enjoy school?
"I guess. I mean it wasn't bad but it wasn't all that great."
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
"When I got old enough, I joined  the lancers guild in Gridania. I learn almost everything I know from them."
20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
*nods reflecting on her* "There was this one girl. She was midlander." *smiles* "Kifasha, is all I knew her as. She never gave me a last name. I met her while I was out on a quest for the lancer's guild. I got a little too full of myself and thought I could get the quest done faster by cutting through a cave, which happened to be a wolfs den. I got serious injured and just when I thought I was gonna die, out of know where this silver streak of light flashes before me and I see an arrow sticking out of the wolfs skull. When I turned to see who the arrow belong to, there she was. Clothed in silver armor wielding a white bow." *sighs softly* "But enough about Kifasha."
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
"I had my friends, my rivals, ya know normal childhood stuff. I used to get into trouble all the time though. Sneaking out and pretending I was some big shot dragoon with a stick in hand."
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
"I wanted to be a dragon slayer and a top ranking adventurer. Ya know see the world, fame, fortune, exotic company."
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
"Well we used to pretend we were all adventurers protecting Eorzea from the Empire. I used to always play the role of the fearless dragoon with my friend Talyss as the holy white mage."
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
" Well I was always 'a handful' as the Matron would say. I don't think I changed too much though. Still the same ol' Talak."
25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
"Well we had a big family, but I did have my little group of close friends. Talyss, she was another miqo'te, hair as white as snow and she was always so nice to everybody. She used to make flower halos and force me to wear them. Then there was Kael, he was a midlander always talking about how much better the sword was to the lance, I guess you could call him my rival. We were always fighting over just about anything. And the Matron, she was kind of like a mother to all of us, raising us by herself mostly."
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
"A gentlemen never kisses and tells" *sticks tongue out teasingly*
27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
"Talak is as whimsical and carefree as the wind. Don't like that answer too bad. Next!"
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
"I'm not special, I'm just a miqo'te with a big sharp stick. Why a lancer, well I saw a bunch of adventurers one day and I met a Dragoon, he looked cool, sounded cool, and I guess from there I just wanted to do what he did."
Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
"Joining the Lancers Guild. Without them I wouldn't be able to so much as beat a forest fungar. It's because of their teachings, I'm half the man I am today."
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
"That's a tough one, probably Matron. She may have been a stick in the mud at times, but aside from the Lancers Guild, she's probably the most important factor shaping me into the Talak you see today"
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
"Getting out on my own and becoming my own adventurer."
32. What is your greatest regret?
"I was with a party once and we were hired to clear out some old ruins." *long pause*  (whispered to self) "If only I had been stronger"
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
"Evil is a matter of definition really, I mean I'm sure eating chocobo is looked down on but ya know those giant yellow chickens look pretty tasty sometimes."
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
"Well in my line of work, I've had to do some... shadier things before. Though I don't have a record or anything."
35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
"A client asked me to retrieve some feathers from one of the birds up on these cliffs." *shutters some* "I'm terrified of heights. So needless to say when I looked down hanging from the side of a cliff."
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
"When I was younger I lost a fight to microchu."
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
"I'd want to see my parents. Isn't that what every orphan wants? I just want to know of them even if I end up finding out they tossed me on the side of the road to die. I just want to know them."
38. What is your best memory?
"My initiation into the Lancer's Guild. Matron was so proud of me and it was my first step to becoming a real adventurer"
39. What is your worst memory?
"My biggest regret..." *looks down at his fists*
Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
"I'd like to think I'm an optimistic individual. Sunshine and roses in my world ya know?"
41. What is your greatest fear?
"Heights. I was born on the ground, that's where I'd like to stay thank you."
42. What are your religious views?
"I don't follow a religion really. I mean I don't mind if you do and I mind my manners in the company of more religious clients, but I don't have any beef with you unless you do with me first"
43. What are your political views?
"Politics are boring. Besides as long as they're arguing, I'm making money so."
44. What are your views on sex?
"Well, it's not a taboo subject in my opinion, but what do you mean? Do I like it, my preferences, what do I like to do, and you want that kind of information it's answer for answer. Nothings free."
45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
"I'm a hired sword, so to speak. We do what we're paid for. If I accept the job knowing somethings gonna die, then I know what I got into. I'll kill a monster for you no problem, but I don't like killing others, not to say I haven't before but it was a me or them situation. " *Sighs heavily* "Look the life of an adventurer is short enough without us having to kill each other. So I don't normally take hits out on someone unless they're just rotten to the core."
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
"As I've said, evil is a matter of perspective, for me murder is a big issue, but the most evil thing anyone could ever do..." *looks out the window* "To take away your freedom. To cage someone and strip them of their wings"
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
"I know love does exist out there. I can't say I've ever been fortunate enough to find it, then again it's not like I'm looking. I believe it exists, I just don't know if it's out there for me."
48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
"Being happy no matter what it is your doing. You can be poor and the happiest man alive, you and be rich and be miserable. For some its material things, others it's as simple as seeing the world and meeting new people. Warriors lust for the heat of battle, bards just want to tell their tales, scholars just thirst for knowledge, and I just want to find what it is that makes me truly happy."
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
"I'm an open book, sure I've got my secrets but they're not hard to find if you just read between the lines."
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
"I don't like the Ixal, I was raised in Gridania, so I guess I'm a little bias towards them. I don't really see how anyone is prejudice though, its the diversity in the world that makes it so interesting."
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?
"I will not harm or do anything that would harm, children, women, or the innocent."
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
"I couldn't tell you, I won't know until the time comes. I could take an arrow for a random stranger or be ran through to protect someone I love. Personally I don't want to know when or how I'll die and the thought of it leaves a bad taste."
Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
"I'm pretty much the same to everyone. Don't get me wrong, there are those few that just rub me the wrong way or seem a bit off. I live in a way that I treat others how I want to be treated."
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
"I am, it's my life and everything I've been doing up to now has been selfishly just for me and my comfort. That may change in time, but so far, Talak lives for Talak."
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
"Matron. She raised me, I respect her like a child does his mother."
56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.
"I used to have friends growing up." *faintly smiles* "But we went our separate ways and now I travel too much to have what you'd define as 'friends'. "
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.
"Nope, boys and girls. The Talak is single."
58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.
"Nope, I had a crush on Talyss when we were little but that's about it."
59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
"Personality, strength, humility, well... a lot of things really. Good looks never hurt but I'm more interested in the person. Even the most beautiful of wild roses wilt and wither. Your core self, that never changes. I'll find the right person eventually don't you worry. But until then, I'm not going to stress over it."
60. How close are you to your family?
"I still visit Matron sometimes. As for Talyss and Kael, I've run into them every now and again."
61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?
"Nope, you can't really have a family with my lifestyle."
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
"Matron"
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?
"If I need protecting, then no one. I wouldn't burden anyone with my problems. I have to just be strong and face them myself."
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
"Matron would for sure, I've  got money on Talyss and Kael missing me too, but we're adult enough to understand the dangers in our line of work."
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
"I don't despise anyone. Not that I'm not capable of it, but no one has ever warrented hatred from me."
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
"I've been known to argue rarely, normally I get along with everyone or I just don't hang around them."
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
" I know my way around battling and questing pretty well. So normally yeah, though sometimes I'm hired as just extra help and I'm under someone else leadership. Doesn't bother me really."
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?
"I love people! I have no problem working with large or small groups. Now if I'm on the job to protect people, the smaller the care package the better but that's just for my own ease."
69. Do you care what others think of you?
"Yes and no. I don't want people to look down on me, but I know who I am and what I'm about."
Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
"I like to cook, train, swim, and relax. Though nothing beats laying in the flowers when the suns up high and just relaxing."
71. What is your most treasured possession?
"A rose I got when I was little." (Talyss gave him a crystal rose)
72. What is your favorite color?
 "Green"
73. What is your favorite food?
 "Meat Miq'abob"
74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
"I like fantasy stories. Ya know, the brave knight slays the dragon to save the maiden princess kind of thing"
75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
"Music is always good to the ears. I love to dance."
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?  If so, why?  Do you want to quit?
"I may drink time to time, but I don't smoke or do any drugs. And drinking isn't bad as long as you do it in moderation"
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
"Wrist deep in ooze, fully geared with lance in hand staring down some monster charging right at me"
78. What makes you laugh?
"Things that are funny, duh"
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
"I'm pretty hard to offend, so if you manage to do it, you're stepping on more than just my toes."
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
"Hmmm, I'd like to think I'd still enjoying the smell of roses, maybe I'd hang around the botanists guild a bit"
81. How do you deal with stress?
"I take a few dungeoneering jobs. Nothing blows off steam like a good fight."
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
"What's a plan? I'm a lancer, I have one job, 'Hit it with a stick'."
83. What are your pet peeves?
" I don't like it when people mess with my ears or tail."
Part 7: Self Images And Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
"Wake up, stretch a little get the blood pumpin', if I don't have any jobs I check the local guilds for any jobs I can take, insert job and food. Good times. Occasionally I find myself unable to get a job or something and am striken with boredom for the rest of the day. So I sometimes head to the inns and mingle, or just relax out in the wilderness."
85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
"My loyalty  I would say my charming personality but it's gotten me slapped a few times" *smiles rubbing his cheek*
86. What is your greatest weakness?
"My loyalty. Sometimes being too trusting is a bad thing."
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
*ponders a moment* "I don't know, I'd like green eyes maybe?"
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
"Extroverted. I hate it when I go a long time without talking to anyone."
89. Are you generally organized or messy?
"I'm a fine mix of both, sure I seem messy at times but there's order to it"
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
"I'm good at fighting, cooking, and dancing. I'm terrible at understanding magic, fishing, and talking to someone I find attractive"
91. Do you like yourself?
"I hope so! I mean have you met me!?"
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
"I want to travel the world, ya know. See what's out there, taste all the best foods, meet all the different people. Eventually I want to find a place and settle down with the money I've made adventuring with someone special, but that's waaaaay down the road."
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
"I'd like to be someone everyone recognizes and respects. I want them to tell tales about me long after I'm dead. Talak Marcuz, the Handsome Adventurer."
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
"Don't know, I don't look into the future, I live in the now, that's what's important."
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
"I wouldn't choose. I don't want to know when or how, when my time's up...it's up."
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
"Say goodbye to Matron, dance with someone I've never met, and smile right before I go"
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
"I want people to remember what I did, I don't know what all that is yet, but I want to be known for what I've done in my life."
98. What three words best describe your personality?
"Whimsical, Flattering, Brave"
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
"Handsome, Strong, and Happy"
100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
"You know Talak, if you weren't so arrogant and full of yourself, you just might your life just a little bit easier. You just want what we all want. Being happy is a good goal, do what makes you happy, but try to do it without stepping on EVERYONE'S toes. " *turns around before he exists* "AND STOP SAYING 'THE TALAK' ALL THE DAMN TIME! IT'S WIERD!"

RE: 100 Questions to Ask About Your Role-Playing Character |
#96
09-13-2013, 05:39 PM
Wow... that was... daunting. So many questions about so many details. It really did help me figure out how I wanted to play him though.

... though I didn't realize going into it just how much of a Goody Two-Shoes McNice my guy was going to be. But to be honest I think guys like this are becoming scarce lately anyway so why not have someone who just wants peace and friendship all the time every once in a while.

For added amusement: take a drink everytime he mentions his brothers.

Tatarin Totorin
Part 1: The Basics
1.What is your full name?
Tatarin Totorin

2.Where and when were you born?
In Ul'dah on the 15th day of the 5th Umbral Moon.

3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My father is Lolorin Lalarin, a geologist who spends most of his time writing essays that are only interesting to him and a very small niche of geophiles. My mother, Tatoha Tato, used to spend all her time trying to kick my brothers and I out of the house so we wouldn't end up like our father, and now spends what seems like all of her time writing us letters every few days.

4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?
I have 2 siblings, both older brothers. Though the three of us love our father dearly we also collectively think his life is fairly boring... though this thought was possibly instilled in us by our mother who regaled us with tales of far lands from the books she collects from abroad (she's just as much a bookworm as my father, though she'll never admit it). Anyway, the oldest, Tataloro Totoloro, always had a great mind for sums, so now he's doing quite well in a trade caravan he practically runs. My next brother, Tatamini Totomini, is very close to me in age and we were always best friends growing up. We even went to the same school to start learning magic together, but his personality was more suited to Thaumatergy and now he's off having wild and perilous adventures which he takes great pleasure writing to my mother and I about every chance he gets.

5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.
I'm currently just getting my bearings in Limsa Lominsa, trying to work my way up in the world as an Arcanist while funding my efforts through apprentice goldsmithing and some mining on the side. I have a tiny apartment in a back-alley somewhere and now that you mention it I really wish I had someone to live with... I do so miss my family sometimes.

6.What is your occupation?
Hopefully a full-time healer, part time goldsmith at some point... but for now about the best I can claim is a slayer of pests and doer of odd jobs.

7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
I'm a little short, being the 'runt of the litter' as it were, though my brothers never teased me about it. I have light, sandy hair that darkens a little at the tips, I don't really do anything to style it so it just sort of flops around. My mother used to have me cut it shorter, but now that I'm out of the house I tend to let it grow out and get a little messy. My eyes are lavender, and no one's ever used any poetic phrases to describe them so I don't think I'll make up any of my own. Mostly people (used to) tend to notice my cheeks. For some reason the only part of my face that would get sunburned were my cheeks. THAT my brothers loved to tease me about, insisting I was always fawning after some girl or other. Finally I got so tired of it I took to wearing small swabs of white dye on my cheeks to keep them from burning. This brought a few strange looks but it was better than people thinking I was blushing all the time.
I don't have quite enough money to be too concerned about fashion. I tend to just wear whatever is serviceable. If someone gives me a new smock for ridding their garden of Mandragora, why I put it on. Saves me from having to wear the ones I've worn ragged. I do take at least a little pride in my jewelry, though, and I'm always on the lookout for a good earring or pendant to add just a little sparkle to my image. My family were fairly religious, so we all have our birth stones on our foreheads.
Other than that... well... I've been told I have a nice smile.

8.To which social class do you belong?
The one with the people who aren't starving but have to wear patched clothes. Most of the family funding comes from my brothers, who are significantly better off than either I or my parents. I feel a little guilty whenever I use money they've sent me, though, so I tend to be as frugal with it as I can.

9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
Besides easily-sunburned cheeks? Not that I know of. I'd prefer if I was allergic to fish, though, as then I'd have an excuse to never eat them. Eugh. (Though I wouldn't mind catching them now and then if it turned a profit.)

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Right

11. What does your voice sound like?
Well I have a fair singing voice and can hit any high note you can name, but I tend to jabber a little when I get started talking... a defense mechanism while growing up, you see; anytime we could get a word in edgewise with our father when he started going on about his rocks we'd tend to try to keep talking for as long as possible just to keep him from starting up again. In other words people tend to say that I have a nice voice they just wish I wouldn't use it so much.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
'Fair' and 'Fairly' tend to come up a lot, though I don't usually notice it unless I pay close attention to what I'm saying. My characteristic phrase would probably be 'That sounds fair'... though I tend to use it in the types of situations where my brothers would respond 'Only to someone whose burning cheeks have roasted his brain'.

13. What do you have in your pockets?
A small book, the latest letters from my brothers and mother, and some bits of metal I've been working at.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
I tend to touch my gemstone when considering a deal or venture. I also tend to be a bit of a pushover and an easy sell. I can't help it. I can never seem to weigh money against an opportunity to help someone out or make someone's day... even if that person knows it and is just taking advantage of my kindness.

Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
Father was very insistent on us all getting a very good education, being a scholar himself, so we spent a lot of time studying. Since I was the youngest I actually learned quite a bit from my brothers. However, my mother was just as insistent that we not end up buried under piles of dusty books all the time, so she would usually shoo us out of the house after a while to run around the city. Many a day I spent tagging along behind my brothers, sharing in their adventures.

16. What is your earliest memory?
I remember falling asleep to the sound of either my father or eldest brother reading to me in a gentle voice from a large tome on their lap.

17. How much schooling have you had?
Quite a bit. I dual-majored in Geology (with a particular focus on gemstone mining) and the Arcanist arts. I have a special affinity for the healing arts, and most of my elective classes were aimed toward becoming a better healer.

18. Did you enjoy school?
Oh yes. Those who studied the healing arts were usually the first invited to accompany teams doing their practical exams. I always felt bad for the poor fighting classes that had to sit on the benches waiting for their turn while I got to go out time after time. I did get my head dunked in a fountain once or twice for missing the timing on my heals now and then, but I was still fairly popular among the groups that used me regularly.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
My father taught me the basics of geology, but beyond that I learned most of my magic, mining and metalwork in the academy.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
Well of course I always looked up to my brothers. My eldest brother inherited all the intelligence in the family, and the next eldest got all the bravery. I always felt I had been left with the dregs as it were. I wanted to be smart and brave and self-confident enough to dash off having my own adventures, but most of the time I just found myself tagging along behind, letting my brothers decide our adventures for the day. Even now, whenever I read a letter from them, I wish I could be as successful as my brothers.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
Oh wonderfully.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be rich enough to wear dozens of precious gems and have my own little cache of every kind of glittering stone in the world. I suppose you could say that I always wanted to be a gemcutter, but at the time I had no idea that actual effort had to go into creating the beautiful gems used in jewelry... I probably assumed people just found perfectly cut gems laying around in caves somewhere.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
Following my brothers and watching the adventures they got themselves into.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was quite shy, and I often let my brothers do the talking for me. I hated being alone and quite enjoyed being spoiled by my doting older brothers.

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
Most of my earliest friends were actually my next oldest brother's friends. He was a very outgoing type and usually had a nice group of kids following him around most of the time. Since I also tended to follow him around, I just naturally worked my way into that group. Unfortunately, besides my brothers I never felt truly close to any of my other friends at that time.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Ahh. One of the upper-classmen girls I did a practical exam with rewarded me for a particualarly smart heal with a kiss that made my ears curl. Nothing really came of it, though... I think she thought of me as more of a little brother. It happens.

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
I... I'm saving myself for marriage u///u

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
I... wait... what? Vampires? Werewolves? Are you sure you gave me the right form? Who normally fills these out?

Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
I suppose it was when I finally parted ways with my brother and moved to Limsa Lominsa. Up to that point in my life I had always lived with my family and I doubt I spent more than a day or two apart from one of my brothers. Out on my own I couldn't rely on them anymore, and I couldn't hide in their shadow. I had to finally make my own story, with my own hands.

30. Who has had the most influence on you?
At the risk of sounding very repetitive, my brothers.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Finally getting my own place and starting out on my own adventure.

32. What is your greatest regret?
That it took me this long to learn the wonders of independence.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
Well there was this one real jerk at school who was always complaining that I was a horrible healer whenever we did practicals together. On one mission he got poisoned and I let him sweat for a few moments before applying the antidote. I did it in a moment of malice, and I regretted it deeply afterwards, even without him constantly berating me about it.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
Heavens no.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
My brothers, perhaps annoyed with my constant tagging-along or perhaps to teach me to be a bit more independant, took me to a dark cave and hid themselves. It was my first time feeling really, truly alone. I was terrified, and have hated being by myself ever since.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
Remember that first kiss I told you about? Well, it left such and impression on me I was convinced our love was meant to be. I asked the upper-classmen girl out time after time, only to be turned down and finally, after the umpteenth time, she pulled me aside and told me that I was probably reading a little too much into a little congratulations kiss.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
Well I would be more independent, probably. The days I spent with my brothers were nice, but it would also have been nice if my adjustment to life on my own hadn't been so drastic.

38. What is your best memory?
Any warm and comfortable night spent with the family, around the fire, reading out loud from a book or singing our songs. I can't pinpoint a single one, I'd just have to say any night at home with everyone is worth remembering.

39. What is your worst memory?
That bit about being left alone in the cave. That would probably be it.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
To put it in the blunt terms I have often heard 'Optimistic to the point of forceful naivete'

41. What is your greatest fear?
Being left alone.

42. What are your religious views?
I believe in the Gods and that they watch over their respective areas, but that they also leave it to us to choose the path we wish to walk. If we avoid causing evil to others we will be rewarded after this life with eternal rest with those we love. As a follower of The Traders, I believe it is left to Them to weigh the hearts of people, thus we should not take it unto ourselves to judge the acts of others.

43. What are your political views?
Well I've just arrived, so I'd like to know a bit more about how Limsa Lominsa works before making an opinion about that.

44. What are your views on sex?
Any gemcutter knows that rarity=value. The more something gets around, the less it's going to mean. It should be saved for the person who is truly precious to you. If you give it away before finding that person, what will you have left to give them?

45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I don't mind a little pest extermination here and there to get rid of monsters that are causing people grief, but I don't really believe in killing creatures that have done no wrong. When it comes to people... a person's life weighs far too heavily on The Traders' scales, and on a person's heart. I really would never want that on my conscience. How would I ever face my family again? I can't imagine ever being in a situation so dire it could only be solved with murder.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Taking advantage of someone who trusts them completely in a way that scars the trusting person.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Yes. I hope to find mine someday.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
A big family that loves you as much as you love them.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I'm fairly honest, though sometimes I get in trouble when I think I can spare someone some suffering by telling a little lie... that usually ends up just hurting the person more in the end.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I guess I tend to look down on people who sleep around or have multiple lovers. Family is just so important to me, seeing people like that makes me kind of sick and I might be a little rude to them about it.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?
Killing people comes to mind. As does casual romance. The former needs no explanation, and as for the latter... romance shouldn't be something you toss around to anyone and everyone.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
My family.

Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I try to always be nice with strangers, and even nicer with my friends. I... have an unfortunate habit of being too trusting toward strangers, and I've been swindled on several occasions because I was too willing to believe a story told me by a 'poor traveler'. However, I am willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt... even mor than once if need be. I just want to be helpful.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
I'd really have to say my brothers are the most important people in my life. They were the ones who really helped shape me from my childhood, and even now that I'm a little older it seems like their letters support me from afar.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
Respect? Hmm, that's a tougher one... Unfortunately I just haven't found someone like that yet. A mentor, or someone whose footsteps I really want to follow... I'm still looking for someone like that.

56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.
I left most of my friends behind when I moved to Limsa Lominsa to finish my schooling. After I graduated most of the students I had gotten along with headed off to different places and... well, to be honest, I'm kind of lonely now. Hopefully I can make some new friends on my own now that I'm living alone.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.
Not yet~

58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.
*sigh* See my 'most embarassing moment'

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Well, she has to want children of course... I'd like to have a really big family. Other than that... it's really all about the love. Not the romance, I mean the actual feeling of mutual love where we both feel that we'd do anything to make the other smile... that sort of thing. As for what type of girl... well... um... u///u I guess a mature, older-sister type would be nice... though maybe a cute younger girl would be good too... hmm... I guess I'll just have to see who it is that makes my heart beat quicker.

60. How close are you to your family?
Fairly close.

61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?
Oh yes, I definitely want to. I just need to find the right girl.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
I would definitely write to my brothers right away. If it was truly desperate I would probably go back to my home.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?
I always trusted my brothers to protect me, but now that I'm out on my own I haven't found that person yet.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
I think my brothers would really beat themselves up over not being able to protect me, even though I'm trying to be more independent now. My family would probably take it really hard.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
I... haven't met a specific person like that. I have a general dislike toward people who abuse the trust of others, but happily I've never met a person like that.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I'm definitely the type who tries to talk things out without resorting to violence. Unless you're dealing with mindless monsters who can't be reasoned with, violence should never be the answer.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
Nope, not at all. Even though I'm trying to be more independent I still tend to be a bit of a follower when I'm in groups.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?
Yes I love being in groups! I really dislike being alone, so the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.

69. Do you care what others think of you?
I'd like for them to think of me as a friendly person they can trust. However, I don't go out of my way just for what people think. I follow my own values.

Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
Reading is definitely one of them, followed closely by studying up on sparkling gemstones.

71. What is your most treasured possession?
The birthstone on my forehead and an earing given me by my brothers on the  day I left for Limsa Lominsa to celebrate me finally becoming an independent person.

72. What is your favorite color?
White

73. What is your favorite food?
Freshly baked bread

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Anything I can get my hands on, really. I like daring tales of adventure and tales of love that leave me misty-eyed. I just love reading.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
Getting together with others and singing songs together is my idea of a great time. I like it more than just going to a concert or something.

76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?  If so, why?  Do you want to quit?
Nope. As a healer I know what those things can do to you, and I'd like to avoid such things happening to my body thank you very much.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
At the moment? I'm usually out doing some odd jobs for people around town trying to scrape together another months rent.

78. What makes you laugh?
Oh lots of things. I tend to be fairly light-hearted and I'm always in the mood for a good chuckle. I don't like humor that involves other peoples' suffering, though. I'd rather laugh -with- people rather than -at- them.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Rape, murder, and the horrible, horrible injuries that one person is capable of inflicting on another

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
I would dig my own mine and look for gemstones

81. How do you deal with stress?
I write about things that are bothering me in letters to my family and then rip them up later instead of sending them

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I learned the importance of having a plan when acting as a healer at school. It tends to keep people alive better than just doing things randomly.

83. What are your pet peeves?
People joking about romance, people who don't appreciate their families. Also people who talk casually about breaking the law or harming others.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
I wish I -had- a routine. About all I can put in stone is that I wake up and go to sleep. Between that a day could consist of anything from throwing spells at Mandragora bothering someone's fields to running from monsters in a mine where I was hoping to get some gems. Maybe once I've got myself established I'll have more of a routine but... well, this way feels a little more like an adventure right?

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
My kindness

86. What is your greatest weakness?
My naivete

87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would be more independent and be less of a follower

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
Extroverted

89. Are you generally organized or messy?
I try to be more organized

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Helping others, learning things and healing would be my good things... and my bad would probably be: judging people, being a salesman and taking initiative.

91. Do you like yourself?
All-in-all I'd say yes. There are bits I want to improve on, of course, but overall I'd say there's no one I'd rather be.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
Right now I do it to pay the rent, but I hope someday to be able to do things that really help others out. I know there are dark things happening in the world and I'd like to learn more powerful white magic to help others banish the pain and hurting from this world.

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
To relieve a little of the pain and suffering people are going through.

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A powerful healer, often invited to help in great events that change the course of our world. By my side are trusted companions who leave their lives in my hands. When I'm not out adventuring I'm at home cutting the finest gems and selling the finest jewelry in the land.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Peacefully, and surrounded by family.

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
Go home to be with my family, tell everyone how much I love them and look around the place where I grew up one last time.

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
For healing suffering.

98. What three words best describe your personality?
Friendly, trusting, healer

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Naive, supportive, kind

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
"Don't spend too much time reading letters from home. Even though they support you right now, what you need to do is find others right where you are who can support you and who you can support. That's the true proof of being independent: you don't need others to support you... you're the one doing the supporting."

The grave is no bar to my call.

Yikes! That took a while! It really does help flesh out a character a bit more though, and I enjoyed reading other peoples answers as well. Hope I can meet some of you in game!

(Holy crap that managed to knock several hours out of my night at work.. had to do some research and fleshing out as well. I initially couldn't really answer as him since he wouldn't answer them to begin with. But I've since gone through and edited this post to reflect how he would answer. Evasively most of the time, bluntly and to the point the rest. I think it's safe to say this character will be a pain in the ass to deal with, and commend anyone who successfully tries.)

Gharen entered the small clearing where he had made camp for the evening. He added some wood to the fire that had burned low. As he stoked the fire he noticed a scroll sitting beside the boughs that made up his bed. His first instinct was to survey the area, there wasn't anyone nearby, and nothing had been taken from his camp. He relaxed, letting out a small breath, picked up the scroll and started to read.

A moment later he flicked his wrist and lobbed the scroll into the fire, his thoughts whirled for second as he watched the parchment catch flame. He scrambled forward and reached into the fire and rescued the scroll as he patted the flames out. He reached into his pack and pulled out a small stick of charcoal and opened the scroll...

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)

I the player would probably tell her that some things you can't change, and they have an impact on who you become, but they don't need to define who you are for the rest of your life.

All of the questions she didn't answer are due to things she was a part of that she isn't proud of, and wants to make amends for.

Lorielle's 100 Questions:
Part 1: The Basics
1.What is your full name?
Lorielle Sylwood
2.Where and when were you born?
I was born in a small home near Camp Tranquil, in the Fifth Astral Moon under the Seventh Sun.
3.Who are/were your parents?  (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My father was Fortin Sylwood, a Wood Wailer.  He was killed when I was just fourteen by a gang of thieves, who got away and have never been brought to justice.  I still remember his face like it was yesterday.  He was kind and compassionate, and so very protective of my mother and I.  My mother was Forysthia Sylwood, a conjurer and botanist.  My father swept her off of her feet when they were young, and they courted in a cat-and-mouse fashion for years before getting married.  My mother was beautiful and compassionate, and she and my father got along so well.  She raised me alone after my father passed, and we took care of one another.  She passed away two years ago after being infected by a quick, aggressive poison from a plant she had been working with.
4.Do you have any siblings?  What are/were they like?
I have never had any siblings, though my parents had planned to have another after me...a bit disappointed that I never had a younger sister.
5.Where do you live now, and with whom?  Describe the place and the person/people.
I have no home currently, as I could not stay in the house I lived with my mother in any longer.  I have finally overcome the...loss of my mother, and so I would like to find a new place to live and hopefully get on to a new chapter in my life.  I travel alone, but hopefully I will find a place to call my home soon and find someone to keep me company.
6.What is your occupation?
I am a Conjurer, like my mother.
7.Write a full physical description of yourself.  You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
O-oh, I didn't think I would have to talk about myself this much.  Um, I'm much shorter than the average Elezen, and a bit skinnier, I suppose.  I'm quite pale, but my cheeks are always...regrettably red.  Ah, my hair is dark brown, and quite long although I prefer keeping it braided and wrapped around like a crown.  I have blue eyes, or maybe green.  It's quite difficult to tell which exactly.  I wear anything blue, or green, or brown.  I prefer clothing that isn't too...revealing?  I dislike getting attention in the...wrong places.  I also have a beauty mark below my right eye. or at least that's what my mother called it.
8.To which social class do you belong?
Ah..., social?  Is there a shy class?  If so, I would belong to that.
9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?
I have Hypoglycemia- ...err, low blood sugar.  I get quite weak and sick from not eating, extreme heat, or blood loss.
10. Are you right- or left-handed?
I am right handed.
11. What does your voice sound like?
My voice is rather soft.  I suppose soothing would be a word for it.  Really I just do not like talking too loudly, or too often, as it may be.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
I'm quite the worrier, so I often say anything along the lines of, "Are you alright", "Are you sure?", "I can go buy you a hi-potion", "No I insist", etcetera.
13. What do you have in your pockets?
Ah?  L-let's see then.......ahm.........some gil, a feather, a pretty rock I found, a small empty vial, and a small book with maps of Eorzea.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
Ahm, my cheeks.  They're always quite flushed.  It only gets worse whenever someone points them out, ...which they always do.  I suppose my constant worrying is an annoying habit. Oh, and playing with my hair.  It takes me such a long time to fix it again.
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
My childhood was amazing.  I might have lost my father, but the time I had with him and my mother is unmatched by any happiness I have ever known.  Despite every bad thing that has happened, I can look back and think happily about my childhood.  Actually, happily is quite an understatement.
16. What is your earliest memory?
Hm, my earliest memory, that I can think of now anyway, was sitting at home with my parents.  We were all seated on the floor, and I was pretending to cook.  My parents would clap for me every time I flipped a flapjack or baked a cake.  I can hardly remember anything else from that early on, and I have no idea why that sticks with me the most.
17. How much schooling have you had?
Ah, schooling was something I took very seriously.  My parents put me into a very esteemed school.  I always heard them talking about how much it cost, and what luxuries they would have to cut out in order to afford my lessons.  For that reason, I tried my hardest in every course, because I did not want their sacrifices for me to go to waste.
18. Did you enjoy school?
Although I tried so hard at first because I wanted to make my parents proud, I actually really loved school!  I love learning and take every opportunity I get to learn something new.  There was so much to do and so many opportunities to prove myself.  It's not so easy to do that, now.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
I learned many things from school, of course.  I payed attention and took everything I learned to heart.  But outside of school, my parents taught me so much more than any courses ever could.  They taught me how to behave, how to treat others, and they taught me everything I know about combat and conjuring.  My mother taught me the most, as she used teaching as an outlet to make us both happy and occupied after my father passed.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models?  If so, describe them.
Well, obviously, my parents were my biggest role models.  I wanted to be just like them when I grew up.  I like to believe that I am like them, now.  I feel like I am keeping them alive, this way.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
I got along with my mother's side of the family very well.  They were outgoing and hardy, and always made a good time of any situation.  My father's side of the family adored my mother and I, but they were much more restrained than my mother's side.  More classy, I suppose you would call them.  Not to say my mother's side wasn't.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a child, I wanted to be a chocobo.  Needless to say I grew out of that phase rather quickly, and knew I wanted to be a Disciple of Magic.  After a few years of juggling between Arcane and Conjuring, I realized Conjuration was my calling.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
I loved nothing more than being with my parents.  I loved going on walks with them, playing with them, and exploring with them.  We would often go out into the woods, the three of us, and spend the night out far form our house.  We all shared a love for nature.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was actually very outgoing as a child.  I think about it quite often, and have come to the conclusion that I became...well...the way I am now after my father passed.  It was just my mother and I, and I pulled away from anyone else.  I assume that is why I am rather shy now.
25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I was not very popular at all as a child.  I was often teased about being so close to my parents, but that hardly seems like something to be teased about to me.  I never really needed any friends.  My parents were the best friends I could ever have.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
F-first kiss?  I-I've never even hugged a man before...
27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
O-oh by the Gods...
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
I am sure by now you know that everything I am now has been influenced by my parents.
Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Hm, that would depend on whether it was important in a positive or negative way.  I can't choose a specific moment in my life, as my entire life was pretty important to me.  Maybe the most recent important event was me leaving my old home and coming to Gridania.
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
My mother, by far.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I consider my skill in conjuring and my intelligence to be my greatest achievement.  My schooling was what I took most seriously in my life.  Aside from that, coming to terms with the loss of my father, then my mother, has been one of my greatest achievements.  It's wonderful, that moment you realize they want you to make something of yourself rather than grieve for them.
32. What is your greatest regret?
My greatest regret is something I cannot help.  I regret that my father left us so soon, but after years of fighting with myself over it, I know that there was nothing I can do to stop it.  I cursed Nymeia for years for his fate, but you come to learn that everything happens for a reason.
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
E-evil?  I don't believe I have ever done anything I would consider evil.
34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?
...I don't believe so.
35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
When my mother grew ill before her passing.  It was just the two of us, and I had no idea what to do.  I could not stand seeing her suffer, and yet I could not tear myself from her side.  But I became so afraid that I began running from our home all the way to her sister's home near Quarrymill.  Halfway there I was chased by Kedtraps and was nearly killed before I reached my aunt's home.  She came back to Camp Tranquil with me, and helped me take care of my mother before she passed.
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
My mother and father had a knack for embarrassing me with a boy that lived near us when I was young.  They talked about how we would be married in twenty years, and seemed very convinced in their story.  They had no restraint in talking about it in front of that boy.  Aside from that, I am embarrassed very often.
37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
I would try and change anything about the fate of my parents.  Unfortunately, I had nothing to do with their deaths, and nothing could have been done to prevent them.
38. What is your best memory?
My best memory is riding on my father's shoulders while he and my mother took me to Gridania for the first time.  There was so much to see and so much that was new to me, and my mother and father were so happy.
39. What is your worst memory?
As much as it hurt me during the time my father passed, and then during the time my mother passed, nothing hurt worse than seeing the way my mother cried when she came back home from identifying my father's remains.  I hope I should never have to be that sad in my life.
Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Despite my worrying, I am very optimistic.  I like to think that I can accomplish anything if I apply myself correctly.
41. What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is that I should never find my place or my purpose.
42. What are your religious views?
I worship Nophica and nature itself.  I have come to follow Nymeia as well.
43. What are your political views?
I try not to put too much into politics.  Politics mean very little to me in the grand scheme of life itself.
44. What are your views on sex?
It should be something shared with someone you care about and want to have a future with.  A-and it should only be with one person, not with multitudes of people around the same time.
45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
I am capable of killing.  I have little fear in killing, surprisingly.  I kill when it is just, and when it is serving the greater good.  I find killing is only acceptable when it is to save the innocent, or to rid the world of one who means to make others suffer.
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
The most evil thing any human being could do is take someone's happiness.  Whether it be taking some object they love, taking their money, or taking the lives of those they love.
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
I saw what my parents had.  Of course I believe.  I hope that I may some day find a love like theirs.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
Being happy is all anyone needs.  It could be protecting others, exploring the world, or staying at home with a good book.  As long as you can step back and look at your life and feel good about it, you're successful.
49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
I am very honest with people.  I am very open to people I trust, but of course, I do not talk about things that are not anyone's business but my own.
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I am quite prejudiced against thieves.  Some may make the excuse that they steal to make a living, maybe to feed their children.  I believe there are always better alternatives, and though there may truly be some excuses, I have yet to see them.
51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?
I refuse to steal from anyone.  That includes taking the life of someone that someone else will miss.  That is guilt I cannot and will not bear.
52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
To be truly honest, I would die for an absolute stranger.  My life is but one, and I've no family to miss me if I were to pass.  A stranger in need may have a family who wants them to return home.
Part 5: Relationships With Others
53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)?  Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
I am shy, but if someone approaches me, I strike at the chance to make a friend.  I always try to be kind and keep someone's interest.  Of course, if I get to know someone well, I might come out of my shell and be more outgoing and joking.  I might even make inappropriate jokes.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Unfortunately, there is no one currently.  I've yet to make any new friends.  My parents are still with me, in a sense, and are everything to me.
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
I respect everyone equally, so I like to believe.  I may respect my guild masters more than most, perhaps.
56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.
Of all the questions asked so far, this might be the one that depresses me, haha...
57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.
I might as well state that I have no social life whatsoever and move on from these questions.
58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.
Sigh...no.
59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Oh, well, they must be kind, obviously.  Compassionate and loyal.  Someone who can make me feel comfortable and make me sociable.  They have to have a good heart, and I can't help but fall for someone who can make me laugh.  I also desire a man who takes charge when others would falter.  Appearance doesn't mean very much to me, but I will admit, I am a bit of a sucker for a tall man.
60. How close are you to your family?
I am very close to my aunts and uncles.  I visit them very often.  My aunt offered to let me live with her, but......she has so many cats...
61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?
N-no, ...but I would really like to have my own some day.
62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
If I desperately needed help, I would turn to my aunt.  She has always been there for me, and anyone who has ever needed her, in fact.
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?
I have to trust in myself when it comes to protection, really.  I wish I had others I could depend on, if all else failed.
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
What remains of my family would miss me.  My aunt would be the most upset, I would imagine.
65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
I try not to hate anyone.  Hating someone solves no problems.
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I avoid conflict to the best of my ability.  Sometimes, though, it cannot be helped.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
I prefer for others to be in-charge.  I can take a leadership role if it comes to it.  I prefer doing whatever I can to assist others.
68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?
It depends on the situation.  Large groups make me anxious most times.  But, sometimes it helps conversation flow without coming to some...awkward standstill.  I enjoy listening to others tell jokes as well.  It's relaxing to be a part of a conversation without having to force any input into it.
69. Do you care what others think of you?
Well, yes and no.  I do not are if others dislike me.  There is little I can say or do about that, and I cannot please everyone.  But, I do want people to like me, and I want people to think I am helpful and think of me as being someone they can depend on.
Part 6: Likes And Dislikes
70. What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?
I love collecting flowers, gems, anything from nature that I find the most unique and appealing.  I've always loved just being in nature, walking without a destination through forests and by rivers.
71. What is your most treasured possession?
My most treasured possession is a hair clip my mother gave me when I was a young girl.  It belonged to her, and she often used it to pin back my hair as I was growing up.  She always took it back when I finished using it, but before she passed she gave it to me.  I use it still.
72. What is your favorite color?
My favorite color is blue.  Aside form that, I really love green and brown.  Any earthy colors, really.  Flashy pinks and reds are a bit too gaudy for me.
73. What is your favorite food?
I love sweets.  Chocolate is a guilty pleasure of mine.  I love dishes with fish as well.
74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
I like to read anything, really.  My only exception is anything to do with politics.  I have grown my entire life without needing to know the goings-on of politics.  There's no need for that when you live off of the land.
75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
I am a bit of a people-watcher, I suppose.  I don't follow people and look in on their business, mind you.  I like to sit and see people interact with one another.  I like to see someone buy a new dress and just think of what they are planning to do with it.  It's fascinating, trying to look at life from the perspective of another person.  How is their life different?  What are their hopes, what are their fears, what are their deepest desires?  A-ah I went on a bit of a tangent there.  Aside from...that, I like reading, fishing, and theater.
76. Do you smoke, drink, or use drugs?  If so, why?  Do you want to quit?
I do not and never have done any of those things.  I probably never will.
77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Well, I used to go fishing every Saturday, so at night I would be cooking.  Now that I am out wandering, I will probably spend the closest Saturday in an inn.
78. What makes you laugh?
There is humor like no other than when two friends make jabs at each other.  I love listening to two friends who have known one another for years talk to each other.  It's funny how the longer you know someone, the more you can get away with being cruel to them.  Good-humored people make me laugh quite easily as well.  Watching animals can be quite funny also.  Catching a Ground Squirrel tripping and trying to play it off is adorable.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
I am highly offended by men who push their boundaries when flirting.  I do not know why anyone would think making someone uncomfortable would make them more attracted to you.  I like to be respected.
80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
I do not sleep as often as I would like to as it is.  When I cannot sleep, I like to walk outside and find a river to sit by.  The sound of water running usually makes me sleepy.
81. How do you deal with stress?
I do not deal with stress.  When I am stressed, I think about what stresses me out.  It's a terrible habit and only makes things worse, but I find it difficult to let some things go right away.  Time fixes everything, or at least that's how I see it.
82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I prefer to have a plan.  I like to know how something should go, what to do if something goes wrong, etcetera.  Even my spontaneity needs to come with a slight plan.
83. What are your pet peeves?
My greatest pet peeves are when women wear scandalous clothing and flaunt themselves.  I cannot wrap my mind around why a woman would want attention in that way.  I also dislike public displays of affection.  Unless it is sweet, like holding hands or just looking comfortable around each other, it makes me uncomfortable to see it.  Although it isn't really a pet peeve, I dislike much of the clothing I must wear as a conjurer.  Long heavy robes just seem so pointless when you have to move around as often as I do.
Part 7: Self Images And Etc.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
A normal day, to me, is wandering through the thick of nature, honing my skills and assisting people when I can.  I take breaks at any rest stop I come across, and try to relax with a hot cup of tea or something small to eat.  Very little disrupts this routine, unless someone decides to talk to me.  Then my routine involves talking to someone for as long as I can, which I love and wish would happen more often!
85. What is your greatest strength as a person?
I like to believe that my greatest strength as a person is my desire to do good and help others.  The way the world works today, everyone should help one another.
86. What is your greatest weakness?
Mm, my greatest weakness is how easily I can lose confidence.  If I fail at something, that failure sticks with me for a long time.
87. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would like to be more social, definitely.  It sounds like a simple thing, gaining some confidence to approach someone and just start talking.  I see people do it all the time.  But it is not that easy.  It just isn't.
88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
I am very introverted.  I grew up in seclusion from others, by choice, and that has stuck with me even now, when I really wish I had a friend.
89. Are you generally organized or messy?
I am generally organized.  I like to keep things in a way where I can quickly locate something I need.  I alos like to keep myself tidy and neat.
90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
I am very good at conjuring, helping people, and really anything that involves using your mind extensively.  I am not very good at starting conversation, hand-to-hand combat, or baking.  Something about pastries just baffles me, apparently.
91. Do you like yourself?
I am comfortable with who I am, if that is what you are asking.  I think I am a good person, and believe I am likable.
92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
My reason for being an adventurer is to help others.  I have been in situations where I was helpless to stop something from happening.  If I had had an adventurer around when my father was attacked, he might have been saved and I might have him now.  One person can change the lives of so many.  I want to use the things my parents taught me to help others.  It is what they would want me to do.  It is what would make them proud.
93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I have no long term goal, really.  Every small accomplishment makes life worth living.
94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully in five years I will have a home, for one.  I hope I will have several close friends, maybe even a significant other.  I hope I will have a reputation that will bring people from far and wide to ask for my help.  I would still like to travel, though, so I have no real idea of what I want exactly in five years.  I just want more security, I suppose.
95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
I would like to either die peacefully in my sleep at old age, or die saving the lives of others.  Hopefully I would have helped many people before I died, in either scenario.
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
I would go out and start talking to people.  If I was going to die, I would have nothing to lose.  I would talk to as many people as I could and try to make myself and others laugh.  Then I would go out in the forest and wander around, taking in all of my favorite things for one last time.  Finally, I would find the perfect place to pass, and I would try to fall asleep.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
I would like for people to remember me as a kind, good person.  I would like for them to remmeber some time I did something for them that made a difference in their lives.
98. What three words best describe your personality?
Um, well shy, obviously.  Shy, kind, and maybe noble.  I like to think I have a noble cause.
99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
Ah, shy, again, haha.  Hm, quiet, and delicate.
100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
If I had to give Lorielle advice, I would tell her not to worry so much about embarrassing herself around others.  I would tell her to go ahead and talk to people if she wants, and if they do not accept her, then she should brush it off and move on to the next person.

Looking back over all of this, I've noticed Lorielle actually came out of her shell in her answers.  She started out shy and then became more sure of herself.  It just goes to show how her personality works xD

"I suppose I live here now... Uh, sorta by myself at the moment." Jajara sniffs, glancing briefly at passers-by. "It ain't as friendly a place as I thought it'd be but I don't reckon it's as bad as some folk make it out to be."

"Itchy. Cause of the sand, y'see. It could've been worse though. Guess we were spared a lot of the, uh... destruction and what have you out here. 16. What is your earliest memory?
"Watchin' ma and grandma and them weavin' by the fireside. I remember the shadows an' the colors the most. I dunno why."

"Auntie Boro did a lot for me. A -lot-. She weren't as... as toxic as Ma was, an' she spoke up fer me a lot. She's the kind of woman I wanna be: kind an' smart, an' generous. If it weren't for her, I wouldn'ta made it to Ul'dah."

25. As a child, were you popular?  Who were your friends, and what were they like?
"Hah! Nah, not really. Our herds didn't meet up too often but I s'pose from the ones that did... There was this girl, right? I forget her name now but we were pretty good friends. She taught me games you could play with a bit 'a string an' yer fingers. I wonder whatever happened to her..."

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
Jajara's expression darkens somewhat, a scowl forming on her lips. "I don't like thinkin' about him all too much. He don't matter no more. Hells, never did."

27. Are you a virgin?  If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
"Yer real nosy, ain't ya?" She fidgets with her fingers and glares down at the ground a few moments. "... No, I ain't a virgin. An' again: he don't matter."

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.  If you are just a normal being, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?
"Uhh. I guess when Vivita kissed me in front'a everyone? It was Mister Garryson's fault. He's downright evil sometimes."

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?
"I think I would've made myself realize that ya can't please everyone a lot sooner than I did."

"Bein'... useless, I guess. Bein' the kind of person that nobody - not anybody ever - will remember."

42. What are your religious views?

"Aw, fer Twelve's sake! I ain't touchin' this one. Nope."

45. Are you able to kill?  Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
"No. No, I don't like killin' an I hope the Gods strike me down 'fore I ever think to kill someone. I know some of my... well, maybe more than some of my friends have... done things. An' maybe they were for... 'good' reasons. But me? No. Not ever."

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any being could do?
"Intentionally hurt another."

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
"I didn't, not until just a while ago. Now I'm not so sure. I mean... there's those folk that just make other folk seem whole, y'know? That make 'em brighten up an' be more alive. Them's soul mates, I think. An' true love...? Well, I dunno about that yet."

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
"Goodness. That is, bein'... good. Bein' good in any an' every way you can. I don't think it matters how much gil ya got in yer pockets, or how big a house ya got, or how many children ya have... It's how good yer heart is."

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
"I might, uh... hide things. But I ain't in the habit of gettin' real emotional-like about things, especially not if it ain't gonna help me or anyone else."

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
"... To be honest, I'm kinda... Well. We didn't really, uhh... -mingle-  much when I were little. So it still kinda confuses me a little when I see all of ya different folk runnin' about everywhere. I don't mind, no no. It's just different."

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances?  Why do you refuse to do it?
"Murder. Do ya really need to ask...?"

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
"If my brothers an' sisters were in danger an' dyin' would save 'em, then I probably would. They ain't done nothin' wrong."

"I try to be friendly with everyone I meet. Sometimes I'm not so good at it but I think... for the most part it's worked out alright. I've got more friends than I ever thought I would an' I'm makin' more every day. Naturally I think I might act a little different towards someone if I know 'em better... Like Tia! Tia can hug me all she wants. But I don't think I'd let Mister Garryson or some of the others touch me."

"Right now? Uhh... Reverend. 'Cause he... He's good to me. He makes me feel kinda special, y'know?"

56. Who are your friends?  Do you have a best friend?  Describe these people.
"Oh, gosh. Well, uhhh... I guess my best friend would be Reverend. But, uhh..." She trails off, blushing a little. "Ehh. Tia's a good friend, too, an' she's real nice. I just... I worry about her, too, 'cause she's... Well, she's been through all kinds of awfulness. Uhmm... There's Edgar, he's real sweet but he needs to eat more. An' A'tirramei! She's so nice!"

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other?  If so, describe this person.
"Didn't ya ask this already...? Well, kinda. Uh, well, he's... Respectful. An' he's clever, so clever! An' real strong, too. I can't imagine anyone doin' the kinds'a things he does. It's kinda scary, really, but... eh. He's good."

58. Have you ever been in love?  If so, describe what happened.
"I'm... not real sure."

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
"Well, t'be honest, I .... don't. Don't look, that is. But he's-- ... uh. He's patient, so that's good."

60. How close are you to your family?
"Not very, not anymore. Haven't talked to any of 'em in months now..."

61. Have you started your own family?  If so, describe them.  If not, do you want to?  Why or why not?
"Oh Gods, no! I mean... uh. Maybe someday? But... no, not right now. Last thing I want is a little wailin' Jajara Junior."

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?
"Probably Mister Baelon. He'd know how to help with anythin', I'm sure."

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you?  Who, and why?
"I like to think that my co-workers might. Some of 'em, anyroad, 'cause they're that kind of people. Reverend would but he'd... He'd probably set folks on fire."

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
"I think Tia would. Reverend. I'd hope the rest of 'em, too. I'd miss them if they were gone."

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?
"My ma. She's done me a lot of wrong, an' I'll leave it at that."

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
"Really don't like to argue but if it's somethin' real important, or somethin' that's gotta be right..."

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
"Hah! Nooo, no. I ain't a leader, no sir."

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people?  Why or why not?
"Kinda? I'm used to bein' in groups. Just gets kinda hard hearin' myself thinks at times, y'know?"

69. Do you care what others think of you?
"I'd like to say no but I do care a little. I hope they don't think I'm just some dumb sand-licker."

72. What is your favorite color?

74. What, if anything, do you like to read?

"Uhh, when... folk are real... friendly out in public. Not so keen on that, I tell ya."

80. What would you do if you had insomnia and had to find something to do to amuse yourself?
"I'd probably take up fishin' or somethin'. Ain't safe to walk around Ul'dah at night so it'd have to be Limsa."

81. How do you deal with stress?
"I guess I work...?"

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
"Well, my plans ain't so detailed so I guess I could be called spontaneous? Wake up an' tell myself, 'Jajara, we're gonna make some rings today!' ... An' by the time the day is done, I might'a made a few necklaces, too."

83. What are your pet peeves?
"I don't like people touchin' me. An' I don't much care for bein'... y'know, gushed over. I ain't that cute, fer Twelve's sake!"

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you.  How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?

"Oh, Gods. Messy! So messy!"

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Jajara counts things off on her fingers. "I'm good at sayin' helloooo, an' cuttin' stones. Oh! An' makin' friends, I guess. I'm awful at maths, an' magic, an' not spendin' money."

91. Do you like yourself?
"A'course I do."

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)?  Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public?  (If so, detail both sets of reasons…)
"I ain't an adventurer, so I guess I can tell ya why not? 'Cause... I dunno, it just isn't my thing. I wanna make my name in other ways."

93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
"I'd love to buy a home somewhere. Probably in or around Ul'dah. Maybe share it with someone real special."

94. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
"Hittin' rocks with a fancier hammer."

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die?
"... Well, gosh. In my sleep, I s'pose. Real quiet-like, so's my loved ones don't gotta worry."

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
"I'd... Huh." She pauses to scratch at the side of her nose. "My first thought was 'have sex' but I dunno. I'd probably make sure everythin' I got goes to someone important to me. Maybe me an'... an' someone would ride out as far as we could into the Sagolii, closer to home. An' I'd probably pray."

97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
"For not lettin' Ul'dah as it is now change me. Or, for helpin' Ul'dah be a better place."

98. What three words best describe your personality?
"I'm livin' honest."

99. What three words would others probably use to describe you?
"Silly little thing."

100. If you could, what advice would you, the player, give to your character?  (You might even want to speak as if he or she were sitting right here in front of you, and use proper tone so he or she might heed your advice…)
Believing in yourself is the first step to carrying on. Just because you think you are insignificant does not mean that you are - even if the world may not remember you when you are gone, there will always be someone who will remember you both in good and in bad.
