I actually have a character whose job is to research primals and tempering. She suspects an unknown primal (OOCly, Shiva) may be in Coerthas (in addition to Garuda).

She would be very interested in exchanging notes on primals.

It's worth noting Coerthas does have fauna and flora. It's also worth noting Ishgard may not appreciate foreigners poking about in their lands, especially where nobility, bloodlines and history are concerned.

My chara, Aeriyn Ashley, is a black mage and a scholar of aetherial matters, one who studies magic in its myriad forms, but specifically focuses on the study and data-collection related to corrupted aether. It's for both personal and professional reasons, but she would fall all over herself to join a research expedition to Coerthas.
