Hey everyone. I personally enjoy playing a character with a Paladin or Priest-like archetype and I was wondering if any others are roleplaying their characters as a devout of the Twelve or in some way, spiritual in game? Is your faith stronger or weaker than other characters? Or does your character not care about the Gods or Goddesses in game?

Erik believes in the twelve, but is a devout follower of Halone from his mother. He dislikes and questions devotion to Rhalgr.

I play Skaenmoen as a very devout follower of the twelve and holds both Nymeia (The Spinner) andLlymlaen (The Navigator) as particular close goddesses who have plotted the course of her life. She has defended her beliefs on more than one occasion through rp.

Jajara was raised to be faithful and has recently been reconnecting with her spirituality. Oschon and Byregot are her favored Gods though she does her best to honor all of them whenever she can. Thanks to a friend, she's been visiting the Sanctum of the Twelve on a somewhat regular basis.

My 1.0 character (currently my alt) is a priest. I would love to get more spiritual RP going. I had him take a small pilgrimage to the Nald and Thal shrines to Thanalan. Would be fun to adventure with people and visit all the stones in Eorzea ^^.

L'yhta reveres the Twelve, more or less (and certainly invokes them in colorful curses from to time Smile ); when she was younger, she, as a tribal Seeker of the Sun in Limsa Lominsa, particularly revered Azeyma and Llymlaen. Her current spirituality, though, is based around the Mothercrystal, who she feels is the true supreme deity of Hydaelyn. She views herself as something of a Templar of the Mothercrystal, though she doesn't talk about that a whole lot -- she prefers to be viewed as not especially spiritual by others, and she's also aware that her particular religious preference would likely be looked down upon by most.

The K tribe is deeply worshipful of Azeyma, going so far as to ritualize and idolize the sun's cycles, conduct celebratory festivals, and tune a lot of their actions to signs from the sun. Antimony (K'piru) was a part of this for 41 years and possibly one of the most spiritual members of the tribe (with a few exceptions), as she was their shaman - a sort of medical, historical, and supernatural guide. Dalamud's fall - and the resulting deaths of much of her tribe, including her daughters and her nunh - shattered her faith, however. She's actively doubting of the gods' powers, but she does retain an echo of her past role in that she is still intensely superstitious. This past All Saints Wake was exceptionally fun to RP, as Antimony had no concept of the celebration (the K tribe being rather isolated from the rest of Eorzea, and no Wake having been held since the Calamity) and so judged it to be a glorification of demons and evil. She hated every moment of it. xD

So in a way, she's still "spiritual" in that she still holds a lot of superstitions (which actually influence a great deal of her medical skills - she doesn't trust Eorzean doctors, so if she gets sick, it's home remedies all the way!) and a belief/distrust in the supernatural. She just gives no credence to the Twelve.

Oschon all the way! My Duskwight, Megiddo, often deliberately gets lost so that the Wanderer can guide his footsteps. He regularly finds himself in strange places with no idea how he got there, and promptly asks himself, "So what does Oschon want me to see or do here?"

This is extremely convenient for setting up random RP.

I suppose you already know but Siobhain is extremely devout. Her faith is probably stronger than any of the other characters I've ever had, including my 'good' priests. She's constantly put off by how few others she meets who share an equivalent level of her faith, but mind, her practices are completely custom. Her belief in Azeyma is primary and she concentrates equally on inquisition and warding as her philosophies. One dictates her lifestyle and the other, her approach to combat.

My characters have different methodologies when it comes to religion and spirituality. In increasing order of faith:

Ildur, as a garlean, has no interest in the Twelve. He has gotten used to curse in their name and to pretend to call them every now and then, but doesn't think they exist. And if they do, they will be just little more than Primals with good relations with Eorzeans.

Thiereia is basically in denial. The Calamity happened and she's sure that the Twelve were too busy or weak to help. Thus, don't deserve any worship. She's very confrontational about it.

Ulanan is a 'lite' follower of Oschon. Unlike Megiddo up there, she doesn't get lost on purpose. She thinks Oschon favors the feet that have a purpose and direction, and thinks he is responsible for any fortuitous coincidences along the way. Sometimes, this includes detours, but that's only if your direction was wrong in the first place.

K'airos became devout after the Calamity as a way to cope with losing most of her family and tribe. She took the K-Tribe's religion (the only one she had contact with, really) and attached to it with superglue. The version of the ceremonies and devotion that sprung out from her might not be very accurate representation of what the tribe does, though.

Liadan is a devout follower over the Twelve, but is closest to Nophica, the patron of Gridania.

Nako is quite devoted to Menphina. She returns to her family in the Shroud when ever there is to be a religious ceremony or observation. She does her best to do good deeds in Menphina's name.

Me too! I especially love Coerthas and the Temple of the Twelve in Gridania, I might poke around there from time to time on Davian to kickstart some RP there.

Sounds like a great idea to instigate some RP. I'll give it a shot myself!

Indeed, although I originally thought Siobhain would worship Halone a bit as well, seeing that Halone looks to be the patron goddess of gladiators/fighters.

I like the spread of beliefs from each of your characters. I'd personally get confused myself if I tried to RP so many different characters. XD

My character, Davian Ackerman, is quite devout in following both Halone and Nophica. Halone, to be blessed in martial combat and his training and Nophica, for healing wounds and injuries. He can often be seen praying before battle, when conjuring a healing spell or when pleading to the Gods for their aid.

Gharen was born into a devout family that worshiped Halone and Azeyma, though due to experiences in his life cast away that faith. Recent events though after having left the grindstone have reconnected him to that faith resulting in his becoming a paladin.

A'nzil attributes his survival thus far to Azeyma looking out for him and looks to her the most for guidance and protection. I've been wanting to to develop his faithfulness a little more, but with the disappearance of A'khenna, and A'nzil avoiding Sio until he improves his diction, I don't have much of a chance at the moment Sad
